MINSK, Aug. 8 (Xinhua) — Belarus and China have long had warm, friendly relations, Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko said in an interview with the American magazine Time, Belarus Today reported on Friday.

A. Lukashenko noted that he visited China for the first time when he was still a deputy and already then intuitively felt that the future belongs to the PRC. As for the friendly relations between the leaders of Belarus and China, A. MINSK, Aug. 8 (Xinhua) — Belarus is preparing for war every day, every month, in order to avoid it. This was stated by Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko in an interview with the American magazine "Time", "Belarus Today" reported on Friday.

According to the Belarusian leader, Russian partners make a significant contribution to strengthening the country's defense capability. BEIJING, Aug. 8 (Xinhua) — Beijing authorities on Friday announced they would lift restrictions on the purchase of commercial housing outside the city's Fifth Ring Road, the latest move to boost the local property market.

According to a circular issued on Friday, starting from Saturday, August 9, all restrictions on the number of houses purchased outside the Beijing Fifth Ring Road by families with local residence permits, as well as families without local residence permits but with proof of continuous social security or personal income tax payments in Beijing for at least two years, will be lifted.

At the same time, as specified in the document published by the Beijing Public Housing Fund Management Center jointly with the Beijing Committee on Housing, Urban and Rural Development, the same restrictions on purchasing housing apply to unmarried adult citizens who purchase commercial housing in Beijing as to families with local registration.

According to the circular, homebuyers will receive enhanced support from the public housing fund.

Borrower applicants who do not own property in Beijing but have one repaid public housing fund loan nationwide will now be classified as first-time home buyers instead of the previous classification as subsequent home buyers.

In addition, the limit on loans from the public housing fund for the purchase of second homes will be raised from 600,000 yuan (about $84,055) to 1 million yuan. MINSK, Aug. 8 (Xinhua) — Upholding historical justice is a common duty of Belarusians and Chinese, Sergei Vergeichik, an analyst at the Belarusian Institute for Strategic Studies (BISS), told Xinhua in Minsk.

The expert particularly noted that the Chinese people had gone through difficult trials in the fight against the aggression of Japanese militarists, but defended their freedom and independence.

"China was the first to bear the brunt of Japanese militarism and fascism. This is a historical fact. KISUMU, Kenya, Aug. 8 (Xinhua) — At least 22 people were killed in a road accident in western Kenya's Kisumu County on Friday evening, local police said.

Nyanza Provincial Traffic Police Chief Peter Maina said the victims were funeral procession members travelling in a school bus that crashed and overturned at a roundabout in Kisumu.

According to P. Maina, the bus belonging to AIC Naki High School was travelling from Kakamega towards Kisumu when the accident occurred at around 5pm local time.

He noted that the driver allegedly lost control of the vehicle at high speed while approaching a roundabout, drove into the oncoming lane and ended up in a ditch.

"Among the dead are 10 women, 10 men and one girl. The causes of the accident are still being determined," P. Maina told journalists at the scene.

Meanwhile, five people were seriously injured and are undergoing treatment, while another 15 people, including a child, were slightly injured, he added. –0–

CAIRO, Aug. 8 (Xinhua) — At least seven people were killed and 44 injured on Friday when a bus and two trucks collided on a desert highway in Egypt's Giza governorate, Al-Masry Al-Youm website reported.

The preliminary investigation results showed that the bus collided with two trucks that had stopped on the side of the road due to a sudden breakdown.

The front of the bus was reportedly completely destroyed, causing numerous casualties. The injured were taken to nearby hospitals.

BEIJING, Aug. 8 (Xinhua) — China expresses serious concern over Israel's decision on Gaza and calls on it to immediately stop this dangerous move, Foreign Ministry spokesman Guo Jiakun said on Friday.

Guo Jiakun made the remarks when asked to comment on Israel's security cabinet's approval of Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu's plan to establish military control over Gaza City.
