Moscow, Aug. 19 (Xinhua) — A thematic exhibition dedicated to the art of Chinese white porcelain Dehua (Fujian Province) opened on Monday at the China Cultural Center in Moscow. The Russian public is presented with about 170 works by 57 Chinese masters, which can rightfully be considered masterpieces of modern porcelain art Dehua.

Dehua County has long been famous as a place for producing snow-white porcelain. “White as snow, shiny as a mirror, thin as paper” — Dehua porcelain is the perfect embodiment of Chinese aesthetics and craftsmanship. In 2015, the UN World Crafts Council named Dehua County the World Porcelain Capital.

Opening the exhibition, Minister-Counselor of the Chinese Embassy in the Russian Federation, Director of the Chinese Cultural Center in Moscow Feng Litao noted that it is difficult to overestimate the importance and role of porcelain in Chinese culture. “China is the birthplace of porcelain. It is not just an item for everyday use, but also the embodiment of philosophy, Chinese aesthetics and centuries-old technical achievements,” he said.

Chairman of the Standing Committee of the People's Congress of Dehua County Chen Weiqi emphasized that the exhibition "Chinese White Porcelain of Dehua" is a link, a starting point in the dialogue on the art of the East. "This is a positive response to the cross-cultural Years of Russia and China and a bright "coming out" of Dehua ceramics abroad," he noted, expressing hope that the exhibition will allow Russian visitors to fully experience the charm of Chinese white porcelain, as well as understand the spirituality and depth of Chinese philosophy.

According to the director of the All-Russian Museum of Decorative Arts, Tatyana Rybkina, Dehua white porcelain is a striking example of how China preserves its cultural heritage.

The exhibition features figurines, vases, flowers, as well as tea sets and decorations. All exhibits demonstrate the skill of the craftsmen and combine modern design with a commitment to tradition.

"I really liked the vase with chrysanthemums, the composition with fish. And what poetic philosophical names these figurines have! I bow down and respect the Chinese people for their hard work and striving for perfection," retiree Valentina shared her impressions of the exhibition with a Xinhua correspondent.

At the opening of the exhibition, a master class on modeling from white clay was organized, where everyone could try themselves in the role of masters and mold a rosebud. “It was not easy to create these petals, to beat them with your hands. Each detail had to be masterfully made,” said Muscovite Maria.

In addition, during the opening ceremony of the exhibition, the Dehua County Porcelain Development Committee and the Moscow Chamber of Commerce and Industry signed a memorandum of intent.

The exhibition is organized by the China Center for International Exchange and Promotion of Tourism, the Chinese Cultural Center in Moscow, and the Dehua County Administration with the support of the Dehua County Ceramic Industry Development Center. The exhibition will run until August 31. –0–

BEIJING, Aug. 19 (Xinhua) — The volume of chemical fertilizer imports through Manzhouli Port in north China's Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region reached 216,000 tons from May to July 2025, up 11-fold from the same period last year, the General Administration of Customs said Monday, citing data from Manzhouli Customs.

In order to fully ensure the stable, safe and efficient supply of feedstock in summer, Manzhouli Customs has comprehensively adopted customs facilitation measures such as “pre-registration inspection”, and made efforts to improve customs inspection efficiency through the railway panoramic logistics platform.

At the same time, the above-mentioned customs has drawn up a plan to monitor the risks of imported chemical fertilizers, and has strengthened the inspection of indicators such as the content of heavy metals and the ratio of nutrients, in order to strictly control the quality of imported chemical fertilizers.

Li Meng, manager of Tianyu Logistics Co., Ltd. in Inner Mongolia, said that with the increase in orders, the customs' green corridor and efficient operation have eased the problem of handling chemical fertilizers, helping to better serve customers. -0-

SAN FRANCISCO, Aug. 19 (Xinhua) — The Donald Trump administration is considering buying a 10 percent stake in Intel Corp. to shore up the U.S. semiconductor industry and help the chipmaker weather its difficulties, U.S. media reported Monday, citing people familiar with the matter who declined to be named.

They said they had discussed converting $10.86 billion in recent federal grants into a stake in Intel, a deal that would make the U.S. government the corporation's largest shareholder.

It remains unclear whether the idea enjoys broad support within the administration, what the exact size of the stake will be, or whether the government intends to follow through on the plan.

The New York Times and Bloomberg also report, citing people familiar with the matter, that it is unclear whether the Trump administration will pursue similar deals with other companies that received funding under the Chip and Science Act.

White House deputy press secretary Kush Desai declined to comment on the details of the talks, saying no agreement should be considered official unless the government formally announced it.

The Commerce Department, which oversees the Chip and Science Act, declined to comment. Intel has not yet issued a statement.

Industry analysts say the plan, if implemented, would be one of the largest government interventions in a U.S. company since the 2008 financial crisis. –0–
