The meeting was held in a constructive manner and was devoted to finding practical ways to intensify cooperation between the universities of the two countries.

The central topic of discussion was scholarship support programs for students from Russia and Hungary. The current positive dynamics were noted. SPbPU provided detailed information on opportunities for Hungarian students in Russia, including quotas of the Russian Government and a unique project of the Global Universities Association — the international Olympiad "Open Doors: Russian Scholarship". Winning this Olympiad gives the right to free education in the bachelor's, master's or postgraduate programs of any leading Russian university, including SPbPU, regardless of the allocated quotas.

The parties discussed the resumption of student and faculty exchange programs, as well as prospects for creating joint educational programs, in particular in engineering, economics and biomedicine. The Russian side emphasized its readiness to sign new inter-university agreements, which will be preliminarily agreed upon with the Ministry of Science and Higher Education of Russia.

Dmitry Arsenyev recalled the long-standing and strong ties between SPbPU and its Hungarian colleagues, in particular with the Budapest University of Technology and Economics. An important step in developing the dialogue will be the upcoming meeting of the Russian-Hungarian intergovernmental commission in Moscow in December 2025, where a separate working group on higher education will operate. It is expected that representatives of the rectors' corps of both countries will take part in it.

The delegation's visit became a significant practical step in establishing direct contacts between the academic circles of Russia and Hungary. The parties agreed to intensify interaction in developing opportunities for scientific and educational cooperation.

The Civil Engineering Institute completed the 2025 admission campaign with high results

The Institute of Civil Engineering of Peter the Great St. Petersburg Polytechnic University has summed up the results of this year's admission campaign. A special place in history is occupied by the Faculty of Hydrotechnics, which from 1934 to 1999 became the center for training engineers for the largest hydrotechnical projects. Currently, there are no hydroelectric power plants in Russia in the justification, design and construction of which graduates of the Faculty of Hydrotechnics would not have participated. The same can be said about hydrotechnical facilities in the former republics of the USSR, now sovereign states. Many graduates participated in the design and construction of facilities in Vietnam, Egypt, Syria, Turkey and other countries. BEIJING, Sept. 12 (Xinhua) — Alashankou City, located in the Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region (XUAR) on the border of China and Kazakhstan, has been actively leveraging its unique geographical advantages to promote the integrated development of culture and tourism, according to an article posted on the official website of the Alashankou City Hall.

As the hub of China's opening up to the West, Alashankou serves as an important channel for the development of China's trade and economic ties with Central Asia and even Europe. This year, Alashankou City continues to work hard to improve its cultural and tourism infrastructure. The Russian Cultural Center in Beijing hosted a hugely successful evening of Russian ballet, dedicated to the 100th anniversary of the birth of the great Russian ballerina Maya Plisetskaya. Leading artists of the Mikhailovsky Theater from St. Petersburg took part in the event: prima ballerina, Honored Artist of Russia Irina Perren and first soloist, Honored Artist of St. Petersburg Marat Shemiunov.
