The fleet of KAMAZ gas-powered long-haul trucks in the Gazprom Helium Service fleet has increased 15-fold in five years.

Five years ago, Gazprom Helium Service, a partner of KAMAZ PJSC, began building a long-haul fleet of liquefied natural gas (LNG)-powered trucks. Today, the company's fleet has increased 15-fold and now includes 273 modern KAMAZ LNG-powered trucks.

The first batch of 18 domestically produced KAMAZ-5490 NEO monofuel trucks arrived at the helium container logistics center in Primorsky Krai on March 31, 2021. Gazprom Helium Service currently operates 273 modern KAMAZ LNG trucks. The flagship of the fleet are the new-generation K5 KAMAZ-54901 LNG trucks, developed by the leading Russian truck manufacturer for Gazprom. KAMAZ's partner has placed particular emphasis on developing its own infrastructure to support the full cycle of long-haul LNG transportation. Four refueling centers have been established in the Far East, and environmentally friendly fuel is produced at its own natural gas liquefaction complexes. This ensures the reliability of logistics routes.

Specialized domestic road trains offer a comprehensive transport solution for transporting liquefied gases. These road trains include KAMAZ LNG trucks, semi-trailers, and tank containers for transporting liquefied petroleum gas (LPG), LNG, liquid helium, and liquid ethylene.

The KAMAZ-54901 LNG-powered truck is a gas-powered version of the first model in the high-tech K5 line of trucks. This version of the truck is equipped with a KAMAZ R6 (Euro-5) gas engine producing 460 hp, an automated transmission, and two cryogenic tanks holding 1,060 liters of liquefied natural gas. Using LNG significantly reduces fuel costs for the owner, with a range of up to 1,600 km on a single tank, making this model one of the most efficient for businesses. KAMAZ specialists shared their experience of using one of the Lean Manufacturing tools

In 2026, Tutaev Engine Plant, a KAMAZ subsidiary in the Yaroslavl region, will implement one of the Lean Manufacturing tools, "Quality Gates," into its Production System. KAMAZ PJSC specialists will conduct online training for managers at all levels on the elements and implementation mechanisms of this tool.

"Quality Gate" divides the process into pre-defined stages and checks the product's progress through each one. This tool helps monitor product quality at every stage of production. This enables timely response to quality issues and prevents parts with deviations from being processed.

Online training is being conducted by specialists from the Quality Department of KAMAZ PJSC. A new General Director of NEFAZ PJSC has been appointed

Effective April 1, 2026, Boris Khaziev, who previously held the positions of Deputy General Director – Executive Director of JSC OAT and General Director of LLC DLZ, has been appointed General Director of PJSC NEFAZ, a subsidiary of KAMAZ in Bashkortostan.

Boris Khaziev was born on August 25, 1980, in Neftekamsk. In 2004, he graduated from the Izhevsk State Technical University with a degree in Welding Equipment and Technology.

He has extensive experience in various positions at NEFAZ PJSC. His career began during his student years as a mechanic in the paint and assembly shop. From 2004 to 2009, he rose through the ranks from foreman to deputy head of the production shop. From 2010 to 2012, he served as deputy director of dump truck production. In subsequent years, he held the positions of head of the bus paint shop and head of the assembly and welding shop. From 2016 to 2024, he served as Deputy General Director and Director of Production at NEFAZ PJSC. Evgeny Korepanov, who has held the position of General Director of PJSC NEFAZ since August 2023, will continue his work outside the structure of PJSC KAMAZ.

The URAL MOTORSPORT team officially announces its participation in the international Taklimakan Rally 2026, which will take place in China from May 16 to June 3. The competition will offer the team a unique experience in the extreme conditions of the desert and mountain ranges.

The total route length will be 8,000 kilometers across the sandy roads and dunes of the Tien Shan Mountains. The race will start in Urumqi and finish in Aksu. Vladimir Putin launched the first driverless KAMAZ truck on the M-12 highway.

Today, March 31, as part of the "Unmanned Logistics Corridors" project, with the participation of Russian President Vladimir Putin, unmanned KAMAZ trucks launched their operations along the M-12 "Vostok" highway.

Highly automated KAMAZ vehicles (hereinafter referred to as HATS) from the MAYAK-2 project have been deployed on the M-12 highway as part of the expansion of the experimental legal regime (ELR) for the "Unmanned Logistics Corridors" project. The increased range expands logistics capabilities for transport companies and increases the versatility of cargo delivery.

As a reminder, the first stage of this federal project began in June 2023, with three unmanned KAMAZ long-haul trucks deployed on the M-11 Neva highway. Subsequently, the project's scope was expanded: in August 2024, Russian Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin signed a decree authorizing the launch of unmanned trucking on the Central Ring Road (CKAD) in the Moscow region and the M-12 Vostok highway. In April 2025, KAMAZ participated in the launch of unmanned traffic on the A113 (CKAD). Currently, 18 KAMAZ unmanned trucks are successfully operating on the M-11 and CKAD. The trucks transport real cargo, with a test engineer in the cab monitoring the process. During testing on the M-11 Neva and Central Ring Road highways, unmanned KAMAZ trucks traveled approximately 6 million kilometers and transported 732,000 cubic meters of cargo.

The main difference between the Mayak-1 and Mayak-2 VATS systems is their sanctions-resistant production. For example, the company's engineers replaced the AM side radars with OEM ones, which increased the speed determination accuracy from 0.6 to 0.16, increased the object recognition range from 45 m to 80 m, and improved the communication system.

During the experimental legal regime program, the company significantly improved its VATS technologies. Specifically, the lane keeping algorithm was refined and adjusted, the machine vision recognition range was increased from 80 m to 120 m, the radar vision range was increased from 50 m to 80 m, the lidar vision range was increased from 60 m to 120 m, and the lane detection range was increased from 16 m to 100 m.

"The introduction of an experimental legal regime on the M-11 Neva highway gave us the opportunity to launch highly automated KAMAZ vehicles on public roads and now allows us to test our developments in real-world conditions. Significant progress has been made over the past year. Today, the company's engineers are working on the next improved version of the vehicle – the MAYAK-3 – which will bring the project as close as possible to serial production. It incorporates redundant controls for the computer, steering, and braking systems. A sensor cleaning system has been added, which is especially important in the spring and fall. A semitrailer has been integrated into the integrated vision system. We plan to equip highly automated KAMAZ vehicles with "smart" semitrailers equipped with sensor elements. This will improve the safety of road trains and provide the opportunity to significantly expand the functionality of driverless trucks," commented Sergey Kogogin, CEO of KAMAZ PJSC.

KAMAZ Day was held in Kalkan

KAMAZ Day was aimed at seventh-grade students from the Kalkan Police Cadet School. Specialists explained the company's history, structure, and the technologies used in truck production. The students were particularly interested in the professions in demand at KAMAZ.

Next, together with their mentors, the children explored several professions during an interactive game – the students were invited to try their hand at being a designer, a technologist, and even a robot. The class was divided into two teams. While the designers created suitable "work clothes" for their robots, the lead technologist studied the assignment. He had to write down the robot's instructions – a program of actions – on separate sheets of paper. In the event of a malfunction, the teams had two attempts to correct the instructions.

SOLLERS Group launched the production of gearboxes for new models of the brand

The SOLLERS Group has begun production of the Sollers SF5 and Sollers SF7 6-speed manual transmissions for light commercial vehicles. The RosALit foundry, located in the Volga region of the SOLLERS Group, also produces casting and machining of gearbox housings.
