Ding Xuexiang called for consistently strengthening and enhancing Hong Kong's status as an international financial, shipping, and trade hub, as well as fully leveraging its advantages in education, science, technology, and talent to promote the long-term prosperity and stability of the SAR. Ding Xuexiang also emphasized the need to further advance the development of the Guangdong-Macao Deepened Cooperation Zone on Hengqin Island.

Tehran, March 7 (Xinhua) — An Iranian military spokesman said on Saturday that "enemy ships" entering the Persian Gulf "will end up at the bottom" of the waterway. Several media outlets reported this.

Meanwhile, according to a statement published on the official news portal Sepah News, the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) struck a Marshall Islands-flagged oil tanker in the central Persian Gulf, which they said was a US asset.

BEIJING, March 7 (Xinhua) — Recent actions by Netherlands-headquartered semiconductor company Nexperia, owned by China's Wingtech, have seriously disrupted normal production operations, China's Ministry of Commerce said Saturday, warning that the Dutch company should bear full responsibility if the moves lead to a new crisis in the global semiconductor industry and its supply chains.

Cairo, March 7 (Xinhua) — Kuwait Petroleum Corporation (KPC), a major state-owned oil corporation in Kuwait, announced on Saturday a preventive cut in crude oil production and refining.

Citing rising tensions in the region, KPC said in a statement that the adjustment was "strictly precautionary" and that the company "remains fully prepared to restore production volumes as soon as conditions permit."
