A collective bargaining conference was held at KAMAZ

Translation. Region: Russian Federation –

Today, March 24, a labor conference was held at KAMAZ to discuss the fulfillment of the Collective Agreement obligations for 2025.

The event was attended by KAMAZ CEO Sergey Kogogin, the company's Deputy CEO for Human Resources, Organizational Development, and Corporate Governance Zhanna Khaliullina, the chairman of the auto giant's trade union committee Ildar Shamilov, and representatives of the company's plants and divisions.

Zhanna Khaliullina, Deputy General Director for Human Resources, Organizational Development, and Corporate Governance, presented a report on the performance of KAMAZ PJSC's collective agreement obligations in 2025. She noted that the company increased vehicle sales last year, representing an 8.6% increase compared to 2024. KAMAZ PJSC's share of the Russian market for heavy-duty trucks with a gross vehicle weight over 14 tonnes reached 33% by the end of 2025, compared to 18% the previous year. KAMAZ's market share increased thanks to both the classic K3 generation in the commercial segment and the latest K5 generation. Extensive work is underway to provide Russian regions with passenger transport. The company continues to participate in federal projects to upgrade the vehicle fleets of Russian cities. New bus models and an A5 generation electric bus have been launched. Furthermore, KAMAZ continues to supply vehicles to the Russian military.

"During the reporting year, we didn't just meet our targets; we revisited our approaches, introduced new tools, and, most importantly, strived to ensure that every KAMAZ employee felt cared for by the company," emphasized Zhanna Khaliullina. "The first thing we focused on during the reporting period was transforming the social benefits system. We abandoned the principle of 'thin-grain' distribution and transitioned to targeted support for key target groups: young people, families, families with children, and employees in difficult life situations. Funding was maintained at a level that covered all key staff needs. Funds were allocated for spa treatment, meal compensation, maternity support, and financial assistance in difficult life situations."

Furthermore, systematic support for mobilized workers and their families continues. Over the past year, 75 families have received financial assistance totaling over 11 million rubles. More than 4,400 "Lenta" gift certificates worth five thousand rubles have also been issued to the families of mobilized workers, totaling over 20 million rubles. Fifteen families of mobilized workers have received spa treatment at the Naberezhnye Chelny Sanatorium and KAMAZzhilbyt.

In turn, Ilnar Mukhametshin, Deputy Chairman of the KAMAZ PJSC Trade Union, reported on the activities of the auto giant's trade union committee in 2025. He noted that in today's environment, the trade union plays a significant and crucial role both in protecting workers' rights and as a social partner. Currently, the United Primary Trade Union Organization of KAMAZ PJSC comprises 58 primary trade union organizations, with two new ones established last year. By the end of 2025, the membership coverage for the main group of KAMAZ organizations located in Naberezhnye Chelny was over 93%.

The reports from the administration and trade union committee on the fulfillment of obligations under the KAMAZ PJSC Collective Agreement for 2025 indicate that all obligations have been fulfilled during the reporting period. Compensatory and incentive payments established by the Collective Agreement and KAMAZ PJSC regulatory documents have been made in full.

Summing up the conference, KAMAZ CEO Sergey Kogogin noted that the company continues to operate in volatile market conditions and that the announced results were achieved despite the current challenging situation. The Russian commercial vehicle market has shrunk by more than half, and current demand doesn't provide comfortable conditions for the stable operation of the company and related industry enterprises. "Under these conditions, maintaining our scientific, technical, and production potential remains a constant challenge. In 2026, we must consider and focus on key areas. Smooth assembly line operation is essential; it allows us to synchronize suppliers, logistics, and personnel, avoiding rush jobs and downtime. Quality is especially crucial—it's our anti-crisis tool today: in a market that is shrinking and competition is increasing, quality is becoming the primary argument for customer retention. It's also crucial to ensure import substitution without sacrificing quality: by replacing obsolete components, we must maintain or even improve the reliability of our product," emphasized Sergey Kogogin.

The company's CEO also noted that, in addition to equipment deliveries, the team participated in the dispatch of humanitarian aid throughout the year, supported mobilized colleagues, and assisted new regions of the country. "Ensuring the uninterrupted production of vehicles to protect the country's borders and national interests remains a crucial mission. This is our duty today, and we are successfully fulfilling this crucial task. Thank you to the entire team for your work in 2025, for your patriotism and responsiveness!" said the KAMAZ CEO.

BEIJING, March 24 (Xinhua) — China welcomes American companies to continue expanding their presence in the Chinese market and to develop and prosper together with China, Chinese Commerce Minister Wang Wentao said.

Wang Wentao made this statement on Monday during a meeting with a delegation of U.S.-China Business Council member companies, led by Chairman Raj Subramaniam and President Sean Stein. The two sides exchanged views on U.S.-China trade and economic relations, the development of American businesses in China, and other topics.

Although some differences and frictions are inevitable in the course of trade and economic cooperation between China and the US, it is crucial to respect each other's core interests and major concerns and properly resolve differences through equal dialogue, Wang Wentao noted.

He added that China hopes that the American side will move together with China to meet each other halfway to maintain stable, healthy and sustainable development of bilateral trade and economic relations.

China's economic development provides stability and certainty in a turbulent global environment, Wang Wentao said, stressing that the country will promote high-quality development, steadily advance high-level opening-up to the outside world, and continue to optimize its business environment.

The key provisions of China's 15th Five-Year Plan (2026-2030) not only serve as a new blueprint for China's development, but also open up new opportunities for global progress, he added.

During the meeting, American delegates emphasized the importance of continuing practical dialogue between China and the United States and expressed hope for the further development of bilateral trade and economic ties.

Tashkent, March 24 (Xinhua) — The World Bank (WB) has approved a $200 million project to develop the transport sector in Uzbekistan's Surkhandarya region, the organization announced on Monday.

The project is scheduled to last five years. A key component will be the reconstruction of a 91-kilometer section of the M41 highway, connecting Uzbekistan with neighboring countries. The road is planned to be widened from two to four lanes. The road surface will also be modernized, and safety and accessibility of the infrastructure will be improved.

Once completed, the road is expected to be used by approximately 35,000 drivers and passengers daily. In addition, the allocated funds will be used for the modernization, construction, and repair of 180 bridges. Plans also include upgrading the drainage system.

Tbilisi, March 24 (Xinhua) — Georgia offers the international community a stable and predictable environment for investment and business development, a key indicator of which is the stability of the financial sector and the strength of the national currency. Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze stated this on Tuesday, speaking at an international capital markets conference in Tbilisi.

According to him, according to forecasts from the International Monetary Fund, over the next five years, Georgia could demonstrate the highest average economic growth rate in the region and among European countries – about 5.1 percent per year.

I. Kobakhidze also noted that, according to the World Bank, Georgia's business environment is among the four best in the world by 2025.

As the Prime Minister emphasized, the country ranks highly in a number of key business indicators, including second place in the world for dispute resolution efficiency.

"Just ten years ago, a significant portion of the population's bank deposits were denominated in foreign currency, but this figure has now declined significantly thanks to consistent economic policy and growing public confidence," said I. Kobakhidze.

He also noted that the high level of investor confidence was confirmed at the beginning of this year during the placement of Eurobonds, when demand for Georgian securities exceeded supply by 5.5 times, despite the ongoing volatility in global markets. –0–

How a Russian Volunteer Is Helping Tell the Story of the Nanjing Massacre

Beijing, March 24 (Xinhua) — An event dedicated to the "Blooming Flowers of Peace" volunteer program was recently held at the Nanjing Massacre Memorial. During the event, 12 foreign volunteers were awarded the title of "Outstanding International Volunteer," including Russian student Elizaveta Gamanyuk.

E. Gamanyuk is a student in the Department of Chinese Language and Literature at the Institute of International Cultural Education at Nanjing Normal University. She first learned about the Nanjing Massacre from her professor, who spoke extensively to students about the city's history, the university's past, and Chinese philosophy. It was then that she learned that the Nanjing Women's College, which provided shelter for over 10,000 women and children, was located on her campus at the time of the tragedy, and also learned about the story of American missionary Minnie Vautrin.

"I'm often asked why I decided to provide assistance to this particular complex." She is convinced that this story has long ceased to be merely a national tragedy. It is a pain that all of humanity should remember, she shared.

At the end of 2025, E. Gamanyuk visited the memorial as part of a university group and subsequently decided to become a volunteer. She participates in ceremonies commemorating the victims of the Nanjing Massacre, reads books about the events aloud in Chinese and English, and plants flowers symbolizing peace. She shares her impressions on Instagram, drawing attention to this chapter in history. In her day-to-day work, she assists visitors with navigation, maintains order, and provides support to visitors to the memorial.

"Every time I put on a volunteer vest and find myself in this place that preserves the memory of suffering, I feel a sense of responsibility," said E. Gamanyuk. She is particularly touched by the elderly who stand for long periods of time, tears in their eyes, in front of photographs of survivors, the students who hang on the guide's every word, and the guests from various countries who observe a moment of silence. Preserving historical truth and striving for peace transcend national boundaries. Each volunteer contributes to the common cause, she shared.

The Russian student cites the right to independently conduct tours of the memorial as her main goal. "To tell others, you need to know the whole story thoroughly. I understand that this goal is still a long way off, but I will work hard." She says any inaccuracy is disrespectful to the memory.

A volunteer unit was established at the memorial in 1994. Today, it has over 28,000 registered volunteers. An international volunteer program was launched in 2018. As of March 2026, 779 foreigners from 57 countries, including the United States, Japan, the Republic of Korea, the United Kingdom, Russia, Malaysia, Indonesia, Thailand, and East Timor, have participated in the project. Among them are seven Russian citizens.

Nanjing, March 24 (Xinhua) — Wuxi, a city in east China's Jiangsu Province designated by UNESCO as the "World Music Capital," welcomed its musical partner from afar on Monday: the Moscow State Tchaikovsky Conservatory. With music as their starting point, both sides are poised to open a new chapter in the deepening cultural exchange between China and Russia.

On the same day, the Wuxi Symphony Hall, home to the Wuxi Symphony Orchestra, and the Moscow State Tchaikovsky Conservatory signed a framework agreement on strategic cooperation.

According to the signed document, the multifaceted and systematic cooperation, which is planned for the next three years, covers several areas: concerts and music shows, artistic education, academic exchange, the training of highly qualified musicians, etc.

"After the founding of the People's Republic of China in 1949, Chinese students immediately began attending the Moscow Conservatory and receiving their diplomas," Alexander Sokolov, rector of the P.I. Tchaikovsky Moscow State Conservatory, told Xinhua.

According to him, there are currently about 350 students from China studying at the Moscow Conservatory.

The Conservatory has also entered into cooperation agreements with a number of Chinese conservatories, including two Beijing conservatories, as well as several conservatories in different regions of China.

As an important project within the framework of the China-Russia Years of Culture and at the invitation of the Russian Ministry of Culture and the Russian National Orchestra, the Wuxi Symphony Orchestra performed joint concerts with the Russian National Orchestra in Novosibirsk, Moscow, and St. Petersburg from late September to early October 2025.

“Working alongside outstanding Russian artists provides a rare learning opportunity for the young Chinese Symphony Orchestra, giving us full confidence that we can realize the orchestra’s creative aspirations for internationalization,” noted Artistic Director and Principal Conductor Lin Daye.

Taking advantage of the 30th anniversary of the establishment of the Sino-Russian strategic partnership, the 25th anniversary of the signing of the Treaty of Good-Neighborliness, Friendship and Cooperation between China and Russia, and the 160th anniversary of the founding of the Moscow State Tchaikovsky Conservatory as tremendous opportunities, and using music as a unique medium, China and Russia are jointly performing a “cultural symphony.”

As a reminder, last week the Shanghai Philharmonic Orchestra and the Moscow State Tchaikovsky Conservatory of Music announced a strategic partnership. Furthermore, the Chongqing Tchaikovsky Conservatory of Music, affiliated with Chongqing Normal University, officially opened in Chongqing, southwest China. -0-
