BEIJING, Oct. 10 (Xinhua) — China on Friday called on some foreign politicians visiting Taiwan to immediately stop interfering in China's internal affairs and promoting "Taiwan independence."
Commenting on Taiwan's Prime Minister Lai Qingde's separatist statements about "Taiwan independence," Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesman Guo Jiakun noted that China consistently and resolutely opposes any form of official interaction between Taiwan and countries that have established diplomatic relations with China.
Regardless of whether their misguided words and actions are motivated by selfish interests or a sinister plot to “use Taiwan to contain China,” these politicians are miscalculating and are undoubtedly doomed to failure, as China’s complete reunification is an unstoppable historical trend, Guo Jiakun said. -0-
