Marat Khusnullin: Construction of the Center for Innovative Educational Technologies in Artek is nearing completion.

Construction of the Center for Innovative Educational Technologies is nearing completion at the Solnechny camp on the grounds of the Artek International Children's Center. Deputy Prime Minister Marat Khusnullin announced this.

"The development of children's infrastructure directly impacts the quality of life of the younger generation. Modern facilities become centers of attraction, where schoolchildren engage in sports, creative activities, and socialize. This comprehensive approach fosters a healthy society and a confident future. Artek is a unique children's center that has remained a symbol of a happy childhood for a century, a place where character is forged, talents are discovered, and lifelong friendships are forged. We are undertaking extensive work to build new and renovate existing facilities at Artek as part of the state program for the socioeconomic development of the Republic of Crimea and the city of Sevastopol. Construction of the Center for Innovative Educational Technologies at Artek is currently nearing completion," said Marat Khusnullin.

The Deputy Prime Minister added that work on the center's building is currently 90% complete. Specialists are currently installing modern technological equipment and furniture. Finishing work and the installation of internal engineering systems are also nearing completion.

The center is designed to accommodate 1,200 students. In addition to classrooms, it will feature rehearsal and performance spaces, an amphitheater, modern workshops and laboratories, a 700-seat multi-purpose auditorium, and much more.

"Currently, construction workers are actively improving the surrounding area. Specialists are creating walking areas with designated areas for team members, completing the street and road network, and landscaping. All construction and installation work on the site is scheduled to be completed by the end of 2025," noted Karen Oganesyan, General Director of the Unified Customer Production and Consulting Company.

Konstantin Fedorenko, Director of the Artek International Children's Center, expressed gratitude to the builders, engineers, and everyone involved for their work, professionalism, and dedication in creating the new center.

"The work has reached the final stretch, and this is a truly significant event for all of Artek. We are creating not just an educational space, but a unique environment for developing talent, unparalleled in Russia. The center will combine cutting-edge classrooms, rehearsal rooms, modern laboratories, and a robust infrastructure for expressing oneself and learning new things. There truly is no other project for children of this scale and this level of equipment in the country today. This is a new flagship that will set the highest standards in supplementary education," said Konstantin Fedorenko.

October 10, 2025 UN

The top news of the day at the UN and around the world: The Nobel Peace Prize was awarded to a Venezuelan activist, the head of the UN condemned the attacks on Ukraine, UN humanitarian agencies mobilized to deliver aid to Gaza, and October 10 marks World Mental Health Day.

Nobel Peace Prize

The UN Secretary-General congratulated Venezuelan activist and politician María Corina Machado on her Nobel Peace Prize. The UN chief noted that for decades, Machado was a champion of democracy and a voice of unity in her country. He stated that at a time when democracy and the rule of law are under threat around the world, awarding the prize to Machado is a tribute to all those who defend civil and political rights.

Strikes against Ukraine

The UN chief condemns last night's Russian drone and missile attacks, which reportedly "targeted critical civilian and energy infrastructure in Ukraine," the UN spokesman said at a briefing in New York. The strikes resulted in civilian casualties, including a child. The attacks also reportedly caused widespread power and water outages in several regions, including Kyiv. The Secretary-General reiterated his call for a complete, immediate, and unconditional ceasefire.

Aid for Gaza

On Friday, after the ceasefire agreement between Israel and Hamas came into effect, thousands of Gazans fled to the northern part of the enclave. All UN humanitarian agencies mobilized to provide aid to the Strip. They prepared to deliver 170,000 tons of food, medicine, and other goods to Gaza. World Health Organization (WHO) representative Christian Lindmeier called for unimpeded delivery of humanitarian aid "along all possible routes."

World Mental Health Day

According to the UN, one in five people affected by conflict faces mental health issues. However, many are unable to access the care they need, particularly in low- and middle-income countries where healthcare systems are under-resourced. In his message for World Mental Health Day, celebrated on October 10, UN Secretary-General António Guterres called on states to prioritize mental health support for people affected by conflict, natural disasters, and other emergencies.

October 10, 2025 Peace and security

The UN Secretary-General condemns last night's Russian Federation drone and missile strikes, which allegedly "targeted critical civilian and energy infrastructure in Ukraine" and reportedly resulted in civilian casualties, including the death of a child, and injuries to several others.

As UN spokesman Stéphane Dujarric emphasized at a press briefing on Friday, the strikes led to widespread power and water outages in several regions, including Kyiv, affecting millions of people ahead of the winter season.

“Attacks on civilians and civilian infrastructure, wherever they occur, are prohibited by international law and must stop immediately,” Dujarric recalled.

The Secretary-General, he said, once again urges a complete, immediate and unconditional ceasefire on the territory of Ukraine, which will pave the way for a just, comprehensive and sustainable peace in accordance with the UN Charter, international law and UN resolutions.

Beijing, October 10 (Xinhua) — No statement or action by Taiwan's Prime Minister Lai Qingde can stop the historical trend of China's inevitable reunification, Chen Binhua, spokesperson for the Taiwan Affairs Office of the State Council, said on Friday.

Chen Binhua made the statement in response to the erroneous rhetoric regarding cross-strait relations contained in Lai Qingde's speech the same day.

Only by adhering to the one-China principle and the 1992 consensus can peace and stability between the two sides of the Taiwan Strait be truly guaranteed and a good life for Taiwanese compatriots can be ensured, the official said.

He noted that abandoning the one-China principle, rejecting the 1992 consensus, and promoting "Taiwan independence" would create tension and turbulence in the Taiwan Strait and harm the economy and interests of the people of Taiwan.

Chen Binhua stated that in his speech today, Lai Qingde persisted in his stance of pursuing "Taiwan independence," embellished the so-called "threat from the Chinese mainland," and distorted the history of World War II and UN General Assembly Resolution 2758, in a futile attempt to advance his separatist agenda through force and reliance on external support.

However, Lai Qingde's erroneous statements and actions cannot change the historical and legal fact that Taiwan belongs to China, nor the international consensus that Taiwan is part of Chinese territory, the official representative said.

“We will join our Taiwan compatriots in firmly opposing separatists advocating ‘Taiwan independence’ and foreign interference, firmly safeguard the common home of the Chinese nation, and unite in building a bright future of national reunification and rejuvenation,” Chen Binhua concluded. –0–
