On August 28, 2025, the certificates were presented to graduates of the Preparatory Department for Foreign Citizens in the hall of the Scientific Library of the State University of Management. Students from different countries: Mali, Pakistan, China, Vietnam, Chad, Syria, Great Britain and other countries successfully completed training in additional general education programs "Preparation for admission to a university for foreign citizens" (economic profile) and "Quick Start – a program of preparation for admission to a university for foreign citizens" (humanitarian profile).

The event was opened by the adviser to the rector of the State University of Management Sergey Karseka. In his speech, he congratulated those present on receiving their graduation documents and noted that during their studies, the students became part of the large international family of the State University of Management, mastered one of the most difficult languages in the world – Russian, and got acquainted with the rich culture of our large country. The adviser also thanked the head of the Department of Russian Language and General Disciplines Larisa Talalova and the teachers present for their high-quality preparation and individual approach to each student.

Professor Larisa Talalova also warmly congratulated the graduates and expressed gratitude to her colleagues for their incredible dedication and high professionalism.

After the presentation of the certificates, on behalf of the graduates, Adam Nasrullah from Afghanistan, Adam Moussa Hassan from Chad expressed words of gratitude to the university and its teachers, and Khade Bane from Mali, in addition to words of gratitude, also read the poem by A.S. Pushkin “I loved you”.

During the year, many foreign students, as well as undergraduates, graduate students and postgraduates not only studied, but also actively participated in the social, scientific and sports life of the SUM. Taking advantage of the opportunity, the adviser to the rector of the SUM Sergey Karseka presented letters of gratitude to the activists for their active participation in the life of the international community of the university and the promotion of the SUM brand in the inter-university international space and wished them further sports and creative victories, success in their studies.

The ceremonial meeting, as per tradition, ended with a group photo session.

On August 28, 2025, a meeting of the working group of the Eurasian Network University (ESU) was held at the State University of Management. The event, which brought together participants in person and online, was dedicated to strategic planning of the consortium's activities for the upcoming academic year.

Opening the meeting, the head of the ESU Secretariat, vice-rector of the State University of Management Dmitry Bryukhanov congratulated his colleagues on a significant achievement – winning the prestigious competition "Symbols of Eurasian Integration". This award became recognition of the successful work of the consortium on the development of human capital in the Eurasian space.

The central topic of discussion was preparation for key events in the life of the network university. Participants unanimously supported the initiative to hold the III ESU Forum in the Kyrgyz Republic at Osh State University. This decision continues the tradition of rotating venues, strengthening the international status of the project. In this regard, it was decided to hold the next meeting of the ESU Coordination Council in October this year, also in Osh, which will effectively combine two important events.

The working group considered the issue of new universities joining the consortium, which demonstrates the growing authority of ESU. It was decided to consider applications from candidates at the upcoming ESU Coordination Council in October 2025.

The working group members discussed the issue of holding the ESU Olympiad in 2025. The report was given by Konstantin Kemaev, Head of the International Cooperation Department of the Nizhny Novgorod State University named after N.I. Lobachevsky, the operator of the ESU Olympiad.

Head of the ESU Secretariat Dmitry Bryukhanov outlined the dates for the formation of a joint work program for the 2025-2026 academic year for participating universities to submit proposals for events.

The meeting was held in a constructive manner and allowed us to outline clear contours for further joint work, strengthening the partnership between universities of the Eurasian Economic Union.

On the eve of the new academic year, Peter the Great St. Petersburg Polytechnic University celebrated an important event again— the beginning of the school journey of the children of its employees. 88 boys and girls, who will go to first grade for the first time in 2025, received gift school sets.

A real holiday of knowledge was organized in the research building of Technopolis Polytech. Children sang songs from their favorite cartoons and danced to cheerful melodies. Of course, conversations quickly began and new friends were made. "How old are you?" one girl asked. "I'm seven, I'm already in first grade," another proudly answered. And soon the children were surprised to find out that each of them was starting their own exciting journey into the world of knowledge.

We are very glad that today you came to visit your moms and dads, grandmas and grandpas at work. We hope that you will visit the Polytechnic more and more often, and then enroll in our university. You have a wonderful time ahead of you. Fun moments, new friends and good people await you. I wish you to go through this path with interest and responsibility, and also to gain a lot of knowledge. And I would like to wish strength and patience to parents, grandmas and grandpas, – Vice-Rector for Information, Youth Policy and Security Maxim Pasholikov greeted the young guests.

The characters of the fairy tale "The Golden Key" – Buratino, Malvina, Harlequin, Basilio the cat and Alice the fox – turned the science building into a magical land of adventures, organizing interactive games, tricks, quizzes and mini-experiments for the first-graders. The children watched in fascination as clouds of multi-colored soap bubbles floated in the air.

Of course, there were gifts. The children received capacious bags with a set of stationery, balloons and bracelets with the Polytechnic symbols. In the finale, Harlequin invited the first-graders on an exciting journey to the second floor, where ice cream, juices and water were waiting for them in the cafe.

Lyudmila Chishko came to the celebration with her two granddaughters – Valeria, who is going to first grade this year, and Polina, who will become a first grader in three years.

We really hope that both granddaughters will one day study at this glorious university. My son Sergey Chishko is a research engineer at the Engineering Center "Computer Engineering Center". My daughter-in-law is also a graduate of the Polytechnic University. When they got married nine years ago, just unveiled a monument to Saints Peter and Fevronia on the university grounds. They were photographed on their wedding day, and they entered the history of the Polytechnic University, said Lyudmila Gennadyevna.

When my son saw a backpack with the Polytechnic logo, he immediately said: "Now I am also a Polytechnician." It is incredible to feel that your child is already a part of something big, – shared the director of the Center for Additional Professional Programs of the Civil Engineering Institute Ksenia Strelets.

The initiator of the holiday for first-graders was the SPbPU Human Resources Directorate.

We really wanted the children of our polytechnics to remember the beginning of their studies with pleasant emotions. We are happy to give them the opportunity to start their school journey with unforgettable impressions and gifts, to expand their understanding of the place where their parents work. On my own behalf, I can say that I was happy to see such bright smiles and sincere interest in our little guests. We are looking forward to the next meetings and new joint adventures, – noted the head of the HR Directorate Maria Pakhomova.

Each branded set included a bag for changing shoes, a white T-shirt, a pencil case, pens, an eraser, a map case, a ruler, markers, an album, notebooks, a bottle for drinking, and reflectors. The gift became not only help for the beginning of the school year, but also a symbol of attention from the native university of the father and mother, as well as a reminder that children and adults are part of a large and friendly polytechnic family.

In order to implement network interaction in the educational program of the bachelor's degree "IT Entrepreneurship", a group of 3rd year students, future managers from the Samara State University of Economics, arrived at the State University of Management on August 26.

The next day, in the cozy atmosphere of the coworking space of the Scientific Library of the State University of Management, guests from the Volga region were greeted by Vice-Rector Dmitry Bryukhanov, who wished them a speedy adaptation to the new place and successful studies. The guys also met their teachers and curators.

Let us remind you that students from Samara have been coming to Moscow for the second year in a row, staying in our dormitory, participating in various events and becoming part of the State University of Management, not forgetting about the main purpose of their visit – studying.

While mastering part of their educational program at the State University of Management, the students will acquire new professional competencies in the field of IT technologies. For a whole year, they will study disciplines, perform practical tasks and develop projects in business informatics. As a result, they will be awarded a second, additional qualification in the training direction 38.03.05 Business Informatics. This will make them even more competitive in the labor market.

For the student teaching team "Yunost", summer is not just a vacation, but a real rhythm of life, where every day is filled with events, emotions and a sense of responsibility. This year, the polytechnicians worked in children's health camps in the Leningrad Region: "Chaika", "Golubaya Strela" and "Meridian".

During the summer season, Yunost activists do not have lectures or notes on the counselor's business, but real situations arise that require a quick reaction, a creative approach and the ability to work in a team. Every day is a new challenge: from planning events to resolving conflicts, from morning exercises to an evening campfire. And if at the beginning it seems that three weeks is a lot, then by the end of the shift you understand how quickly time has flown and how much has happened.

The guys work not only as counselors, but also as club leaders, inspiring children to be creative, and also hold positions in the press center, preserving the most valuable moments. They even become substitute counselors, who are always ready to help during heavy workloads.

The guys admit that they do all this for the sake of emotions: children's laughter, gratitude from parents, observations of how boys and girls grow and become more self-confident. This is the most valuable feedback that helps to understand that everything is not just like that.

This shift became the best proof for me: there are no bad children – there is unspent energy that can be turned into creativity! I was lucky to work with very active and emotional children – yes, sometimes it was not easy, but this was our main advantage. As soon as we started talking about the upcoming concert, the squad quickly got down to work. As a result, we were repeatedly noted for our unconventional approach. And although we did not always receive awards, the main victories were not them at all, but the happy eyes of the children, their happy smiles and desire to create together, – shared a fighter of the SPO "Yunost" Tatyana Shmeleva.

Organizational issues caused a lot of trouble during the shift. And here the squad friends came to the rescue, who would support and not let you get bored.

The work season for the Yunost squad is not just a summer job, but a whole life. The guys gain experience and create valuable moments of their youth – the very ones that will warm the soul many years later. And all this thanks to working in a large and friendly team – the squad family.

Rector of SPbPU Andrey Rudskoy took part in a meeting with heads of state authorities and organizations, which was chaired by Assistant to the President of Russia and Head of the Marine Collegium Nikolay Patrushev. The topic of the meeting was the priority tasks for the development of engineering education.

The main focus of the discussion was on the role of the new national higher education system in improving the quality of engineering training. The meeting participants paid special attention to federal educational and methodological associations (FEMA) as an important element of the new nationally oriented higher education system. In his report on this topic, SPbPU Rector Andrey Rudskoy analyzed the key success factors of the domestic FEMA system and emphasized the need to preserve and develop its fundamental principles during the upcoming update.

The history of FUMO began in 1988, when the country began the transition from a planned economy to a market economy. Until that time, the content and methods of education in a specific specialty for all higher education institutions were determined by one of them, appointed by the ministry. But in the conditions of the emerging market economy, this approach ceased to be effective. In order to take into account the diversity of the economy and the requirements of employers and, at the same time, to maintain a single educational space, a system of federal educational and methodological associations was created, in which all universities in the country were represented. At the same time, basic universities ceased to be the only developers of educational programs and methods, turning into coordinators and organizers of educational processes. Thanks to this reform, it was possible to combine the traditions of scientific and methodological schools of basic universities with the intellectual capabilities and interests of all interested universities in Russia and employers without exception.

"Now, when the system is being restarted, there is a good opportunity to use the fundamental principles of FUMO activities that have proven their effectiveness, modernizing them in accordance with modern requirements," Andrey Rudskoy concluded. "It is especially important to preserve and strengthen the potential of engineering FUMOs as highly professional communities based on unique scientific and methodological schools."
