Moscow, November 11 (Xinhua) — Moscow is ready to discuss with Washington the resumption of preparations for the meeting between Russian President Vladimir Putin and US President Donald Trump. Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov stated this in an interview with Russian media on Tuesday.

"We are prepared to discuss the suspicions that our American colleagues have raised regarding our secretive, deep-underground activities, and we are also prepared to discuss with our American colleagues the resumption of preparatory work for the summit of Russian and American leaders they have proposed," the Russian minister said.

As Sergey Lavrov emphasized, Budapest remains the preferred venue for the meeting for the Russian side. "If and when our American colleagues renew their proposal and are ready to begin preparations for the summit, so that it truly ends productively, Budapest will, of course, be our preferred venue," the Russian Foreign Minister stated, noting that Donald Trump, at a recent meeting with Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orbán, also confirmed Budapest's preference for Washington.
