In 2025, thanks to federal mechanisms for protecting the rights of defrauded equity holders, 12 apartment buildings previously considered problematic were commissioned. Decisions on these buildings had previously been made by the Supervisory Board of the Territorial Development Fund.

"The issue of citizens participating in shared construction projects who suffered at the hands of unscrupulous developers, which was extremely painful until recently, has largely diminished thanks to the extensive work of the government. Currently, the decisions previously made by the Supervisory Board of the Territorial Development Fund are being implemented. In 2025, the FDT will complete 12 apartment buildings with a total area of approximately 232,000 square meters in eight regions: Perm and Khabarovsk Krais, Ulyanovsk, Rostov, Novosibirsk, and Omsk Oblasts, Khanty-Mansi Autonomous Okrug – Yugra, and Sevastopol. These apartments are intended for more than 2,300 citizens. Since 2019, thanks to federal and regional mechanisms, the rights of 261,100 affected shareholders have been restored," said Marat Khusnullin, Deputy Prime Minister and Chairman of the FDT Supervisory Board.

At the federal level, the Territorial Development Fund provides assistance to affected equity holders by directly completing problematic projects or paying compensation based on supervisory board decisions. Regional mechanisms, which regions independently choose, include attracting new investors, providing compensatory housing, or paying compensation.

"Using federal mechanisms and the work of the Territorial Development Fund, the rights of 123,900 equity holders have been restored since 2019. Of these, 62,500 received their square meters, and 61,400 received compensation payments. Regional measures have allowed the rights of over 137,200 equity construction participants to be restored," noted Vasily Kupyzin, CEO of the Territorial Development Fund.

For example, in 2025, the Federal Resources Fund (FRF) completed construction on a 28-story building with a total floor area of over 20,800 square meters on Dusi Kovalchuk Street in Novosibirsk. Apartments in this building are intended for 307 affected equity holders.

In Omsk, in the Kirovsky Administrative District, construction has been completed on two buildings on Pereleta Street. The 16,600 square meter building houses 333 defrauded equity holders. The second building, with a total area of 9,800 square meters, will house 139 people. A building at 15 Tarskaya Street and 15 Yakovlev Street has also been completed in Omsk. This building, with an area of approximately 47,000 square meters, will provide housing for 220 equity holders.

A 17-story building with a total floor area of 28,500 square meters has been commissioned in Surgut, Khanty-Mansi Autonomous Okrug – Yugra, located at Building 2, Microdistrict 44. The new building is designed for 323 equity holders.

The Federal Revenue Service also completed construction of a building in Khabarovsk at 1 Saltykova-Shchedrina Street. The approximately 45,000 square-meter apartment building is intended for 400 affected equity holders.

In Novocherkassk, Rostov Oblast, a building measuring over 9,000 square meters has been commissioned for 36 equity holders at 18 Dubovskogo Street.

Additionally, two projects were completed in Perm Krai: a 26-story building at 110A Karpinsky Street and a 20-story building at 108 Karpinsky Street. These buildings are designed for 322 equity holders.

In the Ulyanovsk region, a 12-story residential building at 67 Krasnoarmeyskaya Street has been commissioned, where housing rights have been restored for 160 equity construction participants.

In Sevastopol, construction has been completed and two 11-story buildings for 92 equity holders have been commissioned at 29A Pobedy Avenue, Buildings 1 and 2.

On January 27, an Arab delegation visited the State University of Management to conclude a cooperation agreement.

Samah Bashir Abbas, Director of the autonomous non-profit organization for the promotion of the development and dissemination of Arabic language knowledge and familiarization with Arab culture, "Arab Dream," and his deputy, Al-Moghalis Ahmed Abduljalil Mohamed, met with Dmitry Bryukhanov, Acting Rector of the State University of Management, to discuss future collaboration and opportunities for further expansion.

The meeting was also attended by Sergei Karseka, Advisor to the Rector's Office of the State University of Management, Inessa Bogatyreva, Head of the International Cooperation Department, and Konstantin Vinogradov, Head of the International Projects Implementation Department.

The Arab guests noted the importance of establishing cooperation across all areas for friendly countries today and proposed opening an Arabic Language Center at the State University of Management.

"Now is the time to support each other. We want to develop together in a wide variety of areas. We have common interests in both education and science. We are primarily interested in the possibility of establishing Arabic language centers in Russia and Russian language centers in Arab countries. We have already opened such centers in several countries, and this has been a valuable experience," said Samah Bashir Abbas.

Dmitry Bryukhanov agreed that students are eager to learn Arabic, and opening a center for its study would be an excellent start to collaboration.

"Today, Arab countries are friendly to Russia, and many avenues for cooperation between countries and specialists are opening up. Of course, it's more convenient to do this through knowledge of each other's languages. We'll start by launching a continuing professional education program and will work systematically together to open a center and implement other forms of collaboration, including network programs," Dmitry Yuryevich suggested.

The guest was also interested in the possibility of student exchanges, online and offline lectures, the implementation of a double degree program, and advanced training courses for representatives of Arab countries at the State University of Management.

Having concluded their discussions on the key aspects of opening the Arabic Language Study Center with internships in Arab countries, the parties signed a cooperation agreement and agreed to further collaboration within working groups.

The Russian-Chinese film "Red Silk" has become a true sociocultural phenomenon, says the CEO of the Russian media holding "National Media Group."

Moscow, January 27 /Xinhua/ — The joint Russian-Chinese film project "Red Silk" was a commercial success and, according to Moscow, has become a significant socio-political event in 2025. This project has given a significant boost to the development of cooperation between the two countries in the field of cinematography.

"Undoubtedly, one of the highlights of 2025, and an example of Russian-Chinese co-production, was the feature film 'Red Silk.' This historical adventure detective story has generated great interest among audiences in both countries," Anna Yarina, Director of the Cinematography Department of the Russian Ministry of Culture, noted in an interview with Xinhua.

In May 2025, the Ministry of Culture of the Russian Federation and the State Film Administration of the People's Republic of China signed an Action Plan for Joint Film Production until 2030. The document outlines several areas of cooperation, including the creation of joint films and the strengthening of direct contacts between Russian and Chinese film industry figures and relevant organizations.

According to Svetlana Balanova, CEO of the Russian media holding National Media Group (NMG), which co-produced the film Red Silk and organized and facilitated its large-scale distribution in Russia, "the film has become a true socio-cultural phenomenon, and even, in its own way, a socio-political event."

The initial idea behind the project, implemented by the production team, general producer Vadim Byrkin and director Andrey Volgin, was to create a film that Russian audiences would perceive as Russian, and Chinese audiences as Chinese. "In this sense, we managed to overcome the difficulty of character balance: the film features both Russian and Chinese protagonists. And, of course, such a film had to be made as a co-production," emphasized the NMG CEO.

"We see 'Red Silk' as the first step in implementing a systemic approach that will help us mutually promote the best national films and jointly create films that demonstrate the shared values of the two nations," she added.

The film, which became "the largest joint Russian-Chinese film project in modern history," was a commercial success. "In terms of box office receipts, the film met our expectations at both Russian and Chinese box offices, consistently reaching the top of the charts throughout its run," noted S. Balanova. According to her, the "Red Silk" project was also important in terms of sharing experience and introducing the latest technologies into filmmaking. "The implementation of joint Russian-Chinese film projects is a driver of development and the introduction of the latest technologies into filmmaking, as well as the exchange of experience between two great national film schools, which the Chinese and Russian schools are rightfully considered to be," she noted.

"In 2026, the film dialogue between our countries will continue actively, both at the state level and between major media holdings, film companies, and specialized organizations," noted A. Yarina. "A number of projects by Russian filmmakers are already being developed with their Chinese colleagues, including the second part of the historical film 'Red Silk,' 'Black Silk.'" –0–

RUDN University students shared their success stories

Translation. Region: Russian Federation –

An important disclaimer is at the bottom of this article.

Every ecologist has their own path, their own orbit, their own mission. Some build careers at major corporations, some make scientific breakthroughs, others educate, inspire, and change consciousness through sports, culture, or social activism. But they all share one thing: a commitment to a sustainable future.

Students and graduates of the RUDN University Institute of Ecology don't just study nature—they shape a sustainable future, already becoming recognized professionals and thought leaders. Their unique and vibrant trajectories, like a mosaic, form a coherent picture of the success of Russian environmental education. In honor of World Environmental Education Day, which took place on January 26, we're sharing the success stories of some of our students.

The path of a leader and strategist

Evgeny Vorozhtsov, a master's student at the Institute of Ecology, has built his work at the intersection of science, state youth policy, and environmental education.

Here are some of his achievements:

Medalist of the "I Am a Professional" Olympiad; 1st place diploma holder of the 4th Open International Internet Ecology Olympiad; member of the Governing Council of the International Club of Sustainable Development Leaders; winner of the Alfa-Bank grant competition; 2nd place in the International Youth Ecological Case Tournament (as part of a team); winner of the international "Ecology is Everyone's Business" award for the creation of two interactive games to teach people about conscious consumption and caring for nature; winner of the 6th All-Russian Case Championship MIR (as part of a team).

The student's competencies were recognized with letters of gratitude from the Ministry of Ecology and Natural Resources of the Russian Federation, the Ministry of Science and Higher Education of the Russian Federation, and the Federal Agency for Youth Affairs.

"Since my undergraduate studies, studies, research, and extracurricular activities have been the foundation of my life. I'm currently working on the federal project "Your Move," implementing competition mechanics across the country, continuing my research in decarbonization, and planning to enroll in graduate school at RUDN University. This is a conscious choice, to which I dedicate all my time. In 2025, I led the "Headmen" program. During the program, students reflected on their experiences participating in the "Your Move, Headman!" competition, co-authored useful materials, and shared their vision for the competition's development in the new season. The students also met with Olga Petrova, Deputy Minister of Science and Higher Education of the Russian Federation," said Evgeny Vorozhtsov.

The path of a scientist and innovator

Svetlana Katruk exemplifies a brilliant research career. She is a regular participant and speaker at international conferences in Russian and English, a finalist in the "Your Move" competition with her "Ecological Workshop" project, a finalist in the Mosoblgaz JSC innovation project competition, and the chair of the RUDN University School of EHS Management.

"The 'Ecological Workshop' project helps student ecologists learn about environmental protection trends and understand how to realize their potential as young professionals. The project included expert workshops from representatives of Clean Arctic, Ecosystem, the Friends of Protected Islands movement, and other environmental leaders. Students also received step-by-step instructions on developing and launching their initiatives," said Svetlana Katruk.

Her research has spanned an impressive geography, from Minin University to the International Winter and Summer Schools on Environmental Safety and Digitalization of Agriculture. She has also distinguished herself as an organizer, leading the international family history festival "GenExpo-2025."

The path of the enlightener and guide

Arina Bessonova is a graduate of the "Live and Create in Russia!" program, winner of the MYVMESTE International Award in the "Mentoring of the Year" category, and an ambassador for the award. She chose the path of environmental education and ideological leadership. Having studied in Ivanovo, Kemerovo, and Moscow, she became an advocate for youth policy values. As a semi-finalist in the "I am a Professional" Olympiad and a participant in the Nevsky International Ecological Congress and the "Earthlings" Forum, Arina actively works to implement formats and projects aimed at environmental conservation.

"For example, I participated in the 14th International Environmental Olympiad of CIS Universities. Together with my team, I developed a project to reclaim a solid waste landfill in the village of Borisovka in the Krasnodar Territory. I also organize battery collection at the university and participate in environmental campaigns and cleanup days," says Arina Bessonova.

The Path of a Creator and a Practitioner: Ekaterina Kostenko, a third-year student, has already received a corporate award from the industrial giant Norilsk Nickel in the "Creators" category. Her community service, which began in school, has now evolved into real-world work incorporating environmental initiatives into company projects and providing career guidance to schoolchildren.

"Being a student leader at RUDN University really helps me develop my leadership skills, which I actively use in my work. I plan to further develop Norilsk Nickel's environmental projects. For example, the environmental marathon 'Poneslos' (Here We Go), where employees and their families work on greening the area, promoting environmental education, and studying biodiversity in the Far North," says Ekaterina Kostenko.

These different, yet so resonant stories confirm that environmental education at RUDN University is not a narrow specialization, but a universal foundation for leadership in any field. It is an opportunity to speak the language of science with business, the language of projects with the government, and the language of values with the entire world.
