JERUSALEM, Aug. 8 (Xinhua) — Israel's security cabinet has approved a plan to take control of Gaza City, Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu's office said on Friday.
Israel intends to take control of all of Gaza to ensure its security and rid the city of Hamas, B. Netanyahu said in an interview with Fox News on Thursday before a meeting of the security cabinet.
"We don't want to keep it [Gaza – Xinhua] for ourselves. We want to have a security perimeter. We want to hand it over to Arab forces that will manage it properly, without threatening us and providing a good life for the locals," he said.
