BEIJING, Sept. 19 (Xinhua) — From January to August this year, a total of 42,435 foreign-invested enterprises were established on the Chinese mainland, up 14.8 percent year-on-year, the Ministry of Commerce reported Friday.

According to the agency, during the reporting period, the volume of realized foreign direct investment (FDI) amounted to 506.58 billion yuan (about 71.22 billion US dollars), a decrease of 12.7 percent year-on-year.

UN, Sept. 19 (Xinhua) — The UN General Assembly (UNGA) on Friday adopted a draft resolution on the participation of the State of Palestine in the work of its 80th session in connection with the US denial of visas to some Palestinian representatives.

The draft resolution was adopted by 145 votes in favor, five against, and six abstentions. BEIJING, Sept. 19 (Xinhua) — China and the United States can achieve mutual success and shared prosperity, benefiting both countries and the world, Chinese President Xi Jinping said Friday.

Addis Ababa, September 19 (Xinhua) — The number of registered cases of monkeypox (the new name for monkeypox) in Africa since the beginning of 2024 has exceeded 190,000, with the death toll approaching 2,000, the Africa Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (Africa CDC) reported on Thursday.

Brussels, September 19 (Xinhua) — European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen on Friday announced the Commission's proposals for a 19th package of anti-Russian sanctions, targeting mainly the energy and financial sectors.

Yerevan, September 19 (Xinhua) — Armenian Deputy Prime Minister Mher Grigoryan announced the launch of a high-level political dialogue between Armenia and the European Union (EU) on Friday. He made the announcement in Yerevan in a joint statement with EU Enlargement Commissioner Marta Kos following bilateral discussions.

Tbilisi, September 19 (Xinhua) — Kyrgyzstan became Georgia's largest export destination in January-August 2025, while the United States was the main source of imports, the Georgian National Statistics Office reported on Friday.

According to preliminary data from the agency, Georgia's ten largest export partners accounted for 79.8 percent of the country's total exports. Kyrgyzstan ranked first among the largest export destinations, with $943.1 million. Kazakhstan ranked second with $572.9 million, and Russia ranked third with $480.7 million.
