Moscow, September 19 (Xinhua) — The Russian Ministry of Transport should conduct a cybersecurity audit of Russian airport websites and organize scheduled information security exercises for personnel involved in working with these resources, according to Anton Gorelkin, First Deputy Chairman of the State Duma Committee on Information Policy, Information Technology, and Communications.

"I believe the Russian Ministry of Transport should not only conduct a thorough cybersecurity audit of airport websites but also organize scheduled cybersecurity training for personnel involved in working with these resources," the deputy wrote on his channel on the Max platform.

The deputy made this statement after Pulkovo Airport in St. Petersburg announced on Friday that its website had been hacked.

A. Gorelkin believes that airport public resources must be protected to the highest standard, becoming truly impenetrable to any hackers.

It was previously reported that Pulkovo Airport's website had been hacked. Its functionality is currently limited. Pulkovo Airport is operating normally, and check-in for flights is proceeding as usual.

CHANGCHUN, Sept. 19 (Xinhua) — The People's Liberation Army Air Force (PLAAF) Open Day and Changchun Air Show 2025 kicked off in Changchun, northeast China's Jilin Province, on Friday, showcasing the latest military aviation achievements through spectacular aerial shows and static displays.

The program includes performances by aerobatic and parachute teams, as well as military aircraft from the combat units of the Chinese Air Force.

Highlights of the show will include flybys of a YY-20A tanker in formation with J-16 fighter jets, a pair of H-6 bombers, and a KongJing-500 airborne early warning aircraft escorted by four J-20 stealth fighters.

"The demonstration of group maneuvers of various types of aircraft is, in essence, a transfer of our usual combat training to the airshow field," said Wu Haoran, one of the J-16 pilots.

This year's dual event will last five days. Since its inception in 2011, it has become a key platform for showcasing the PLAAF's development and strategic transformation achievements.

Beijing, September 19 (Xinhua) — The State Council Information Office of China on Friday published a white paper titled "China's Achievements in the All-Round Development of Women's Affairs in the New Era." It highlights the significant benefits enjoyed by Chinese women as a result of the country's large-scale anti-poverty campaign.

According to the White Paper, women, who make up approximately half of the poor in China, have benefited from targeted programs that allocate funds and resources, including project organization, cash use, and household-specific interventions.

The white paper highlights China's efforts to improve access for poor women to basic health care, compulsory education, government subsidies, basic food and clothing, and housing.

A dynamic monitoring and assistance mechanism has been established to prevent any relapse into poverty. Furthermore, support for women who have escaped poverty and women from low-income rural areas is being maintained to develop their production, expand employment opportunities, and increase their incomes, according to the White Paper.

China is leveraging new forms of business and industry, including poverty alleviation programs in sectors such as e-commerce, photovoltaic technology, and tourism, to help low-income women find employment close to home. In areas populated by ethnic minorities, the transformation of the hand-weaving industry from a purely traditional craft to one that is now a significant factor in the local economy has had a profound impact on the lives of female embroiderers of the Miao and Yi ethnic groups.

China has also increased financial support for women living in poverty. According to the white paper, a total of over 450 billion yuan (approximately $63.27 billion) in guaranteed microloans and microcredits for poverty alleviation have been provided to needy women, and 8.7 million impoverished women have increased their incomes through entrepreneurship.

As of 2020, various vocational training programs were organized for a total of 10.21 million women and technicians in need. Between 2023 and 2024, 632,000 women received vocational training through the Rain and Dew program, enabling them to continue their journey out of poverty.

In addition, China has made significant progress in infrastructure development, which has fundamentally addressed the problems of transportation, electricity, water, and communications that limit women's development in poor areas. -0-

Beijing, September 19 (Xinhua) — The State Council Information Office of the People's Republic of China on Friday published a white paper titled "China's Achievements in the All-Round Development of Women's Affairs in the New Era." It provides a comprehensive overview of China's initiatives related to women's affairs.

The Communist Party of China (CPC) guides and guides Chinese women in exercising their legitimate democratic rights, participating in the country's socio-economic development and sharing the benefits of reform and development, guided by the fundamental principle of gender equality, the document says.

It also stated that the CPC's leadership is the fundamental guarantee of the country's work related to women.

According to the White Paper, emphasizing gender equality as a fundamental national policy is an innovative practice within China's socialist system and an important decision that will promote gender equality and the all-round development of women's affairs.

Achieving development goals is impossible without the active participation of women, and the benefits of these efforts must be shared by all, the White Paper says, emphasizing that, in line with this principle, China has included strengthening gender equality in its comprehensive development agenda.

Moreover, China's commitment to a people-centered development approach, according to the document, is evidenced by its respect for women's rights and strengthening institutional guarantees, policy support, and the provision of public services for their development.

China, together with all other countries, is committed to creating a global environment conducive to women's development, maintaining international fairness and justice, and making its necessary contribution to moving the world toward a bright future characterized by peace, security, prosperity and progress, the white paper said. -0-
