On September 22, the American news agency Bloomberg published an article titled "What Investors Saw in China: Green Everyday Life." The article stated that China appears to be leading in all areas of clean technology. A group of investors from Europe and the United States wants to determine whether European and American companies can still remain competitive in the transition to clean energy.

This July, eight venture capitalists flew to China. Members of this team hail from London, Berlin, Copenhagen, Barcelona, and other cities. They are all focused on early-stage investments in clean energy startups and collectively manage $6 billion in assets.

During their trip to China, the investor team met with the founders of the respective companies and visited the production facilities of approximately 10 companies in Shenzhen and Shanghai. They saw not only cutting-edge batteries, new hydrogen-powered turbines, and breakthrough solar technologies, but also cutting-edge manufacturing facilities that enable large-scale production of these products.

China is the world's second-largest economy and a leader in almost all areas of the low-carbon transition, including investment, technology adoption, and manufacturing. At the same time, the US has shifted its climate investment stance. These factors are prompting Western investors to intensify their cooperation with China.

Before participating in the July trip, these venture capitalists had not directly invested in Chinese companies, but now they all recommend that their portfolio companies develop or implement a "China strategy." This can take various forms, such as establishing factories for European cleantech companies in China, establishing new partnerships with technologically advanced Chinese companies, or inviting Chinese companies to Europe to help manage local factories.

Khartoum, October 9 (Xinhua) — At least 13 people were killed and more than 21 wounded when the paramilitary Rapid Intervention Force (RIF) shelled a mosque in the western Sudanese city of El Fasher, volunteers and eyewitnesses reported on Thursday.

"The Abu Shouk Mosque in El Fasher was hit by gunfire on Wednesday evening, killing at least 13 civilians and injuring more than 21," the Abu Shouk Camp Ambulance Service said in a statement.

The organization reported that the mosque was sheltering dozens of families who fled the Abu Shouk area after SBR forces recently entered it.

An eyewitness told Xinhua that safety concerns prevented rescuers from reaching the site until early Thursday morning, when volunteers cleared the rubble and recovered 13 bodies of the dead and several injured.

The Sudan office of the UN Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs condemned the recent attacks in El Fasher.

Sudan is experiencing a major conflict between the country's armed forces and the RRF, which erupted in April 2023. The fighting has claimed tens of thousands of lives and forced millions to flee their homes, exacerbating the country's humanitarian crisis.

As the Premier of the State Council of the People's Republic of China noted, during Kim Jong-un's meeting with Xi Jinping, the two sides outlined a direction and a plan for further deepening relations between China and the DPRK.

China, Li Qiang continued, is willing to work with the DPRK to follow the joint instructions of the top leaders of the two parties and two countries, promoting continuous new progress in bilateral relations.

The head of the Chinese government stated that China hopes to further develop traditional friendship with the DPRK, deepen practical cooperation, and establish close coordination and interaction in international and regional affairs.

Moscow, October 9 (Xinhua) – Russia and the countries of Central Asia share similar approaches to regional and global issues, coordinate their positions at the UN, and have great prospects for developing economic cooperation. This was stated by Russian President Vladimir Putin in Dushanbe, Tajikistan, while addressing the Russia-Central Asia Summit.

"Russia and the Central Asian countries share common or similar approaches to key regional and global issues and coordinate their positions at the UN and other multilateral forums," Putin noted.

According to him, Russia's trade turnover with the Central Asian states is growing and exceeded $45 billion last year, while total Russian investment in these countries' economies amounts to $20 billion. However, this is insufficient, given the enormous potential of the Central Asian states.

Touching on energy cooperation, Vladimir Putin indicated that Russia is ready to assist Central Asia in the construction of nuclear and hydroelectric power plants, as well as participate in other energy projects.

"Our country is participating in the modernization of the largest hydroelectric power plants in the Central Asian region, many of which were built during the Soviet era. Russian companies are also ready to participate in the construction of new hydroelectric power plants, as well as in projects aimed at ensuring the safe operation of water and energy infrastructure and the prudent use of water resources and transboundary rivers," the Russian leader stated.

He also expressed the opinion that transport corridors and logistics projects in Russia and Central Asian countries could be combined into a single network with modern electronic and transport services.

"The key objective appears to be the development of the North-South and East-West trunk routes passing through our countries, as well as the construction of new transcontinental corridors. Subsequently, all these and other Eurasian logistics projects could be integrated into a single network with modern electronic and transport services," the Russian president noted.
