In the first eight months of 2025, work on 2,210 public spaces and 985 courtyards was completed as part of the federal project "Creating a Comfortable Urban Environment," Deputy Prime Minister Marat Khusnullin announced.

The Deputy Prime Minister noted that, thanks to the systematic work of regional teams led by governors, unique, sought-after places are being created in populated areas, radically changing the living and recreational environments of millions of Russians and stimulating the local economy.
"The federal project 'Formation of a Comfortable Urban Environment,' retained as part of the national project 'Infrastructure for Life' since 2025 by decision of the President of Russia, is a key instrument for the comprehensive development of regions. Since 2019, 77,000 public and courtyard areas have been improved within its framework, and 934 projects have been implemented – winners of the All-Russian competition for the best projects to create a comfortable urban environment. The results of the tenth, anniversary competition were traditionally summed up at the All-Russian Forum 'Development of Small Towns and Historical Settlements' in Kazan: 294 winners were identified, including 54 projects from the Far Eastern Federal District, which will be implemented in 2026–2027. The winning projects include 123 parks, 41 embankments, 42 squares, 88 streets and pedestrian zones. It is important to note that work within the framework of the project brings not only social but also significant economic benefits. "The effect. Memorial steles with the names of fallen soldiers were installed, and an area for commemorative events was landscaped. 3,000 square meters of new paving was laid, information plaques were updated, benches and trash cans were installed, and vertical landscaping techniques using coniferous trees were used.
Similar work is being carried out in the Rostov Region. For example, in the Kavalerskoye rural settlement, a 7,500 square meter park area adjacent to the monument to the soldiers of the Great Patriotic War has been improved.
Strelka Park in Nyandoma, located at a picturesque river confluence in the Arkhangelsk Region, has been transformed. Pedestrian paths have been updated, new benches and art objects have been installed, and a modern children's play area has been equipped. Furthermore, a block of wooden, low-rise Art Nouveau buildings in Nyandoma has been restored, creating a museum district, which has already led to a significant increase in tourist traffic.
In the Irkutsk region, the city of Usolye-Sibirskoye has implemented the "City from a Tram Window: Molecular Heritage" project on Mendeleyev and Internatsionalnaya Streets. The space, dedicated to the city's scientific heritage, is divided into thematic clusters symbolizing chemical elements. Interactive objects, smart benches, light installations, and art objects featuring molecular models have been installed.
Work has also been completed on the comprehensive improvement of the area in front of the city cultural center and the Geomash plant in Shchigry, Kursk region.
The implementation of the environmental project "Along the Banks" along the Druguski River in Kozelsk, Kaluga Region, continues.
