Moscow, September 21 (Xinhua) — The Intervision International Music Competition concluded in Moscow on Saturday. Participants from more than 20 countries, including China, Russia, Qatar, India, Cuba, Belarus, Uzbekistan, Madagascar, and others, performed in the final.

"I am confident that the competition will become one of the most recognizable and beloved throughout the world, because through dialogue and mutual respect, and through strengthening trust between cultures, we become spiritually richer," Russian President Vladimir Putin said in his video address on the occasion of the competition.

He also added that the competition aims to demonstrate the unifying power of art.

Arkhangelsk, September 20 (Xinhua) — The prospects for expanding cooperation with China are very good, said Alexander Tsybulsky, governor of Russia's Arkhangelsk region, at a meeting Friday with foreign journalists who came to Pomorye as part of a press tour organized with the support of the Russian Foreign Ministry.

"China has traditionally been our reliable partner. We have established good ties, and our trade turnover is quite large. LONDON/BRUSSEL, Sept. 20 (Xinhua) — A cyberattack on a check-in and boarding system provider has disrupted operations at several major airports in Europe, leading to flight delays and cancellations.

Heathrow, London's main and largest international airport, said on Saturday morning that a "technical issue" had affected its check-in and boarding service provider.

"A third-party supplier that provides check-in and boarding systems for several airlines at various airports is experiencing technical issues that could result in delays for passengers," a Heathrow Airport spokesperson said, according to local media.

Airports in Brussels and Berlin were also hit by the cyberattack.

GUANGZHOU, Sept. 20 (Xinhua) — Authorities in Jiangmen City, south China's Guangdong Province, reported 1,714 cases of chikungunya fever, a mosquito-borne viral disease, as of Sept. 19, triggering a public health emergency response.

At a press conference on Saturday, officials said all cases reported so far were mild, with no severe or fatal outcomes.

On September 19, the city government decided to implement a Level 3 public health emergency response in response to the ongoing chikungunya fever situation in Jiangmen.

JERUSALEM, Sept. 20 (Xinhua) — The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) said in a statement on Saturday that its air force struck about 100 targets in the Gaza Strip over the past 24 hours.

URUMQI, Sept. 20 (Xinhua) — Construction of a new expressway through the Tianshan Mountains began Saturday in northwest China's Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region. The highway is designed to reduce travel time between the region's north and south and strengthen tourism and trade ties.

The 393.7-kilometer Duqu Expressway will connect Dushanzi County in northern Xinjiang with Kuqa County in the south. Designed to achieve speeds of 100-120 km/h, the highway is scheduled for completion in 2032, reducing travel time to approximately five hours.

Arkhangelsk, Russia, September 20, Xinhua — The development of the Northern Sea Route (NSR) is one of Russia's strategic priorities. It is a highly promising logistics route that could significantly impact global logistics.
