Conakry, January 4 (Xinhua) — Guinea's Supreme Court on Sunday evening validated the final results of the December 28, 2025, presidential election, declaring Mamady Doumbouya the winner with 86.72 percent of the vote and proclaiming him President of Guinea.

At a press briefing, the first Chief Justice of the Supreme Court, Fode Bangura, officially announced the election of M. Dumbuya as president for a seven-year term in accordance with the country's constitution.

According to previously published data from Guinea's Directorate General of Elections, approximately 6.8 million voters were registered to participate in the elections. Voter turnout was initially announced at 80.95 percent, but was later revised by the Supreme Court and increased to 82.86 percent.

The presidential election marked a major step in Guinea's efforts to restore constitutional order. In September 2021, then-President Alpha Condé was overthrown in a military coup, leading to the establishment of a transitional government led by M. Doumbouya.

BEIJING, Jan. 4 (Xinhua) — State Council Taiwan Affairs Office spokesperson Chen Binhua on Sunday warned that separatist forces will never be allowed to separate Taiwan from China under any pretext or by any means.

Chen Binhua made the statement while responding to a media question about a proposal by some lawmakers from Taiwan's Democratic Progressive Party (DPP) to revise the island's current regulations on cross-strait relations.

According to the official representative of the office, this proposal disregards the prevailing public opinion in Taiwan and the well-being of the island's residents, openly challenges the historical and legal fact of Taiwan's belonging to China, and is a futile attempt to change the status quo, according to which there is only one China in the world, while the mainland and Taiwan belong to the same China.

According to Taiwanese media reports, the DPP lawmakers' proposal aims to revise the definition of cross-shore relations to define them as relations between "Taiwan and the People's Republic of China" and remove the phrase "until national reunification" from the existing provision.

"This is a blatant attempt to achieve de jure 'Taiwan independence,' a deliberate attempt to escalate tensions between the two sides, and a serious undermining of peace and stability in the Taiwan Strait," Chen Binhua said, adding that this fully exposes the essence of Lai Qingde and the DPP administration as "notorious destroyers of peace, perpetrators of crises, and warmongers."

As Chen Binhua emphasized, the mainland is fully confident in its own strength and has sufficient potential to smash to pieces any separatist plans.

The spokesperson for Taiwan Affairs of the State Council Office of the People's Republic of China warned that if separatists dare to act recklessly and cross the red line, the mainland will take decisive measures in accordance with the PRC Anti-Secession Law. –0–

Pyongyang, January 4 (Xinhua) — The Foreign Ministry of the Democratic People's Republic of Korea (DPRK) on Sunday condemned the latest US actions against Venezuela, calling them an infringement on the country's sovereignty, the Korean Central News Agency (KCNA) reported.

"The DPRK Foreign Ministry strongly condemns the US hegemonic actions in Venezuela as the most serious form of encroachment on sovereignty and a brazen violation of the UN Charter and international law," KCNA quoted the official representative of the DPRK Foreign Ministry as saying.

The North Korean diplomat emphasized that the gravity of the current situation is a consequence of the United States' use of brute force, which is further destabilizing the already fragile situation in the region. He called the latest US actions against the Latin American country "yet another example that once again confirms the bandit nature of the United States."

The international community must recognize the gravity of the current situation and express protest and condemnation over the US's habitual trampling on the sovereignty of other states, the official representative of the DPRK Foreign Ministry added.
