JOHANNESBURG, Aug. 8 (Xinhua) — South African President Cyril Ramaphosa on Thursday held a telephone conversation with Russian President Vladimir Putin, during which the two sides discussed the advancement of the peace process between Russia and Ukraine.
"Russian President Vladimir Putin has praised South Africa's participation in advancing the peace process between Russia and Ukraine," said a statement released by the South African president's office.
S. Ramaphosa expressed “South Africa’s full support for peace initiatives that will end the war and ensure long-term peace between Russia and Ukraine.”
