BEIJING, Nov. 12 (Xinhua) — The number of trains operating on China-Europe and China-Central Asia routes from the China-SCO Regional Economic and Trade Cooperation Demonstration Zone in Qingdao, east China's Shandong Province, increased by 13.8 percent year-on-year to 1,042 in January-October 2025, exceeding the combined volume of the previous year, setting a new record.

According to the Qingdao Daily newspaper, citing data obtained from the zone administration, 22 regular international railway freight transport routes currently pass through the China-SCO Demonstration Zone, connecting 54 cities in 23 SCO countries and states participating in the Belt and Road Initiative.

In addition, trains specially designed for transporting household appliances, tires, commercial vehicles, and food products regularly depart from the China-SCO Demonstration Zone. China-Europe freight trains carry products from over 7,000 foreign trade enterprises, effectively contributing to the security and stability of global production and supply chains.

The continuous expansion of overseas coverage is an important reason for the rapid growth in the number of China-Europe train departures from the China-SCO Demonstration Zone.

To build an effective cross-border logistics and trade system, the China-SCO Demonstration Zone is constantly expanding the number of overseas logistics hubs and establishing sorting centers in overseas cities such as Belgrade, Almaty, Moscow, and Vientiane, thereby deepening cooperation with key regions.

Zang Yuanqi, the official in charge of the China-SCO Demonstration Zone Administration, announced plans to continue expanding cargo collection capabilities, optimize the distribution of overseas warehouses, accelerate the development of new business forms and models such as "cross-border e-commerce trains" and "cold chain trains," and help SCO countries enter the Asia-Pacific commodity market.

TEHRAN, November 11 (Xinhua) — Iran's Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) said on Tuesday that its intelligence forces had identified and dismantled an "anti-security" network allegedly run by the US and Israeli intelligence agencies.

A statement published on the IRGC's official news portal, Sepah News, noted that the network, consisting of "deceived individuals and traitors to their country," was created by Israel after the 12-day conflict with Iran in mid-June with the aim of undermining the Islamic Republic's national security between November 6 and December 21.

Members of the network were reportedly arrested in coordinated operations across several provinces of the country, although the dates of the operations and the identities of those detained were not specified.

The IRGC intelligence agency views Israel as a "US proxy" in West Asia and accuses it of turning its attention to undermining Iran's public security after its "military failure" in the 12-day conflict. –0–

Beijing, November 11 (Xinhua) — Chinese Commerce Minister Wang Wentao held talks via video link with German Minister for Economic Affairs and Energy Katherine Reiche on Tuesday. The two sides exchanged views on China-Germany and China-EU trade and economic relations.

Noting that China and Germany are important trade and economic partners, Wang Wentao noted that bilateral economic and trade ties have demonstrated progress while maintaining stability, and that practical cooperation in various fields is constantly deepening. China will steadily promote high-level opening-up, create a first-class internationalized business environment, and provide new development opportunities for foreign-invested enterprises, including German companies, the Chinese minister assured.

Addressing the issue surrounding semiconductor manufacturer Nexperia, Wang Wentao emphasized that the root cause of the problem lies in the Dutch government's unlawful interference in the company's internal affairs. Responsibility for the instability and chaos in the global semiconductor supply chain lies with the Dutch government, the Chinese Minister of Commerce stated.

He recalled that the Chinese side, acting responsibly and making maximum efforts, granted exemptions for relevant export shipments, which in the short term helped reduce the burden on global supply chains.

However, to ensure the long-term stability of the global semiconductor supply chain, a constructive approach and practical actions from the Netherlands are needed, Wang Wentao said.

He said China hopes Germany will play an active role in encouraging the Dutch authorities to correct their mistakes, reverse the measures taken earlier, and facilitate a speedy resolution of the problem.

K. Reiche, for her part, stated that the German government is paying particular attention to the development of trade and economic relations with China and admires the successes of the development and viability of the Chinese economy.

Noting that bilateral trade and economic cooperation benefits both sides, K. Reiche emphasized that Germany is ready to strengthen dialogue and exchanges with China, further deepen mutually beneficial cooperation, and promote more balanced and sustainable development of bilateral trade.

The minister stated that Germany is paying particular attention to the Nexperia semiconductor issue and is ready to further strengthen contacts with the Netherlands. –0–

BEIJING, Nov. 11 (Xinhua) — China's Ministry of Commerce said Tuesday it has noted a U.S. announcement that it will suspend for one year, effective Nov. 10, a rule that extends export restrictions to any company that is 50 percent or more owned by parties on U.S. sanctions lists.

As the official representative of the Ministry of Commerce noted, this is an important step for the American side in implementing the consensus reached at the Chinese-American trade and economic consultations in Kuala Lumpur.

As for the course of action after the one-year pause in applying the so-called 50 percent rule ends, the two countries will continue discussions on the matter, the Chinese ministry representative added.

China is willing to work with the United States to firmly adhere to the principles of mutual respect and equal consultation, strengthen dialogue and exchanges, and properly handle differences, so as to create favorable conditions for mutually beneficial cooperation between enterprises of the two countries and ensure the security and stability of global industrial and supply chains, the official representative concluded.
