Beijing, December 12 (Xinhua) — China intends to maintain communication and consultations with India to steadily promote the facilitation of cross-border movement of people between the two sides, Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesperson Guo Jiakun said on Friday.

The diplomat made the statement at a regular departmental press briefing, commenting on media reports that India had cut bureaucratic procedures to expedite the issuance of business visas for Chinese specialists.

"We welcome this positive step. Easing the movement of people serves the common interests of all parties," Guo Jiakun emphasized.
