London, March 3 (Xinhua) – Britain is sending helicopters and a warship to Cyprus. British Prime Minister Keir Starmer announced this on Tuesday.
"The UK is fully committed to the security of Cyprus and the British military personnel stationed there. We are continuing our defensive operations, and I have just spoken to the President of Cyprus, informing him that we are deploying anti-drone helicopters and that the warship HMS Dragon will be deployed to the region," Starmer wrote on social media.
The British airbase at Akrotiri on the southern coast of Cyprus was attacked by a drone on Monday morning.
