Almaty, March 3 (Xinhua) — In January-February 2026, the crime rate in Kazakhstan decreased by 8 percent year-on-year, with 1,300 fewer crimes committed than in the same period in 2025. This was announced on Tuesday by Kazakh Interior Minister Yerzhan Sadenov.
He emphasized that, thanks to prevention and cooperation with foreign law enforcement agencies, the number of cybercrimes has decreased by 4 percent.
In the area of combating organized crime, 71 members of organized crime groups were brought to criminal responsibility and the activities of 11 such groups were suppressed.
According to the minister, five drug labs were also shut down, and 881.5 kg of various types of narcotics were seized. –0–
