BEIJING, Jan. 23 (Xinhua) — The China Coast Guard (CCG) has rescued 13 crew members from a Philippine vessel that capsized in the South China Sea, the CCG said Friday.

At 1:23 a.m. on Friday, the BOC received a report that a foreign cargo ship with 21 crew members on board had capsized 55 nautical miles northwest of China's Huangyan Island.

BEIJING, Jan. 23 (Xinhua) — The number of valid invention patents issued in mainland China reached 5.32 million by the end of last year, the State Intellectual Property Administration said Friday.

Last year, a total of 972,000 patents were issued in the continental part of the country. The average patent review time fell to 15 months.

By 2025, the number of patents for valuable inventions per 10,000 people reached 16, the department noted.

Over the past year, more than 4.2 million trademarks were registered in mainland China. This brings the total number of active registered trademarks to over 49.87 million by the end of 2025.

BEIJING, January 23 (Xinhua) — On Wednesday, the third New Year's Goods Festival opened in Xi'an, Shaanxi Province, following the arrival of a freight train loaded with grain, oil, honey, and other Kazakh agricultural products from Kazakhstan on the international China-Europe freight route in Xi'an, Northwest China.
