In the Kalininsky district of St. Petersburg, repair work on Khlopina Street has been completed. The issue of the need to renew the road surface was raised atpersonal reception of citizens, which the Governor of St. Petersburg Alexander Beglov held on November 29, 2024. Then the city leadership was addressed by the Associate Professor of the Higher School of Public Administration, Deputy Director of the Institute of Mechanics and Technology, Maxim Ivanov. On the instructions of the Governor, a large-scale set of measures was implemented to improve street infrastructure.
During the repair the following works were carried out:
More than 7,000 square meters of road surface and sidewalks were renewed; new thermoplastic markings were applied; speed bumps were installed to improve safety; curbstones were lowered to provide an accessible environment for people with limited mobility, elderly people, and parents with strollers.
The repairs were completed within the established timeframe and in compliance with the required quality standards.
The Governor of St. Petersburg noted that over 108 thousand people live within the boundaries of the Akademicheskoe municipal district, where Khlopina Street runs. The importance of the work carried out is also due to the fact that by the end of 2025, a major overhaul of Gzhatskaya Street, which intersects with Khlopina, will be completed. The new circuit will ensure movement around the microdistrict without exiting onto key highways – Grazhdansky Prospekt and Prospekt Nepokorennykh.
