Colombo, November 29 (Xinhua) — The death toll from Cyclone Ditwa in Sri Lanka has risen to 123, with another 130 still missing, the local Disaster Management Centre announced on Saturday.

The highest number of casualties was recorded in Kandy District, where 51 people have died and 67 are missing. In Badulla, authorities confirmed 35 deaths and 27 people are missing. Islamabad, November 29 (Xinhua) — At least five people were killed and five others injured when a jeep fell into a ravine in Pakistan's northwestern Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province, the 1122 emergency service reported on Friday.

The accident occurred in Abbottabad district. The car, carrying 11 passengers, including schoolchildren, fell into a ravine in Magri area.

According to rescue services, three passengers died at the scene. Seven people were taken to a local hospital, where two later died from their injuries. Two others, in critical condition, were later transferred to Ayoub Medical Complex in Abbottabad.

Beijing, November 29 (Xinhua) — Five trucks carrying cross-border e-commerce goods, the first in Northwest China's Xinjiang Uyghur Autonomous Region (XUAR), recently departed from Urumqi. This marks the official launch of this pilot model for cross-border e-commerce goods in the XUAR.

According to the Xinjiang Daily, citing a source at the Wuchang Customs Office of the Urumqi Customs, the "inspection first, then shipment" system, compared to the traditional model, allows companies to first file a customs declaration, then load the goods onto a vehicle and ship them immediately after customs inspection. Customs inspects and verifies cargo using information technology, eliminating repetitive intermediate operations such as loading and unloading, sealing, and breaking seals.
