MINSK, Aug. 8 (Xinhua) — Belarus and China have long had warm, friendly relations, Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko said in an interview with the American magazine Time, Belarus Today reported on Friday.

A. Lukashenko noted that he visited China for the first time when he was still a deputy and already then intuitively felt that the future belongs to the PRC. As for the friendly relations between the leaders of Belarus and China, A. Lukashenko recalled how the Chairman of the PRC Xi Jinping asked him to describe the situation in the world at their meeting. “We talked about a lot. We approached the globe /I still have this globe in my office/, and on the map I described the situation as I understood it. I told him about our relations with China,” the Belarusian leader said.

He especially noted that Belarus and China have very strong relations. "My youngest son studies in China. We have already established family-like, one might say, relations with them," A. Lukashenko said and added that this is also evidenced by the format of his communication with the Chairman of the PRC – the leaders discuss bilateral cooperation and the global agenda in an informal setting, and have also visited each other.

“We have long had warm, friendly relations with them,” the President of Belarus summed up. –0–
