WASHINGTON, Aug. 7 (Xinhua) — U.S. President Donald Trump said on Wednesday he plans to impose 100 percent tariffs on imported semiconductors.

"We will impose tariffs of approximately 100 percent on chips and semiconductors. But if you build in the United States of America, you will not have to pay," he told reporters at the White House.

Along with Apple CEO Tim Cook, the American president also announced that Apple plans to invest an additional $100 billion in the United States.

Apple said in a press release that the new commitment will significantly increase its investment in the U.S., which will total $600 billion over the next four years.

Apple also announced the American Manufacturing Program, which will increase its investments across America and encourage global companies to manufacture even more critical components in the United States.

It's Apple's latest pledge to bring more of its supply chain and advanced manufacturing back to the United States and avoid tariffs on its iPhones, local media reported on Wednesday.

In May, Trump threatened Apple and other phone makers with a 25 percent tariff on products made outside the United States. –0–

Specialists from the city services complex have completed 50 percent of the work on landscaping the territory of the Vinogradovo estate in the northeast of the capital, said the Deputy Mayor of Moscow for Housing and Public Utilities and Landscaping Petr Biryukov.

"This year we are putting in order part of the territory of the Vinogradovo estate in the Dolgie Prudy nature reserve. This territory is a cultural heritage site, so its special protected status was taken into account when developing the project. As part of the work, we will preserve the historical appearance and planning composition of the park as much as possible, while adapting the space for modern use," noted Petr Biryukov.

Workers are installing eco-trails behind the front area of the estate and near the Maly Dolgy Pond, installing lanterns and replacing fences. They are also building a sports cluster with a skate park, a multi-purpose field for playing mini-football and volleyball, and a workout zone.

According to Petr Biryukov, the main task is to make the territory accessible to residents, provide them with the opportunity for comfortable rest and ensure maximum preservation of the planning structure and garden and park elements. Most of the infrastructure will be located on eco-flooring so as not to harm nature. Pockets with gazebos for rest, benches, a rotunda with hanging swings and a place for events will be integrated into it. Specialists have already begun arranging a children's play area.

In the front area near the eastern and western wings, the road will be repaired, and on Dolgoprudnaya Alley, the roadway and sidewalks will be put in order, and contrasting lighting lamps will be installed.

Over two thousand joint purchases were made by capital customers on the supplier portal in six months

Translation. Region: Russian Federal

Source: Moscow Government – Government of Moscow –

An important disclaimer is at the bottom of this article.

During the first half of 2025, capital customers held more than two thousand joint quotation sessions onSuppliers portal.

This format allowed the city's institutions to save almost 500 million rubles. This was reported by Maria Bagreeva, Deputy Mayor of Moscow, Head of the Moscow Department of Economic Policy and Development.

"The format of joint quotation sessions on the supplier portal allows customers to join purchases initiated by other institutions in the same region. Large purchases attract more suppliers, which increases competition between them and allows saving budget funds. In January-June of this year, more than two thousand joint purchases worth 1.2 billion rubles took place on the portal, which is 35 percent higher than the figure for the same period last year. As a result, the city saved 486 million rubles – 73 percent more than in the first half of 2024," said Maria Bagreeva.

The opportunity for Moscow customers to participate in joint purchases appeared onSuppliers portal in autumn 2023. The organizer of the quotation session must specify the format "Joint purchase" and invite one or more customers from their region who need goods from the same category. The purchase will be available for publication after each customer specifies the quantity of products they need.

"The largest share in the volume of joint purchases — 309.2 million rubles — was for construction goods. Household goods and appliances came in second place — they were purchased for 123.8 million rubles. The top three included paper and office supplies, the purchase volume of which amounted to 96 million rubles," said the head of the Moscow City Department for Competition Policy

Kirill Purtov.

Earlier, Sergei Sobyanin reported that in the first half of 2025, the suppliers’ portal purchases amounting to almost 58 billion rubles.

The Supplier Portal is a convenient modern tool for entrepreneurs from all over the country. The operational format of purchases on the resource allows you to quickly conclude a contract, fulfill the conditions and make a profit.

As noted in the capital Department of Information Technology, to optimize the process of participation in quotation sessions and attract new users, a new feature appeared on the platform in 2022 auto betting bot. With its help, suppliers can participate in several quotation sessions at once. The service does not guarantee victory in a mini-auction, but it significantly saves entrepreneurs' time, optimizes their resources, and also promotes increased competition and a reduction in the initial contract price for customers.

A quotation session is a mini-auction, where participants compete with each other, consistently reducing the initial maximum price of the contract. Such procedures last for three, six or 24 hours. The winner is the participant who offered the lowest price.

Suppliers portal appeared in 2013 to automate small-volume purchases. Entrepreneurs offer more than 3.2 million goods, works and services. Every day, about 1.5 thousand contracts are concluded on the platform.

Representative offices operate in the regions to support users. There, specialists teach how to manage the platform, answer questions from customers and suppliers, hold face-to-face meetings, and collect suggestions for improving functions and solving technical problems. In addition, users can contact the support service at a single federal number: 7 800 303-12-34 or leave a request atwebsite.

The functional customer of the portal is the capital Department of Competition Policy, and its technical development is supervised by Department of Information Technology of the City of Moscow.

Development of electronic services for business corresponds to the objectives of the national project "Data Economy and Digital Transformation of the State" and the Moscow regional project "Digital Public Administration". An important disclaimer is at the bottom of this article.

Developments of capital companies are included inregister of Russian industrial products Ministry of Industry and Trade of the Russian Federation. This opens up new opportunities for participation in tenders, simplifies the procurement process and promotes the development of import substitution in the field of industrial equipment and educational technologies, reported Maxim Liksutov, Deputy Mayor of Moscow for Transport and Industry.

"On the instructions of Sergei Sobyanin, a set of support tools has been created in the city, thanks to which companies are successfully increasing production capacity and implementing innovative developments. The inclusion of new technological solutions in the register of the Ministry of Industry and Trade of Russia is a confirmation that the capital's industrial sector creates truly in-demand, high-quality and competitive equipment. These developments are now available to government customers without additional barriers, which opens up new horizons for the development of domestic mechanical engineering and educational robotics," emphasized Maxim Liksutov.

Moscow factories produce innovative products for the energy complex, industrial sector, transport, telecommunications, construction, space and other industries. The manufactured products fully meet current market demands.

"The inclusion of equipment from Moscow manufacturers in the register opens up new opportunities for participation in tenders and public procurement. Now customers from the public sector and the education sector can purchase domestic equipment without additional approval procedures, which significantly simplifies the procurement process and promotes the development of import substitution in the field of industrial equipment and educational technologies," he added.

Anatoly Garbuzov, Minister of the Moscow Government, Head of the Moscow Department of Investment and Industrial Policy.

One such example is the four-axis pre-industrial robots of the SAGA corporation. Since 2020, educational institutions across Russia have received about three thousand units of equipment. The SD1-4-350 complex is a full-fledged system for teaching schoolchildren and students the basics of robotics. It allows students to master the programming of robotic manipulators and prepare for the introduction of robotics into industrial production.

The robot is supplied in a robust aluminum case, which ensures its durability and reliability. Its load capacity is 0.5 kilograms, and the positioning accuracy is 0.2 millimeters with a working reach of up to 350 millimeters. The full-fledged educational complex is equipped with a holder for a pencil or felt-tip pen, a pneumatic suction cup, a mechanical gripper, a device for laser engraving and 3D printing, and much more.

The developer corporation has created teaching materials for schoolchildren and students, and continues to improve the software to expand the robot’s functionality.

The Beavermill Plus 800 M-series milling machining center from Beavertech, developed and manufactured in Moscow, also received official recognition and was included in the register. This confirms the high quality of the equipment and its compliance with modern industry requirements.

The machine is designed for round-the-clock operation in harsh production conditions. The size of the work table is 1050 by 630 millimeters, which makes it suitable for mass production. Thanks to the use of a frame made of synthetic diabase, the machine design is highly rigid. Particular attention is paid to automation capabilities. The equipment supports integration with industrial robots, is equipped with a system of interchangeable pallets and a remote monitoring function. All this simplifies the integration of the machine into existing production lines.

The list of Russian industrial products of the Ministry of Industry and Trade of Russia also officially includes a modern programmable logic controller for automation of industrial processes and control systems Logic Box, created by the company "Electroprivod NPC-IT". The device is distinguished by the ability to connect up to 20 modules, supports various types of interfaces, works with analog signals of 0-20 and 4-20 milliamperes and temperature sensors. The controller can be used to control local objects (ventilation, lighting) and complex systems at industrial enterprises, in the fuel and energy complex and housing and communal services. The equipment is equipped with a surge protection system and ensures high measurement accuracy. Software with data visualization is provided for configuration.

Muscovites undergo free diagnostics as part of a project to prevent gastrointestinal cancer

Translation. Region: Russian Federal

Source: Moscow Government – Government of Moscow –

An important disclaimer is at the bottom of this article.

A pilot project for the prevention of oncological diseases of the digestive organs was launched in Moscow more than two months ago. During this time, more than 70 thousand people have signed up for diagnostics, and about 22 thousand have already been examined. Patients undergo gastroscopy and colonoscopy in modern endoscopic centers under mild sedation. Gastroscopy can also be done in endoscopic rooms of city polyclinics under local anesthesia.

As a result of examinations, more than 17 thousand people were diagnosed with gastrointestinal tract (GIT) diseases for the first time, and almost 80 patients were diagnosed with oncology. This was reported by Anastasia Rakova, Deputy Mayor of Moscow for Social Development.

"The priority of the capital's medicine is to maintain the health and quality of life of city residents at any age. Early diagnosis and prevention of diseases, especially oncological ones, play an important role in this. It is always better to act proactively, since many types of cancer in the early stages can be asymptomatic. In particular, this is typical for malignant neoplasms of the gastrointestinal tract. Realizing the importance of timely diagnosis, at the initiative of the Moscow Oncology Society, more than two months ago we launched a pilot project for proactive endoscopic examinations. During this time, over 70 thousand people have signed up for the necessary examinations, and about 22 thousand have already completed them and received the results. More than 17 thousand patients were diagnosed with gastrointestinal diseases for the first time, and 77 had malignant neoplasms. In turn, precancerous conditions were detected in 100 people – this is exactly the situation when, with timely treatment and monitoring, the development of a malignant tumor can be prevented,” said Anastasia Rakova.

Today, Muscovites can undergo preventive endoscopic examinations free of charge as part of the project. Referrals for registration were automatically opened for patients who had not been examined for several years.

You can choose a convenient time for the patient to make an appointment in order to calmly prepare for the diagnostics. All procedures are painless and do not require hospitalization. Gastro- and colonoscopy are performed in modern endoscopic centers under mild sedation, while the stay in the medical institution takes no more than two hours. Gastroscopy can also be performed under local anesthesia in polyclinics – the procedure will last about half an hour.

Additionally, the study also includes an express test for the presence of Helicobacter pylori bacteria in the gastric mucosa. This bacteria can cause various health problems, including gastritis, which increases the risk of developing cancer. Thus, in 40 percent of cases, the studies conducted within the framework of the project gave a positive result. Timely diagnosis and complete destruction of this bacteria can prevent the development of peptic ulcer disease, reduce the risk of stomach cancer, and increase the effectiveness of treatment for gastritis and reflux disease.

For the first time, the Moscow Oncology Community has come forward with an initiative for a project to prevent oncological diseases of the gastrointestinal tract. A large-scale upgrade of the infrastructure and technical support of medical institutions allows the implementation of a proactive approach to detecting oncology in the capital. Moscow is completing its largest program reconstruction of city clinics. All buildings are equipped with the latest generation equipment. In total, more than 75 thousand units of medical devices have been delivered to the institutions within the framework of the program, including over 30 thousand units of modern equipment.
