Belém /Brazil/, November 10 / – The 30th Conference of the Parties to the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change /COP30/, or the COP30 climate summit for short, opened on Monday in the Brazilian city of Belém with the aim of returning the fight against climate change to the center of international priorities, local authorities said.
At the opening ceremony, COP29 President Mukhtar Babayev called for achieving the goals of the climate summit held last year in Baku, the capital of Azerbaijan.
COP30 President André Corrêa do Lago thanked Brazilian President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva for his appointment and reiterated that COP30 must deliver solutions.
