On September 16, a strategic cooperation agreement was signed between NSU and BurService. The document solidifies the partnership in the development and support of digital technologies for the oil and gas industry and is a natural extension of the previously concluded agreement on the joint development and commercialization of a next-generation software package for interpreting seismic and geological-geophysical data used in constructing digital field models. The signing took place at the TNF-2025 Industrial and Energy Forum.

Arkaim is a joint development project combining NSU's scientific base and BurService's practical expertise. The software incorporates the intellectual property of both parties, making the product unique in its depth of development and innovativeness.

The parties entered into an agency agreement under which NSU modules and developments not included in the Arkaim project will be exclusively distributed by BurServis. The agreement is valid throughout the Russian Federation and beyond. This format of cooperation reflects a genuine collaboration between business and science and will allow for the most effective use of BurServis's experience in promoting and implementing new solutions for oil and gas companies in the region.

"Creating a science-intensive technological product requires at least two competencies: scientific—to solve the problems underlying the product—and applied—to properly plan its development and market promotion. We intend to achieve synergy between these two areas by signing an agreement with BurService, under which our partner will assume the functions of promoting and providing technical support for the software platform we are developing for interpreting seismic data and building digital models of oil and gas fields," commented Sergey Golovin, Director of the NSU Advanced Engineering School.

Commercial delivery of the product is scheduled for January 2026.

Nanning, September 22 (Xinhua) — The 22nd China-ASEAN Expo and the China-ASEAN Business and Investment Summit concluded on Sunday in Nanning, Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region, south China. Agreements on more than 500 trade and economic projects were signed during the events.

Wei Zhaohui, Secretary-General of the China-ASEAN Expo Secretariat, said at a press conference on Sunday that agreements on 155 investment projects were signed during this year's event, including 74 projects in the manufacturing industry, accounting for 88 percent of the total investment.

According to Wei Zhaohui, the specified projects in the manufacturing industry cover such sectors as mechanical engineering and equipment, petrochemical and chemical industries, non-ferrous metals, new materials, light industry and textiles, as well as information technology.

The five-day EXPO covered 160,000 square meters of exhibition space and attracted 3,260 enterprises from 60 countries. Of these, 627 were from ASEAN countries.

For the first time at EXPO, a pavilion dedicated to artificial intelligence (AI) was created, which presented approximately 1,200 exhibits, including approximately 20 large language models and 60 intelligent robots.

Damascus, September 22 (Xinhua) — Syria's People's Assembly (parliament) elections have been set for October 5, the country's Supreme Committee for Parliamentary Elections announced on Sunday. These will be the first parliamentary elections since the overthrow of Bashar al-Assad's government last year.

It is noted that the decision was made in accordance with the constitutional declaration and decrees issued earlier this year by interim leader Ahmed al-Sharaa, who created the Supreme Electoral Committee in June. Elections will be held under a temporary indirect electoral system designed to form a new legislative body within 60-90 days.

JERUSALEM, Sept. 22 (Xinhua) — Israeli cabinet ministers on Sunday called for the annexation of the occupied West Bank in response to Britain, Canada and Australia recognizing a Palestinian state.

National Security Minister Itamar Ben-Gvir, a far-right member of Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu's coalition, called for "immediate countermeasures." In a post on the social media platform X, he called for "the immediate application of sovereignty in Judea and Samaria," using the Israeli term for the West Bank, and declared that Israel must "crush" the internationally recognized Palestinian Authority.

According to I. Ben-Gvir, at the next cabinet meeting he will present a proposal for the annexation of the West Bank.

In 2025, approximately 10 billion rubles will be allocated for the major repairs of the Rostov-on-Don–Mariupol–Melitopol–Simferopol section of the federal highway R-280 "Novorossiya," which runs through the Donetsk People's Republic and Zaporizhia Oblast. A corresponding order has been signed.

Using funding from the government's reserve fund, the highway in this section will be repaired and widened from two to four lanes. Rosavtodor will be responsible for this work. This decision will bring the road up to standard and increase its capacity.

Tbilisi, September 21 (Xinhua) — Georgian agricultural exports from January to August 2025 exceeded $1.118 billion, up 3.4 percent from the same period last year, the Georgian Ministry of Environmental Protection and Agriculture reported on Sunday.

The main export items were alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages, stone fruits, processed stone fruits and blueberries.
