Belém /Brazil/, November 10 / – The 30th Conference of the Parties to the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change /COP30/, or the COP30 climate summit for short, opened on Monday in the Brazilian city of Belém with the aim of returning the fight against climate change to the center of international priorities, local authorities said.

Gaborone, November 11 (Xinhua) — Botswana President Duma Boko on Monday called for innovation, investment and partnership to drive economic transformation and build a stronger country.

Delivering his annual State of the Nation address in the capital, Gaborone, D. Boko highlighted the progress the country has made over the past year and outlined the government's plans and priorities for the year ahead.

Tbilisi, November 10 (Xinhua) — Georgia recorded an increase in maritime transport indicators in the first nine months of 2025, with both the number of vessels calling at the country's ports and the volume of cargo handled increasing, the Ministry of Economy and Sustainable Development of Georgia reported on Monday.

According to the agency, from January to September of this year, the number of vessels calling at the port of Batumi increased by 17 percent year-on-year, while those calling at the port of Poti increased by 5 percent. Quito, November 10 (Xinhua) — Ecuador's National Prison Affairs Service (SNAI) confirmed on November 9 that 27 more inmates died from asphyxiation during a prison riot in the coastal province of El Oro in the south of the country. This brings the death toll to 31.
