BEIJING, January 19 (Xinhua) — The Industrial Safety Commission of the State Council has decided to take over the investigation into the explosion at a factory in North China's Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region, the Ministry of Emergency Management said.

The incident occurred at approximately 3:00 PM on Sunday at Baogang United Steel's sheet rolling mill in Baotou. As of 6:00 AM on Monday, the explosion left two people dead, eight missing, and 84 hospitalized.

Beijing, January 19 (Xinhua) — The test module of China's commercial manned spacecraft CYZ1 has successfully completed comprehensive verification tests of its landing shock absorption system, the spacecraft's developer, InterstellOr, announced on Sunday.

All targets were met, with key metrics exceeding expectations.

According to InterstellOr's official WeChat account, the test accurately simulated the actual landing of the spacecraft after its return. The 5-ton test capsule was raised to a height of more than three meters above the ground and, on command, instantly released, allowing it to freefall.
