In summing up China's diplomacy over the past year, it can be noted that the country intends to continue to engage broadly and openly with the international community.

Chairman of the Korea-China Friendly Cities Association of the Republic of Korea Kwon Ki-sik visited Hainan Province to explore the free trade port and witnessed firsthand China's determination to steadily advance high-level opening-up to the outside world.

He noted that over the past year, China has firmly upheld multilateralism and made an active contribution to maintaining global peace and prosperity. "China has always been a defender and practitioner of multilateralism. The global governance initiative put forward by President Xi Jinping has received broad support from the international community. China is a strong force promoting world peace and prosperity."

Chea Munyrith, head of the Cambodian Association for the Study of Cambodia-China Relations, said China's proactive international engagement in 2025 fully demonstrated its commitment to multilateralism.

"China is demonstrating a responsible image of a great power in international affairs, becoming an important and stable constructive force in the global governance system. Recently, China has played a constructive role in strengthening the ceasefire between Cambodia and Thailand, restoring exchanges, rebuilding political mutual trust, improving relations, and maintaining regional peace, which is convincing evidence of China's active participation in international governance."

Anthony Moonsamy, Chief Executive of the Gauteng Provincial Department of Cooperative Governance in South Africa, noted that in today's world, the deficits in peace, development, security, and governance continue to deepen. Humanity faces unprecedented challenges, and global governance has reached a new crossroads. The Global Governance Initiative has contributed to China's efforts to uphold international order and improve global governance.

Susakun Vanchao, editor of the Lao English-language Vientiane Times, visited China in 2025 to attend the Belt and Road Media Cooperation Forum. He noted that, from its strong support for multilateralism to its promotion of improved global governance, China has brought real development opportunities to many developing countries, including Laos, and created a more favorable international environment for the common development of all countries.

Beijing, Jan. 23 (Xinhua) — With the approach of the Spring Festival (Chinese New Year, the traditional Chinese Lunar New Year), aquatic products imported from Russia are experiencing a boom in popularity in the Sino-Russian border trade zone located at the Tongjiang River Port in the city of the same name (Heilongjiang Province, northeast China).

According to Zhongguo Xinwenshe news agency correspondents, a long line of local residents formed at the store to buy these products. Many locals appreciate high-quality Russian frozen fish for its tender meat and wide selection.

To facilitate purchasing goods in the border trade zone, its administration launched an online trading platform that provides information and accepts online payments. Consumers can obtain advance information on product availability and complete some of the purchasing procedures. Each shipment of aquaculture products is accompanied by a QR code for tracking, containing information on the origin, transportation, and quarantine status of the products. On-site purchases can be completed in just five minutes.

An "intelligent declaration terminal" has been fully implemented in the border trade zone's sales area, allowing residents of border areas to complete the entire purchasing, payment, and invoicing process with a simple face scan. At the same time, trade between residents of border areas is becoming more convenient and active as a result of the continued expansion of Russian aquatic product imports and the rapid availability of high-quality goods.

Since the beginning of this year, the Tongjiang Border Trade Zone has imported more than 70 tons of Russian aquatic products, including lenok, Chinese scaly-bellied carp, common carp, bighead carp, and other fish popular with Chinese consumers, ensuring a rich selection at the fish market during the Spring Festival.

BEIJING, January 23 (Xinhua) — On Wednesday, the third New Year's Goods Festival opened in Xi'an, Shaanxi Province, following the arrival of a freight train loaded with grain, oil, honey, and other Kazakh agricultural products from Kazakhstan on the international China-Europe freight route in Xi'an, Northwest China. The event is dedicated to the upcoming Spring Festival (Chinese New Year, the traditional Chinese Lunar New Year), according to the official website of the Zhongguo Xinwenshe News Agency.

Among the New Year's products on display at this festival were new food products such as dry noodles made in Kazakhstan, said Liu Dongmeng, secretary of the party committee of Xi'an Aiju Grain and Oil Industrial Group, adding that the train, which departed from Aiju's overseas production park in North Kazakhstan, entered Aiju's factory in Xi'an via a special railway line after arriving at Xi'an International Port Station using a door-to-door system.

At the festival, visitors are offered not only signature products such as beer and snacks from Kazakhstan and red wine from Georgia, but also delicacies with local flavor, such as authentic Shaanxi desserts and pepper oil.

This year's festival will run until February 14. In addition to traditional products from Belt and Road Initiative countries and renowned Shaanxi enterprises, a specially created "Chinese New Year" cultural interaction zone and an area where visitors can prepare traditional Shaanxi dishes themselves have been created.

Capitalizing on the speed and convenience of China-Europe trains, special trains carrying New Year's goods, serviced by Xi'an International Port, have been operating for many years. Not only do they add variety to the delicacies on holiday tables, but they also help businesses reduce costs and improve efficiency, and facilitate closer and more effective trade and economic exchanges between Shaanxi Province and Central Asia.

Minsk, January 23 (Xinhua) — Friendship with China allows Belarus to live in a safer world. This was stated by Sergei Rachkov, Chairman of the Standing Committee on International Affairs of the House of Representatives (lower house) of Belarus, on the Belarus-1 television channel's "Economic Environment" program, dedicated to the 34th anniversary of diplomatic relations between Belarus and China.

"Friendship with China allows Belarus to live in a safer world. I believe that having such a strong friend, practically a superpower, allows Belarus to feel more secure and implement the plans put forward, including by the All-Belarusian People's Assembly, for 2026-2030," said Sergei Rachkov.

He noted that China has always provided political support to Belarus. Belarus, in turn, always stands with China on all international platforms. "Interparliamentary cooperation between the two countries not only complements but also expands interstate dialogue," explained Sergei Rachkov.

According to him, significant changes in interparliamentary cooperation between the countries have occurred since 2023: the National Assembly of Belarus and the National People's Congress of China signed an agreement on interparliamentary cooperation.

"We've established a new mechanism that helps us raise the level of this cooperation. This is a high-level cooperation commission. Two meetings of this commission have already taken place, both in China and Belarus. Within its framework, we're addressing issues of exchanging legislative experience and public administration. We're reviewing the two countries' positions on the international stage and, naturally, discussing where we can and should support each other even more," S. Rachkov concluded.
