Tehran, February 9 (Xinhua) — The head of Iran's Atomic Energy Organization, Mohammad Eslami, said on Monday that Tehran may consider reducing its uranium enrichment level from 60 percent, but only if all international sanctions are fully lifted. This was reported by Iran's official news agency IRNA.

M. Eslami made the statement while speaking to reporters and answering a question about whether the United States demanded that Iran reduce its uranium enrichment levels during indirect talks between the two sides held in Oman on February 6.

“This issue /about Iran reducing its uranium enrichment level/ depends on whether they lift all sanctions in response or not,” M. Eslami pointed out.

Delegations from Iran and the United States, led by Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi and US Special Presidential Envoy Steven Witkoff, respectively, held indirect talks on Iran's nuclear program in the Omani capital Muscat on February 6 amid heightened tensions between Tehran and Washington. –0–

TEHRAN, Feb. 9 (Xinhua) — Iran's Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei on Monday called on the Iranian people to show unity and "disappoint the enemy" amid growing tensions with the United States ahead of the 47th anniversary of the Islamic Revolution.

In his televised address, the Supreme Leader emphasized that national power relies more on "determination and resistance" than on military hardware like missiles and aircraft. On February 11, rallies will be held across Iran to celebrate the revolution's victory.

“Until the enemy is disappointed, the country will be oppressed,” A. Khamenei emphasized, adding that “the enemy must be disappointed.”

The Supreme Leader called the annual marches a show of dignity that forces foreign powers to "back off" from their intentions to interfere in Iran's internal affairs.

Tensions between Iran and the United States have escalated due to the buildup of American military presence in the Middle East and ongoing threats against Tehran. Despite the indirect Iranian-American nuclear talks held in Muscat, Oman, on February 6, significant differences remain, making the prospects for reaching an agreement uncertain.

A. Khamenei expressed hope that this year's celebratory events will force "other countries, governments and powers to show modesty and respect" towards the Iranian people. –0–
