BEIJING, November 10 (Xinhua) — China and Central Asia will explore cooperation opportunities in industrialization, digitalization, and green transformation of the construction industry, the Ministry of Housing, Urban-Rural Development said on Sunday.

According to the agency, the China-Central Asia Construction Ministers' Meeting 2025 was recently held in Beijing. Construction ministers and departmental representatives from China, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan, and Uzbekistan discussed strengthening practical cooperation and jointly promoting high-quality development in housing construction, as well as urban and rural development.

Following the meeting, the Beijing Initiative was adopted and an important consensus was reached on the construction of safe, comfortable, green, and smart "beautiful homes," promoting the construction of new cities and new districts and urban renewal, as well as exploring opportunities for cooperation in industrialization, digitalization, and the green transformation of the construction industry.

SEOUL, November 10 (Xinhua) — A Chinese fishing vessel capsized in waters off Eocheon Island, approximately 180 kilometers south of the South Korean capital, Seoul. Nine crew members are believed to have been on board, the Renhap News Agency reported on Monday.

SHANGHAI, Nov. 9 (Xinhua) — At the 8th China International Import Expo (CIIE), Kazakhstan, known for its agro-industrial complex, is displaying a wide range of products, including sausages, chocolate, ice cream, fruit juice and dairy products, attracting numerous visitors, as well as buyers and industry professionals.

Sixty-five companies from Kazakhstan are participating in the current exhibition, which is taking place from November 5 to 10 in the eastern Chinese city of Shanghai, the CIIE Bureau reported.

Karat TOO Marketing Manager Asiya Otelbay said, "This year we're just entering the Chinese market and participating in this exhibition for the first time." Having received permission to sell in China, the company is currently successfully undergoing laboratory quality testing for its products ready for export, she added.

"We primarily supply first- and second-grade flour to China. We are currently making our first shipment of premium flour to Yiwu (Zhejiang Province, eastern China), which will be completed this month," said Asiya Otelbay.

She also stated: “We expect to enter into contracts and find trade distributors to distribute our products online, that is, in supermarkets and stores.”

At the stand of the company “Fruit Lab”, participating in CIIE, the apple puree attracted the attention of visitors with its original packaging design.

According to company volunteer Adil Abdikarim, in Almaty, a city always associated with apples, apple trees grow in mountain forests or specially designated areas. Because of this, the fruit is considered more natural and juicy than those grown elsewhere.

“We supply applesauce to China, completely natural, without any chemicals or additives,” he said.

According to the company's China Sales Director, Oleg Akulinin, they began supplying products to the Chinese market in 2017 and now export approximately 100 tons of products to China annually. He stated that their company's ice cream is currently sold through distributors throughout China.
