Hohhot, November 2 (Xinhua) — As of October 30, the total volume of exports and imports through the Ereen Railway Port of North China's Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region since the beginning of 2025 reached more than 15.01 million tons, an increase of 4 percent year-on-year. This represents an 11-day increase from last year, according to the Hohhot branch of China State Railway Corporation.

To ensure the stable and efficient development of cross-border freight transport, the Erenhot railway checkpoint and the Mongolian border crossing of Dzamyn-Ude have implemented an integrated transportation management system that allows them to promptly inform each other about rail transport flows.

In addition, the Erenhot Railway Checkpoint also uses the “Digital Checkpoint” system to continuously promote paperless customs clearance, deepen communication and coordination with border control, customs and other departments, and optimize customs inspection procedures, which has greatly improved the efficiency of customs clearance of export and import cargo. -0-

HARBIN, Nov. 2 (Xinhua) — China's new T1400 unmanned helicopter successfully completed its maiden flight, marking a major step toward the "ton-class" era for China's low-altitude technology.

The T1400 helicopter was developed by Harbin United Aircraft Technology Co., Ltd., which is part of United Aircraft Group, headquartered in Shenzhen, southern China.

The aircraft recently completed a series of maneuvers during its maiden test flight in Harbin, the capital of Heilongjiang Province in northeastern China. These maneuvers included hovering, route flight, and precision landing.

According to Tian Gangyin, Chairman of the United Aircraft Group, the T1400 helicopter, with a maximum takeoff weight of 1,400 kg, represents a breakthrough in both payload capacity and flight endurance, eliminating the long-standing limitations of industrial drones in these two respects.

The T1400 helicopter has a maximum payload of 650 kg, equivalent to the weight of over 10 adults, and a maximum flight endurance of over 8 hours. Designed for operation in extreme conditions, it operates in temperatures ranging from minus 40 degrees Celsius to 55 degrees Celsius, reaches a service ceiling of 6,500 meters, and can withstand strong winds.

Designed and manufactured in Harbin, the T1400 is primarily designed to serve the vast farmland, forests, lakes and rivers of Heilongjiang Province, and can also be used in agriculture, logistics and emergency rescue, said Tian Gangyin, adding that the aircraft will be deployed nationwide in the future.

As a major grain-producing region and forest base in China, Heilongjiang Province has become a key market for the development of the low-altitude economy. In recent years, it has implemented a number of measures to accelerate the development of this sector, aiming to achieve breakthroughs in low-altitude airspace reform and create application scenarios with regional characteristics by 2027.

China's low-altitude economy received a significant boost after its inclusion in the 2024 Government Work Report, where it was identified as a new growth driver.

The sector's market size is expected to reach 1.5 trillion yuan (about $211.6 billion) in 2025, and could reach 3.5 trillion yuan in 2035, according to a forecast by the Civil Aviation Administration of China. -0-

HARBIN, Nov. 2 (Xinhua) — The ski season at the Beiji (North Pole) Resort in Beijicun Village, Mohe City, northeast China's Heilongjiang Province, kicked off on Nov. 1, marking the start of a snow and ice tourism boom this winter in the province bordering Russia.

This resort is one of the northernmost open-air ski resorts in China, boasting a long ski season that delights skiers for nearly six months: from early November until mid- or late April of the following year. Here, you can not only enjoy winter sports but also immerse yourself in the beauty of snow-covered forests.

As one of the first visitors to the resort this winter, Geng Yuechao, a tourist from eastern China's Shandong Province, said the ski resorts in Mohe open earlier than many others each year, offering spacious and wide ski runs with breathtaking views and excellent visual experiences, making skiing a great experience for him.

This year, in anticipation of the upcoming season, the Beiji Resort has upgraded its infrastructure: it has built an additional ski slope, renovated its tourist service and reception center, and purchased 500 sets of winter sports equipment to better meet the needs of visitors.

Besides skiing, this resort also offers activities such as snow tug-of-war, snow soccer and snowmobiling, which attract a large number of tourists with their atmosphere of fun and excitement. -0-

BEIJING, Nov. 2 (Xinhua) — Chinese President Xi Jinping on Saturday sent a congratulatory message to Egyptian President Abdel Fattah el-Sisi on the occasion of the opening of the Grand Egyptian Museum.

In his message, Xi Jinping expressed his sincere congratulations to A.F. el-Sisi and the Egyptian people on the opening of the museum.

The Chinese leader expressed confidence that the Grand Egyptian Museum will leave a deep mark on Egypt's cultural history and play an important role in preserving and transmitting ancient Egyptian civilization from generation to generation.

He noted that China and Egypt have long-standing friendly relations, and their comprehensive strategic partnership has been developing rapidly in recent years.

According to the Chinese President, the two countries have established active and diverse humanitarian and cultural exchanges. The Shanghai Museum successfully hosted a major exhibition dedicated to ancient Egyptian civilization, and a joint Chinese-Egyptian archaeological expedition is currently working beneath the pyramids of Saqqara, exploring the mysteries of ancient Egyptian civilization.

“It is gratifying to see how two ancient civilizations are drawn to each other, and how the two peoples are becoming ever closer through mutual understanding and friendship,” Xi Jinping noted.

The modern world is experiencing changes unseen in the last century. China and Egypt, two ancient civilizations, must continue to deepen exchanges and mutual learning between civilizations, inject new impetus into their comprehensive strategic partnership, and promote the building of a community with a shared future for humanity, the Chinese leader added.

Vladivostok, November 2 (Xinhua) – China, as a key member of APEC, has always been actively involved in regional economic cooperation, promoting economic integration in the Asia-Pacific region and the implementation of the Sustainable Development Goals. It has also repeatedly recognized the forum's invaluable contribution to advancing global openness and development. This was stated by Marina Dubrovshchenko, Assistant Professor of the Department of Chinese Studies at the Far Eastern Federal University's Institute of Oriental Studies, in an interview with Xinhua.

She recalled how, at the 30th APEC Economic Leaders' Meeting, Chinese President Xi Jinping emphasized that APEC economies were jointly creating the Asia-Pacific miracle.

"If, after examining myself, I find I'm right, then nothing and no one can block the path to truth." With these words, the Chinese leader, quoting the great philosopher Mencius, outlined the need to implement the organization's initiatives (APEC) in the interests of the shared prosperity of the peoples of the participating economies," said M. Dubrovskchenko.

She noted that China has long been pursuing this strategy. In particular, in recent years, a number of initiatives have been put forward, including promoting the Belt and Road Initiative, facilitating the creation of the Asia-Pacific Free Trade Area, developing digital villages, implementing digital identity for companies, and supporting green transformation.

In her view, the digital village initiative aims to modernize agriculture and improve rural life through digital technologies. Leading e-commerce platforms like Taobao and Pinduoduo are focused on creating a nationwide agricultural marketing system through which farmers can directly sell their goods to consumers across the country. This approach is currently being studied, adapted, and implemented in several countries in Southeast Asia (Thailand, Vietnam, Indonesia, the Philippines) and Latin America (Chile, Peru).

The Digital Corporate Identity Initiative aims to create a universal, secure, and mutually recognized digital identification system for legal entities to facilitate business operations both domestically and within APEC. As part of the forum, China, Singapore, and the Republic of Korea are exploring the possibility of creating an end-to-end digital identity system to ensure mutual recognition of digital signatures and certificates for cross-border trade. Thailand and the Philippines are exploring China's "single-window" model to simplify foreign trade procedures.

The initiative to promote green and low-carbon transformation through digital technologies aims to optimize resource use and reduce emissions. Currently, Canada, Australia, New Zealand, and other countries are interested in China's experience in scaling up these technologies. These countries are studying China's solutions for managing traffic flows and energy consumption as part of their smart city development strategy.

M. Dubrovskchenko stated that, to accelerate the implementation of these areas, China regularly holds seminars and working group meetings within APEC, sharing its developments in digital agriculture, low-carbon development, and e-commerce. China's experience is becoming an important catalyst for the entire Asia-Pacific region in these key areas. APEC economies see Chinese solutions as proven and scalable models that can help accelerate their own digital and sustainable development.

"2026, the year of China's APEC Presidency, will be a key platform for significantly advancing these initiatives. These initiatives could not only be expanded but also form the foundation for a new phase of regional cooperation. This is a strategic opportunity for China to shape the regional agenda in key areas, strengthen economic ties, and demonstrate global leadership in digital and green technologies," said M. Dubrovshchenko.
