BEIJING, Oct. 15 (Xinhua) — The People's Bank of China (PBOC, the central bank) on Tuesday announced it will conduct a 600 billion yuan (about 84.48 billion U.S. dollars) direct reverse repo operation on Oct. 15 to maintain sufficient liquidity in the country's banking system.

The transaction will be carried out over a period of 6 months or 182 days based on a fixed volume method, interest rate tender, and multiple pricing, the bank said in a statement.

Direct reverse repo operations are a tool introduced by the National Bank of the Republic of Kazakhstan to manage liquidity in the country's banking system. They are conducted once a month for a period of no more than one year.

These operations enriched the state's monetary policy toolkit, complementing previous measures, including temporary repos, temporary reverse repos, and the purchase and sale of government bonds. -0-

BEIJING, Oct. 15 (Xinhua) — Revenue at Chinese enterprises has maintained a steady growth trend this year, according to the latest tax data, underscoring continued signs of resilience in the overall economy.

Annual growth in quarterly sales revenue for businesses reached 2.1 percent, 3.1 percent, and 4.4 percent in the first, second, and third quarters of 2025, respectively, demonstrating a stable recovery in business activity nationwide, the General Administration of Taxation (GATT) of China reported on Tuesday.

Economists believe these figures reflect the effectiveness of the government's countercyclical measures implemented since September last year.

"The data confirmed that enterprise profitability is gradually improving, consumer activity continues to grow, and the overall economy has developed steadily and positively," said Chen Binkai, vice-rector of the Central University of Finance and Economics (Beijing).

Data released Tuesday also showed that the country's tax revenues before export rebates have shown positive growth for eight consecutive months since February. In the second and third quarters, tax revenues increased by 2.6 percent and 6.9 percent year-on-year, respectively.

The State Tax Service emphasized the high tax collection figures achieved in the third quarter of 2025, particularly in September, and attributed this steady growth to an improving economic situation, a reduction in the decline in producer prices, and a relatively low base in the same period last year.

The manufacturing sector continued to play a key role, accounting for 31 percent of total tax revenue and 48 percent of total growth. High-tech manufacturing, in particular, grew at a faster rate, demonstrating progress in industrial modernization.

Among the main tax categories, revenue from the domestic value-added tax increased by 3.2 percent year-on-year, while revenue from corporate income tax increased by 4.1 percent, indicating improved business performance. -0-

Ankara, October 15 (Xinhua) — Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan said on Tuesday that the ceasefire agreement reached in Sharm el-Sheikh, Egypt, should not be mistaken for a final settlement of the Palestinian issue. He also called on Israel to fulfill its obligations and warned against possible violations.

"It would be wrong to view this as a document that resolves the Palestinian issue. Essentially, it's a ceasefire agreement," he told reporters upon his return from Egypt.

He added that the only "genuine solution" to the Palestinian issue is the creation of an independent and sovereign Palestinian state within the 1967 borders with East Jerusalem as its capital.

On Monday, R.T. Erdogan, Egyptian President Abdel Fattah el-Sisi, US President Donald Trump and Qatari Emir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani signed a document in support of the ceasefire agreement in the Gaza Strip at a summit in Sharm el-Sheikh, Egypt.

"These signatures are not just symbolic – they signify our commitment to peace as part of history," the semi-official Anadolu news agency quoted the Turkish president as saying.

He called on Israel to fulfill its obligations under the agreement.

"Israel has a bad record of violating the ceasefire. This situation forces us to be more vigilant and meticulous," he said, adding that Turkey, the United States, and other countries are committed to working to maintain the ceasefire.

Beijing, October 15 (Xinhua) — China and Russia are seeking to establish a new Eurasian logistics artery along a cross-border route connecting Changchun, the capital of Jilin Province, the Hunchun Port of Jilin Province, and the Russian capital. A cooperation agreement to this effect was recently signed by Jilin Province Logistics Group Co., Ltd. and the Russian company RZD Logistics.

According to the official website of the State Postal Administration of China, citing local media, the agreement includes a number of initiatives to accelerate efforts to build the highway, including streamlining customs clearance procedures, upgrading cargo handling technologies, and improving transport efficiency. These measures are aimed at reducing cross-border logistics costs for products in competitive industries in Jilin Province, such as automotive manufacturing and agricultural processing.

The agreement also outlined the goal of achieving the throughput capacity of the future Changchun-Hunchun-Moscow logistics route, comparable to that of the existing Manzhouli-Zabaikalsk border crossing. Manzhouli is considered the largest land border crossing for cargo turnover between China and Russia.

The Jilin Provincial Logistics Corporation promised that, to ensure the smooth operation of the aforementioned route, the corporation is committed to continuously improving the efficiency of rail service organization, updating the operating models of relevant checkpoints, and accelerating steps toward creating an integrated service system in the "logistics, production, and trade" format.

RZD Logistics acknowledged Jilin Province's status as a logistics hub in Northeast China, offering a natural geographic advantage for connecting China and Russia. In addition to building the aforementioned logistics artery, the company also expressed its intention to work with its Jilin partner to optimize the existing Hunchun-Kamyshovaya-Moscow transport line, leveraging the capacity of the Trans-Siberian Railway and the Jilin Provincial Border Crossing.

Minsk, October 15 (Xinhua) — Belarus's exports of goods and services from January to August 2025 reached $32.8 billion, exceeding the same period last year by $300 million. The corresponding information was published by the press service of the Belarusian Ministry of Economy on Tuesday.

Services accounted for the bulk of the growth, growing by nearly $1 billion, primarily due to the transportation and construction sectors. Meanwhile, sales of Belarusian goods were 2.5% lower than last year. The decline was due to volume shipments amid rising average export prices.

The Belarusian Ministry of Economy's press service noted that the country continues to strengthen its position in distant foreign markets. Products under the "Made in Belarus" brand are increasingly gaining consumer trust in Latin America, Africa, Southeast Asia, and Central Asia. Exports to these regions are showing strong growth: exports to Latin America increased by 1.5 times, and to Asian countries by 1.3 times. Exports to Africa have maintained high growth rates for the second year in a row.

A gradual slowdown in imports has also been observed, contributing to an improvement in the foreign trade balance. In August, the negative balance narrowed by $200 million.

Minsk, October 15 (Xinhua) — Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko announced on Tuesday that the country is ready to conclude a major deal with the United States, but with due consideration for Belarusian interests. The Belarusian leader's press service released the statement on the same day.

Speaking about Belarus-US relations, the Belarusian president noted that the trend of resuming bilateral dialogue has gained "some positive momentum." He recalled that several meetings with US presidential special envoys have recently taken place in Minsk.

"Experience has shown that the Americans are conducting all these contacts solely for pragmatic purposes. Of course, our policy of resuming relations with the US must also be built solely in Belarus's interests," the Belarusian head of state noted.

At the same time, according to A. Lukashenko, Belarus can make certain compromises and take the first steps toward meeting its objectives, expecting the Americans to fulfill their promises. This is what is happening, for example, with the lifting of sanctions against the Belarusian airline Belavia. The Belarusian leader noted that the US has announced the lifting of sanctions against the airline, but a number of questions remain.

"Lifting these sanctions doesn't completely free Belavia from a number of obligations. And we can't always fly, repair, or buy aircraft everywhere. The Americans acknowledge this. They say it will take some time to resolve this. Fine. We'll wait for their global proposals, a grand deal, as they say. We're ready for that. But our interests must also be taken into account. And everything must be fair, as we once agreed with the Americans," Lukashenko concluded.
