Moscow, October 10 (Xinhua) — Russia's foreign trade surplus in January-August 2025 decreased by 14.1 percent year-on-year to $86.3 billion (versus $100.5 billion a year earlier), according to data from the Federal Customs Service (FCS) published on Friday.
According to the agency's estimates, Russian exports of goods from January to August 2025 decreased by 5.2 percent year-on-year to $264.2 billion. Imports decreased by 0.1 percent to $177.9 billion.
Thus, Russia's trade turnover for January-August 2025, compared to the same period last year, decreased by 3.24 percent and amounted to $442.1 billion.
In addition, exports of goods from Russia to Europe over the same period amounted to 38.1 billion, a decrease of 14.3 percent, to Asia – 203.6 billion, a decrease of 2.7 percent, to Africa – 13.9 billion, a decrease of 14.9 percent, and to America – 8.5 billion.
Imports to the Russian Federation from Europe in January-August 2025 amounted to 46.0 billion, a decrease of 4.2 percent, from Asia – 118.5 billion, an increase of 0.2 percent, from Africa – 3.0 billion, an increase of 33.3 percent, from America – 10.4 billion (an increase of 11.6 percent). –0–
