AVANTI is an association of more than 10,000 Russian entrepreneurs, supporting, among other things, small and medium businesses and youth entrepreneurship.

Vladimir Vitalyevich told the guest about the historical role of the State University of Management in the development of entrepreneurship in our country and about the opportunities and programs in this area that the university provides today.

"The predecessor of the State University of Management was the Aleksandrovskoye Commercial School, where many famous merchants and bankers of that time studied, for example, the Morozovs and Lapins. Later, in 1990, it was here that the first department of entrepreneurship in the country was created. Today, we also help students develop entrepreneurial thinking, for example, through project-based learning, meetings with successful businessmen, master classes, and so on," noted Vladimir Stroyev.

During the conversation, the parties discussed possible vectors of cooperation and agreed on a future meeting.

Deputy Prime Minister – Presidential Plenipotentiary Representative in the Far Eastern Federal District, Chairman of the Organizing Committee of the Eastern Economic Forum Yuri Trutnev held a meeting on the issue of preparations for the tenth Eastern Economic Forum.

"We continue to prepare for the anniversary Eastern Economic Forum. The EEF gives impetus to the development of the Far East, new investment projects are coming to the Far Eastern regions. It was from the Far East that the territories of advanced development, the "Hectare" program, preferential mortgages and master plans for the development of cities began. Residents of the Far East feel the changes. New enterprises and airports are being built, jobs are being created. Obviously, there is still much to do. Continuing to work on the implementation of the President's instructions, we must clearly understand that the Far East plays a special role today. It is expected that about six thousand people will take part in the forum. The geography of participants already covers 36 countries and territories.

The architecture of the EEF-2025 program was previously published. The main theme of the forum is "The Far East – cooperation for peace and prosperity." The business events of the forum are divided into thematic blocks: "The Far East – a territory for life and development", "Recipes for growth: investments, innovations, integration", "Openness and mutually beneficial partnership – the basis of stability", "Technologies: from theory to economic effects", "Cities – for people's lives" and "Arteries of growth: how logistics changes the economy". It was also decided to allocate an additional track "In partnership between business and the state: a major reassembly". In total, the business program currently includes more than 90 sessions.

The rich business program will be aimed at recording current results and will help to identify promising areas for the future economy in the macro-region. This speaks to the high interest of our partners in an equal and mutually beneficial dialogue that Russia is ready to offer to the world community," emphasized Anton Kobyakov, Advisor to the President and Executive Secretary of the EEF Organizing Committee.

The head of the Primorsky Territory and Vladivostok, Oleg Kozhemyako, spoke about the preparations for the 10th Eastern Economic Forum in Primorsky Krai and Vladivostok. According to him, more than two hundred events are planned within the framework of the "road map" for preparing the infrastructure of the region and the city of Vladivostok for the EEF. Headquarters are working to ensure public order, citizen safety and electricity supply. 455 volunteers have been trained.

Rector of the Far Eastern Federal University Boris Korobets reported on the preparation of the campus and territory of the Far Eastern Federal University for the forum. For the fourth year in a row, a lecture for students and youth of Primorye will be held during the EEF with the support of the Roscongress Foundation and the Russian Knowledge Society. This year, one of the main topics of the lecture will be "Homeland: History, Traditions, Unity", dedicated to the 80th anniversary of Victory in the Great Patriotic War and World War II. 350 students will take part in the lecture in person, another 8.5 million people will join the event online.

In addition, on the sidelines of the forum, an exhibition of federal government bodies "Welcome to the Far East!" will be held in the main building of FEFU. Traditionally, the exhibition "Far East Street" will be held. All eleven Far Eastern regions will present their pavilions. GENEVA, Aug. 8 (Xinhua) — World Health Organization (WHO) Director-General Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus said on Thursday that desperation in the Gaza Strip had led to a breakdown in law and order, calling for the creation of humanitarian corridors to evacuate people in need of urgent medical care outside the enclave.

“People are dying not only from hunger and disease, but also in a desperate search for food,” the WHO director-general said at a briefing in Geneva, noting that since May 27, more than 1,600 people have died and almost 12,000 have been injured while trying to collect food from distribution points.

Gazans have limited access to basic services, face constant displacement and are currently suffering from a blockade of food supplies, he said.

“Malnutrition is widespread and deaths from hunger are rising,” he said, adding that nearly 12,000 children under five suffered from acute malnutrition in July, the highest monthly figure ever.

Overcrowding and deteriorating water, sanitation and hygiene conditions have allowed diseases to continue to spread, seriously affecting the health of the youngest people, he said.

On July 29, the UN Food and Agriculture Organization, the World Food Programme and the UN Children's Fund issued a joint statement warning that the Gaza Strip was at risk of full-scale famine as key food and nutrition indicators continued to deteriorate.

The WHO Director-General said the organization had assisted in the evacuation of 7,522 patients from Gaza since the conflict began in October 2023, but more than 14,800 patients in the enclave still urgently need specialized medical care. BEIJING, Aug. 8 (Xinhua) — The Made in Russia festival and fair will be held in Beijing's Central Business District (CBD) from Aug. 28 to 30. The event will coincide with Chinese Valentine's Day (Qixi Festival, celebrated on the 7th day of the 7th month according to the lunar calendar), which falls on Aug. 29 this year.

The festival, organized by the Russian Export Center (REC, VEB Group) with the support of the governments of Russia and China, will bring together more than 40 companies from 26 regions of Russia.

The fair will feature over 500 types of food products, cosmetics, souvenirs, and folk crafts. Guests of the event will be able to try and buy products, learn about Russian traditions, and also chat with a special guest of the festival.

During the festival, popular Chinese bloggers will be broadcasting live. Thanks to this, millions of viewers across China will be able to get acquainted with Russian goods and immediately purchase them in online stores “Made in Russia” on local marketplaces.

"Russian companies have serious export potential in China. They value quality, eco-friendliness and naturalness – everything that distinguishes Russian brands," noted Veronika Nikishina, General Director of the Russian Export Center.

According to her, the upcoming fair will continue the series of successful “Made in Russia” festivals, which over the past year and a half have taken place in Dalian, Chengdu, Harbin, Shenyang and demonstrated the keen interest of Chinese partners and consumers in “Made in Russia”.

According to the REC, the festival guests will also enjoy a rich cultural program. Performances by folk groups, national music and dances will create a festive atmosphere and make the event a notable event in the cultural life of Beijing.

BEIJING, Aug. 8 (Xinhua) — In the first seven months of this year, financial institutions in the Chinese part of the China-Kazakhstan International Cross-Border Cooperation Center (ICBC) "Khorgos", located in the city of the same name in northwest China's Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region (XUAR), reported the cross-border movement of 38 batches of cash, including 471 million yuan and 450 million tenge, the Xinjiang Daily newspaper reported, citing data from customs services of the ICBC "Khorgos".
