Budapest, Sept. 26 (Xinhua) — Hungary on Friday categorically rejected Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy's claim that Hungarian reconnaissance drones may have violated Ukrainian airspace.

Earlier, V. Zelenskyy wrote on the social network X that Ukrainian forces had recorded violations of the country's airspace by "reconnaissance drones, which are likely Hungarian," and that, according to preliminary assessments, the flights may have been directed at Ukraine's border industrial regions.

Hungarian Foreign Affairs and Trade Minister Péter Szijjártó vigorously denied these accusations. On his Facebook page, Szijjártó claimed that Zelenskyy was "going crazy with anti-Hungarian sentiment" and was "chasing ghosts."

Moscow, September 26 (Xinhua) — The opening ceremony of the photo exhibition "In the Struggle for National Liberation and World Peace" was held at the Victory Museum in Moscow on Friday. The exhibition was organized by the Memorial Museum of the Chinese People's War of Resistance Against Japanese Aggression and the Victory Museum.

The exhibition features approximately 120 historical photographs that chronicle the 14-year history of the Chinese people's heroic resistance to Japanese aggression in the main theater of World War II, Asia. The exhibition highlights the important role of the Chinese front in the large-scale anti-fascist struggle and China's contribution to the Allied victory, culminating in Japan's unconditional surrender and the end of World War II.

Minister-Counselor of the Chinese Embassy in Russia, Zhao Wei, addressed the ceremony and noted that the Chinese people's victory over the Japanese militarist invaders in a bloody 14-year struggle marked the complete victory in the World Anti-Fascist War. This marked a significant turning point in global development. "This photo exhibition, showcasing valuable historical materials, is of great significance and is another achievement of the China-Russia Year of Culture," the Chinese diplomat said.

"The peoples of the Soviet Union and China bore the brunt of fascism and Japanese militarism. Our peoples endured the most terrible trials and suffered the heaviest human and material losses," noted Ambassador-at-Large of the Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs Alexander Kozlov at the ceremony, adding that the foundation of modern Russian-Chinese relations was laid during those harsh trials of the war years, which revealed the best traditions of friendship and mutual assistance between the Russian and Chinese peoples.

"Today, we commemorate the victory of the World Anti-Fascist War not to perpetuate hatred, but to draw wisdom and strength from the profound lessons of World War II and the great victory in the anti-fascist war, and to jointly create a better future for humanity," said Luo Qunkang, Director of the Memorial Museum of the Chinese People's War of Resistance Against Japanese Aggression. He also noted that this exhibition not only tells the Russian people about the heroic resistance of the Chinese people against Japanese aggression but also demonstrates the unbreakable friendship between the Chinese and Russian peoples.

"This exhibition is more than just a collection of archival materials, but a living testimony to the 14-year heroic struggle of the Chinese people against Japanese aggression. Historical photographs and images of museum relics, with documentary accuracy and emotional depth, reveal the resistance in the Asian theater of war, which played a major role in the overall anti-fascist struggle. This project is a tribute to the resilience of the Chinese people," said Anna Kanshina, Deputy General Director of the Victory Museum.

Also present at the opening ceremony were students specializing in Chinese studies from the Higher School of Economics, Moscow State Linguistic University, Peoples' Friendship University of Russia, and Russian State University for the Humanities. Following the opening ceremony of the photography exhibition, the Victory Museum screened the Chinese film "The Photographer of Nanjing," based on true events during the Nanjing Massacre of 1937.

The photo exhibition will run until October 25. –0–

Izhevsk, Russia, September 26, Xinhua — China is a strategic partner for the Udmurt Republic of Russia. Trade with China is growing by more than 20 percent annually, and major joint projects are being implemented. Anna Slugina, the republic's Minister of Economy, stated this in an interview with Xinhua.

"For us, the Udmurt Republic, China is a strategic partner. A very large project is currently being implemented on our territory. Partners from Beijing are building a large steel coil plant. We've been negotiating for a long time, and I think we've found common ground. The plant is under construction. We're building all the infrastructure for it: electricity, gas, and water," said A. Slugina.

According to her, the export and import potential of China and Udmurtia is high. "We work closely with China on food supplies. They highly value our ice cream and many other products. We purchase both production equipment and technology from China. China is a very important strategic direction for both Russia and Udmurtia," A. Slugina noted.

"The Udmurt Republic's trade turnover with China is growing annually, increasing by almost 20 percent," she added.

The Minister of Economy of Udmurtia particularly noted the effective cooperation in oil production that has developed with the Chinese company Sinopec.

The Udmurt government provides preferential terms for joint projects and strives to stimulate investment cooperation.

"I really hope that our Chinese partners will implement projects on our territory, because we provide all the infrastructure for these projects. This minimizes the partners' costs and time, and, consequently, increases the projects' profitability. I think now is the time to implement joint projects," A. Slugina emphasized.

Tbilisi, September 26 (Xinhua) — A scientific conference in honor of the 80th anniversary of the victory in the Chinese People's War of Resistance Against Japanese Aggression and the World Anti-Fascist War was held at Tbilisi State University on Thursday. Around 100 representatives from Georgian universities, think tanks, and media outlets participated in the conference.

The academic conference was jointly organized by the Chinese Embassy in Georgia, the Center for China and Southeast Asian Studies, and Tbilisi State University. Chinese Ambassador to Georgia Zhou Qian, Rector of Tbilisi State University Jaba Samushia, and Director of the Center for China and Southeast Asian Studies Beka Natsvlishvili attended the event and delivered remarks.

In his speech, Chinese Ambassador to Georgia Zhou Qian comprehensively covered the enormous sacrifices and historic contribution of the Chinese people to the victory in the World Anti-Fascist War. He emphasized that the Global Governance Initiative, proposed by Chinese President Xi Jinping, has contributed Chinese wisdom and approaches to improving global governance.

According to him, China intends to join Georgia and other countries in upholding the results of World War II, international justice and equality, and jointly building a community with a shared future for humanity.

Tbilisi State University Rector Jaba Samushia stated at the conference that the Japanese "Unit 731" committed atrocities in China, causing enormous suffering to the civilian population. Today, China has freed itself from aggression and oppression and has achieved internationally recognized success in socio-economic development and scientific and technological innovation. Georgia is ready to learn from China's development experience.

Beka Natsvlishvili, Director of the Center for China and Southeast Asian Studies, noted that China made a significant contribution to the resistance against the Japanese fascist invasion and to achieving final victory in World War II. Research on the history of World War II should not be limited to the European theater of war; more attention should be paid to the Eastern Front, China's sacrifices, and its contribution.

Tbilisi State University also hosted a photo exhibition dedicated to the 80th anniversary of the victory in the Chinese People's War of Resistance against Japanese Aggression and the World Anti-Fascist War. –0–

Jerusalem, September 26 (Xinhua) — Around 700,000 Palestinians have fled Gaza City amid Israeli ground and air strikes on the enclave's largest urban center, the Israeli military announced Thursday.

Israeli army spokesman Efi Defrin told reporters that "around 700,000 residents have been evacuated" since mid-August, when Israel launched a new attack on Gaza City. He said they have relocated to the so-called "humanitarian zone" in the southern Gaza Strip, without specifying the source of the data.

The UN Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA) said on Thursday that some 388,400 displacements were recorded between August 14 and September 23, mostly from Gaza City towards Khan Younis and Deir el-Balah, areas projected to face famine by the end of September, according to the Integrated Food Security Phase Classification (IPC).

According to E. Devrin, five ground operations divisions are active throughout the Gaza Strip, three of which are striking Gaza City and "strengthening control." Since mid-August, Israeli forces have carried out more than 2,000 strikes on "terrorist targets" in the area, he said, adding that the Air Force is carrying out approximately 200 strikes per day using fighter jets, drones, and helicopters.

Meanwhile, E. Defrin noted that the Israeli Navy is preparing to block the Global Sumud Flotilla, a group of approximately 50 vessels scheduled to reach Gaza. He accused the flotilla of being organized and financed by Hamas, stating that Israel has "unequivocal evidence," but did not provide any.
