In 2026, 95 clusters from 43 Russian regions will join the federal "Professionalism" project of the national "Youth and Children" project. They will train specialists in 20 sectors in demand by the country's economy. This was announced by Deputy Prime Minister Dmitry Chernyshenko and Minister of Education Sergei Kravtsov.

"The 'Professionality' federal project allows us to build a system in which specialist training is tailored to the needs of enterprises. Our President, Vladimir Vladimirovich Putin, has called personnel issues fundamental to the country's development. The creation of new 'Professionality' clusters within the framework of the 'Youth and Children' national project is a direct investment in Russia's future. Currently, 506 clusters in 86 regions cover 24 key economic sectors. As part of the "Professionality" program, employers participate in the development of training programs, provide modern equipment and mentors, and graduates enter production with real competencies and a readiness to begin work immediately.

Clusters will be opened in the following industries: agriculture (14), mechanical engineering (11), transport industry (9), construction industry (8), education (6), mining industry, information technology, light industry, fuel and energy complex, chemical industry (5 clusters each), clinical and preventive medicine, metallurgy, tourism and services (4 clusters each), electrical industry (3), radio electronics (2), rail transport, robotics industry, art and creative industry, electronics industry, forestry industry (one cluster each).

Education Minister Sergei Kravtsov clarified that the presentations of the activity plans for the "Professionality" clusters opening in 2026 and their operational strategies for 2026–2028 will be held in Kaluga on February 26 and 27 at the Federal Technopark for Professional Education. This event will help identify growth areas and areas for improving the clusters' performance.

"The 'Professionalism' project has become a systemic mechanism for transforming secondary vocational education. Thanks to the project, modern workshops are being created in colleges and technical schools, curricula are being updated, and training periods are being shortened. This model of training specialists tailored to specific employer needs has proven itself to be highly effective. Deputy Prime Minister and Presidential Plenipotentiary Representative in the Far Eastern Federal District Yuri Trutnev held a meeting on the issue of "Eliminating Administrative Restrictions in the Elimination of the Consequences of Emergencies."

"We have gathered to discuss the issue of emergency response. Unfortunately, emergencies are common in the Far East. These include fires, floods, and other natural disasters. An interim meeting was held today. We need to address this issue not only within the context of the current emergency situation. We need to take precautions in advance, not wait until homes burn down. Kabul, February 16 (Xinhua) — A new salt production and processing plant with a daily capacity of 240 metric tons has opened in Balkh Province in northern Afghanistan, the official Bakhtar News Agency reported on Monday.

The plant was built by a domestic investor, with an investment of $8 million. It will meet a significant portion of Afghanistan's domestic salt demand. ISLAMABAD, Feb. 16 (Xinhua) — At least six people were killed in a collision between a car and a trailer on a national highway in Pakistan's southern Sindh province on Monday, rescue officials said.

The accident occurred in the Naushahro-Feroze district. A car heading to the provincial capital, Karachi, collided with a trailer, a 1122 rescue service official told Xinhua.

"The impact was powerful, the car was completely destroyed. All six passengers died instantly," the official said.

Rescue teams took the bodies to a nearby hospital, where all victims were pronounced dead.

Chongqing, Feb. 16 (Xinhua) — A new integrated intelligent driving laboratory, capable of simultaneously simulating real vehicles, dynamic road traffic, and climate conditions, recently opened in southwest China's Chongqing Municipality.

As reported by China Media Group, this lab, covering over 5,000 square meters, is the world's first full-cycle testing facility integrating simulation of vehicle control, rain, fog, and lighting conditions, as well as complex traffic flows. This allows for the creation of a more realistic and effective intelligent driving testing system.

According to available information, the laboratory will provide comprehensive safety validation for vehicles with intelligent driving systems prior to mass production, covering both extreme and realistic scenarios. The goal is to strengthen the technological foundation and improve the safety of future intelligent mobility, as well as support the high-quality development of the intelligent vehicle industry.

It's worth noting that this laboratory developed the first intelligent towing system, a mechanism capable of towing vehicles at speeds of up to 130 km/h, exceeding the industry standard of 100 km/h. This allows for the precise simulation of road user behavior, including scenarios involving the sudden appearance of pedestrians.

In addition, the lab is equipped with an environmentally-responsive system that continuously adjusts rain, fog, and lighting conditions to realistically recreate dynamic weather changes.

Another breakthrough is the real-time integration of the physical environment and complex traffic flows. Here, real vehicles can instantly interact with simulated traffic in realistic conditions, solving the fragmentation problem typical of traditional laboratory testing.

Rosneft held cross-country skiing in Tyumen
