Since the beginning of 2025, 44 electric bus routes have been launched in Moscow. Eco-friendly transport has hit the roads in more than 60 districts of the capital. This year, electric buses began running in the village of Kokoshkino, and the largest number of eco-friendly routes (12) appeared in the South-West Administrative District. This was reported by the Deputy Mayor of Moscow for Transport and Industry Maxim Liksutov.

"With the launch of new equipment on the routes, the number of daily trips on electric buses has increased by 36 percent compared to last summer. Even more Muscovites began to use safe, comfortable and state-of-the-art transport, which minimizes the negative impact on the environment. We continue to improve the quality of passenger service within the framework of the Moscow transport development strategy until 2030, which was approved by Sergei Sobyanin," said Maxim Liksutov.

Eco-friendly transport of a modern city

The city is actively developing an environmentally friendly ground transportation network. Modern Russian-made electric buses have been making travel even more comfortable for passengers since 2018.

Improved equipment will be delivered to the capital from 2022. Such cars have adaptive interior lighting, which changes from a cold shade to a warm one at 14:00. The front route indicator, increased by 18 percent, makes it even easier to see the number from afar. The interior has an electric heater, which minimizes the impact on the environment and maintains an optimal temperature. The power reserve has increased from 40-50 to 80 kilometers, and the weight of the car has remained the same.

All electric buses meet safety and service standards. Smooth running, no noise or vibrations make trips comfortable. Low-floor transport is fully adapted for the comfort of passengers with limited mobility. For this purpose, a folding ramp and driver call buttons are provided. If necessary, he will help enter and leave the cabin. Bicycles, strollers or large luggage can be conveniently placed on the storage area.

The cabin has ports for charging gadgets, as well as media screens with useful information about the route. You can pay for travel in any convenient way using digital validators. In electric buses, an air curtain is activated when the doors are opened. It helps maintain a comfortable temperature in the cabin. For the safety of passengers, the transport is equipped with video cameras outside and inside.

Replacing one bus with such a vehicle reduces carbon dioxide emissions by more than 60 tons.

In 2024, more than 70 electric bus routes were launched in Moscow, and more than 800 innovative electric vehicles were delivered to the capital. Mosgortrans' electric bus fleet is the largest in Europe. More than 2,400 innovative KamAZ and LiAZ vehicles provide operation on more than 220 routes. It is expected that by 2035, almost the entire Mosgortrans fleet will switch to electric buses.

In 2025, the new generation of KAMAZ-52222 electric buses entered service. They have become even more comfortable thanks to an improved interior layout, a 15 percent larger storage area, space for hand luggage, and a modified door design. The climate control system has become even more efficient, and the doors now have light strips with opening and closing indicators. The appearance has become even more in line with modern trends in global industrial design. Under the contract with PJSC KAMAZ, this year it is planned to deliver 400 KAMAZ-52222 electric buses of the A5 generation. They are being created taking into account the operating experience of earlier models and passenger feedback. Moscow's order for the creation of new equipment supports employment in the regions and stimulates the development of domestic industry.

Infrastructure for electric buses

The corresponding infrastructure for eco-friendly transport is also being developed. For example, this year more than 50 ultra-fast charging stations were connected. The Novokosino site was completely transferred to servicing electric transport. Contracts have been signed for the delivery of another 1.1 thousand modern eco-friendly vehicles in 2025-2027, 100 of which have already arrived in the parks of the State Unitary Enterprise Mosgortrans.

In total, 400 ultra-fast charging stations have already been connected at terminal stations and operational sites, of which more than 50 will be connected in 2025.

Today, electric buses are serviced at 12 sites of the State Unitary Enterprise Mosgortrans. The capital was the first in Russia to start building modern electric bus depots. In 2022, the largest electric bus depot in Europe, Krasnaya Pakhra, opened in TiNAO. Eco-friendly vehicles appeared in the Novomoskovsky and Troitsky administrative districts. A year later, the Mitino depot was built in the northwest. With its opening, electric buses began running on routes in 20 districts of the capital and two nearby cities in the Moscow region. At the end of 2023, the third innovative electric bus depot, Saltykovka, began operating. It services routes in the east of the city.

Rosneft Receives Record Oil Flow at Well in Eastern Siberia

Translation. Region: Russian Federal

Source: Rosneft – An important disclaimer is at the bottom of this article.

Rosneft specialists have obtained a gushing flow of anhydrous oil with a flow rate of 709 tons/day at a production well drilled at the N.N. Lisovsky field. This figure is a record for Eastern Siberia and the Irkutsk Region, it exceeds the average starting flow rate of new wells at fields in the region by more than 7 times.

The N.N. Lisovsky deposit is a young asset of the Company and is part of the Danilovsky cluster along with the Severo-Danilovsky, Yuzhno-Danilovsky and Verkhneicherskoye deposits.

The main productive horizon of the N. N. Lisovsky field is Osinsky, formed by Cambrian rocks over 500 million years old. Searching for the most productive traps with hydrocarbon reserves in such horizons requires the use of advanced software packages, modern methods of processing and interpreting 3D seismic exploration data. Support for the development of the Danilovsky cluster fields is provided by specialists from Rosneft research institutes in Krasnoyarsk and Tyumen.

The coordinated work of the Rosneft oil and gas production unit, the corporate research center and research institutes allows us to fully reveal the potential of the promising Danilovsky cluster and expand the development of hydrocarbon reserves in the vast territory of Eastern Siberia.

Reference:

Rosneft is developing the Verkhnechonskoye oil and gas condensate field, one of the largest in Eastern Siberia, in the Katangsky District of the Irkutsk Region.

The company created the Danilovsky cluster in the north of the Irkutsk region, which unites four fields. The Severo-Danilovskoye oil and gas condensate field became the first and basic one for the subsequent involvement of satellite fields – Yuzhno-Danilovskoye, Zapadno-Danilovskoye, Verkhneicherskoye and N.N. Lisovsky.

The joint use of the production infrastructure of the Verkhnechonskoye deposit and the deposits of the Danilovsky cluster made it possible to achieve a synergistic effect and accelerate the introduction of new deposits into development.

TEHRAN, Aug. 26 (Xinhua) — Iran is fully aware of the negative consequences of a possible reimposition of UN sanctions under the snapback mechanism and is working to prevent such an outcome, Foreign Ministry spokesman Esmail Baghaei said on Tuesday.

He rejected claims that Tehran was downplaying the issue, adding that the country was concerned about the possible consequences.

The diplomat said Iran had made “significant efforts” to prevent such a move, pointing to ongoing talks with the EU3 (France, Britain and Germany, the European parties to the 2015 nuclear deal) in Geneva and consultations with other members of the UN Security Council.

Discussions are focused on lifting sanctions and the future of Resolution 2231, which underpins the nuclear deal, Baghaei said. Tehran will continue to be transparent about the peaceful nature of its nuclear program, he said.

The diplomat also stressed that the “European troika” has neither the legal nor the moral authority to launch the snapback mechanism.

Representatives of France, Britain and Germany recently warned of the possible activation of the snapback mechanism, which implies the restoration of all UN Security Council sanctions against Tehran in the event of no progress in negotiations on the Iranian nuclear program. –0–

Polytechnicians develop projects for Russian cities

An important disclaimer is at the bottom of this article.

Representatives of the Civil Engineering Institute took part in the ArchIng workshop, which traditionally takes place within the framework of the Summer School project. This year, the event brought together more than 50 schoolchildren, students and young professionals from different cities and universities.

The Civil Engineering Institute was represented by Alexandra Zatsepina, senior lecturer at the Higher School of Industrial, Civil and Road Construction, who acted as the scientific director of the architectural and school tracks, as well as ISI graduates Ekaterina Zorina (director of the workshop) and Valeria Kozodaeva (curator of the architectural direction).

The workshop’s partners were the companies Metropolis and Petersburg through the Eyes of an Engineer, the Joint Institute for Nuclear Research (JINR) and the Institute of Applied Urbanism.

The school track participants explored public spaces in Dubna: the Bolshoi Volzhsky Lighthouse, the Family Recreation Park, and the pier near the pedestal of the demolished monument to I. V. Stalin. The children visited the design site, took photographs, interviewed residents, and then created improvement projects and developed new architectural forms that embodied the memory and spirit of the place. For example, near the Bolshoi Volzhsky Lighthouse, the team proposed installing sculptures in memory of the political prisoners who built the lighthouse itself and the Moscow Canal.

On the architectural track, students and young professionals created art objects reflecting the unique identity of Krasnodar, Khabarovsk, Ulan-Ude, Vladivostok, Arkhangelsk and Chelyabinsk, which are currently experiencing population outflow. First, the participants collected associations related to each of the cities in zine albums. Then they rethought the images and embodied them in concepts of art objects that could become symbols of urban life and cultural heritage. For example, for Arkhangelsk, the guys reworked the image of a wooden bird of happiness, which is in every home, and for Vladivostok, they depicted colonies of Idiomarina Martina bacteria for cleaning the Sea of Japan.

Students and engineers of the design track created models of bridges. After a lecture on the development of span structures, which was given by the teacher, writer and head of the design bureau Anton Smirnov, the participants developed calculation schemes in software packages and implemented them using 3D printing. The projects included "Retro Bridge", "Celtic Grasshopper", "Whalebone" and "Arched Bridge". After testing, the winner was "Whalebone", which withstood a load of 29.8 kg with its own weight of only 1.2 kg.

Alexandra Zatsepina noted that the main success of the workshop is the formation of a community that opens up opportunities for joint projects and communication. This also contributed to strengthening cooperation between the university, companies and scientific organizations. In addition, the workshop showed how architects and engineers work and think, thanks to which many were able to decide on their choice of profession.

City heating networks prepared for autumn-winter period

Specialists from the city economy complex have completed hydraulic testing of heating networks in preparation for the autumn-winter period. This was reported by the Deputy Mayor of Moscow for Housing and Public Utilities and Improvement Petr Biryukov.

"Over nine thousand kilometers of main and 9.2 thousand kilometers of distribution networks have been prepared for uninterrupted operation. They provide heat supply to over 74 thousand buildings, including over 34 thousand residential buildings. At present, preparatory measures have been completed in full, hot water supply at city facilities has been restored," noted Pyotr Biryukov.

Testing of heating networks is one of the main areas of preparation for the heating season. Specialists identify potentially unreliable sections in advance and promptly restore them. Thanks to this, the heat supply to city residents' homes will be uninterrupted during the cold season.

This year, hydraulic testing included 585 ten-day stages. When testing heating networks, specialists from PAO MOEK set the pressure in the pipelines to exceed the working pressure, which simulated increased load during winter peaks of cold weather. Hot water was turned off for the duration of the tests.

During the summer maintenance work in the heat supply system, city services re-laid pipelines using modern technologies. In addition, preventive and major repairs of heating stations and central heating points were carried out throughout the capital. Craftsmen also checked and repaired in-house heating systems and water supply systems.
