BEIJING, Aug. 25 (Xinhua) — The 2025 Beijing Cultural Forum will be held in the Chinese capital from Sept. 23 to 24, with the approval of the State Council of the People's Republic of China.

The event will be organized by the Propaganda Department of the CPC Central Committee, the Beijing Committee of the CPC and the Beijing City Administration.

Let us recall that the permanent theme of the Beijing Cultural Forum is “Continuity, Innovation, Mutual Learning”, and this year it will be held under the slogan “Integrated Development of Culture and Science”.

HONG KONG, Aug. 25 (Xinhua) — Chinese real estate developer China Evergrande Group officially delisted from the Hong Kong Stock Exchange on Aug. 25.

Earlier, the Hong Kong Stock Exchange announced that China Evergrande Group's status as a listed company would be revoked as of 09:00 on August 25.

The exchange also reported that the company's shares have not been traded since January 29, 2024. According to the relevant regulations, if the company fails to restore trading in its shares by July 28, 2025, it will be delisted.

In 2024, the China Securities Regulatory Commission held the company administratively liable in accordance with laws for fraudulent bond issuance and information disclosure violations, requiring the company to correct its mistakes, issuing a reprimand with a warning, and imposing a fine of 4.175 billion yuan.

Polytechnicians are winners and prize winners of the Russian Orienteering Championship

The Russian Orienteering Championship was held in Kazan. It was attended by 85 men and 85 women from 35 regions of the country. The routes of the disciplines ran through picturesque places of the capital of Tatarstan: the historical center of the city, the territory of the Kazan Kremlin and city parks.

The competition included individual starts in the cross-sprint discipline and team races in the cross-relay format. These performances had the status of selection for the Russian national team.

Polytechnic athletes showed excellent results.

Mikhail Maksimenko is the Russian champion in the relay (2 people) as part of the Leningrad Region team and third place in the sprint. Olga Shmailova is the second place in the sprint and the silver medalist of the relay as part of the St. Petersburg team.

Astana, Aug. 25 (Xinhua) — In Kazakhstan, trade volume increased by 8.6 percent in January-July 2025. Investments in the trade sector in the first half of the year grew by 37 percent, reaching 438 billion tenge, Kazinform reported on Monday, citing the country's government.

According to Kazinform, in the message of the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan Kassym-Jomart Tokayev “Fair Kazakhstan: law and order, economic growth, public optimism” the development of trade and expansion of the country’s export potential are named as the most important areas of state policy. In this regard, the government is implementing measures to support domestic producers, stimulate non-resource exports and create conditions for small and medium businesses.

“Over 800 thousand business entities are involved in trade, providing jobs for over 1.5 million people,” noted Minister of Trade and Integration Arman Shakkaliyev.

According to the agency, amendments were made to the legislation on determining the country of origin of goods in May 2025. A single register of domestic producers is being formed, which will allow them to gain access to government support measures, as well as participate in government and quasi-government procurement.

In order to stimulate trade, a program is in place that provides for at least 50 percent of shelf space for products of Kazakhstani manufacturers. At the same time, quality control over imported products is being strengthened. According to the ministry, during inspections, more than 900 vehicles with goods were returned and over 1,000 conformity documents were cancelled.

According to the Export Credit Agency, the volume of support provided for the first seven months of this year amounted to 394 billion tenge, which is more than 200 billion more than the same period last year. About 71 percent of supported projects are for small and medium businesses, while the share of medium and high value added products is 83 percent.

According to the government, an international infrastructure is being formed to promote Kazakhstani goods abroad. In China, there are national pavilions and partner offices in Chengdu, Urumqi, Nanjing and Shandong Province. In Uzbekistan, a representative center of Kazakhstan has been opened on the territory of the international complex "Termez".
