TIANJIN, Jan. 19 (Xinhua) — The first China-Central Asia freight train running along the Trans-Caspian route departed from the Tianjin Container Center in Tianjin, northern China, on Monday, bound for Azerbaijan's capital, Baku.

This train, loaded with goods such as stainless steel pipes and household appliances, is operated by the Beijing branch of China Railways. It will cross the border at the Khorgos checkpoint in the Xinjiang Uyghur Autonomous Region, northwest China, and arrive at the port of Aktau in Kazakhstan, from where the cargo will be transported to Baku by sea.
