BEIJING, Oct. 10 (Xinhua) — The Office of the National Disaster Prevention, Mitigation and Relief Commission, the Ministry of Emergency Management and the State Food and Material Reserves Administration on Thursday allocated additional funds to provide emergency aid to Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region (GZAR) in south China and Yunnan Province (southwest China) hit by Typhoon Matmo.
According to the Ministry of Emergency Management, the aid package included approximately 20,000 items, including folding beds, blankets, waterproof sleeping pads, emergency lighting, and family emergency kits.
These resources will be used to support local disaster relief efforts and provide assistance to affected people.
Typhoon Matmo, the 21st Pacific hurricane this year, brought heavy rainfall and flooding to the Chinese mainland, Yunnan, and other parts of China. -0-
