Minsk, February 2 (Xinhua) — Belarus plans to increase food exports to China. This was announced by the press service of the Belarusian Ministry of Agriculture and Food on Monday following a meeting between the country's Minister of Agriculture and Food, Yuri Gorlov, and the Belarusian Ambassador to China, Alexander Chervyakov.
Yury Gorlov emphasized that in 2026, the Belarusian Ministry of Agriculture and Food plans not only to increase export volumes for existing products but also to actively expand its export portfolio by adding promising product groups. He stated that Belarusian organizations are already working on accreditation for exports of flour, cereals, bran, and flakes to China.
The ministry's press service noted that the Chinese market is viewed as a strategically important platform for the sustainable growth of Belarusian food exports.
Furthermore, a number of investment projects are being actively implemented in Belarus with Chinese support. These are expected to be an important step toward the technological modernization of the Belarusian agricultural sector and increasing its export orientation.
China consistently maintains its status as the second-largest market for Belarusian food products after Russia, accounting for 4.5 percent of exports. Food products account for approximately 27 percent of all Belarusian exports to China.
