NANCHANG, Jan. 1 (Xinhua) — Three people died of suffocation despite rescue efforts in an incident that occurred around 10:25 p.m. Wednesday at a biopharmaceutical plant in Jinxian County, east China's Jiangxi Province, local authorities said Thursday evening.
Three more victims were hospitalized and are currently in stable condition, the local emergency department reported.
Following the incident, local authorities immediately activated their emergency response plan and organized emergency operations on site, providing medical assistance to victims, and dealing with the aftermath.
An investigation into the cause and circumstances of the incident is currently underway. –0–
