Moscow, January 5 (Xinhua) — The international community cannot allow the United States to assert itself as "some sort of supreme judge" following the American military operation in Venezuela, said Vasily Nebenzya, Russia's Permanent Representative to the UN.

"The United States cannot be allowed to assert itself as some sort of supreme judge, the sole authority to invade any country, determine the perpetrators, impose punishments, and execute them, regardless of the concepts of international jurisdiction, sovereignty, and non-interference," V. BEIJING, Jan. 5 (Xinhua) — Chinese Vice President Han Zheng met with former Canadian Prime Minister Jean Chretien in Beijing on Monday.

Beijing, January 5 (Xinhua) — China is pleased to see that the ceasefire consensus between Cambodia and Thailand is gradually being implemented and that the 18 detained Cambodian military personnel have safely returned home, Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesperson Lin Jian said on Monday.

Answering a question on the matter at a daily press briefing, the diplomat said China hopes Cambodia and Thailand will continue to look to the future and move forward, strengthen dialogue and communication, jointly achieve a comprehensive and sustainable ceasefire, gradually restore trust and improve relations.

TEHRAN, Jan. 5 (Xinhua) — Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesman Esmail Baghaei on Monday said the United States should release Venezuelan President Nicolas Maduro and condemned Washington's "illegal" actions against Venezuela's sovereignty.

Tbilisi, January 5 (Xinhua) — The Asian Development Bank (ADB) signed a $50 million loan agreement with Georgia's Rustavi Azot Joint Stock Company to support the modernization of the company's production facilities using energy-efficient technologies, the ADB office in Georgia announced on Monday.
