Navigation routes 2026–2027:

The Grand Journey on the Nile between Cairo and Aswan

An exclusive 15-day cruise itinerary along the entire navigable section of the Nile – from Cairo to Aswan or from Aswan to Cairo. The cruise itinerary retraces Thomas Cook's legendary voyage along the Nile and tells the story of Egypt from the Delta of the "Great River of the Pharaohs" to its southern banks.

Authentic Upper and Middle Egypt with numerous rare sites of great interest to history buffs: the necropolises of Tuna el-Gabal and Beni Hasan, the temple complexes at Dendera and Abydos; Coptic monasteries and the most famous sights of Ancient Egypt – the Valley of the Kings, the Karnak Temple and the Temple of Queen Hatshepsut in Luxor, the Temple of Horus at Edfu, the mysterious Philae Island, and much more; the impressive Aswan Dam and the shady Botanical Garden in Aswan; a detailed acquaintance with Cairo – a tour of the treasury of the pharaohs – the Egyptian Museum, a visit to the majestic pyramids of Giza and their mystical guardian – the Sphinx, and an ascent to the observation deck of the citadel fortress.

The cruise experience will be enhanced by the lush natural beauty of the Nile Delta shores.

Cruise dates:

Classic Nile Cruises

A combination of a classic cruise between Aswan and Luxor with an excursion program in Cairo (2 days) and a beach holiday at a Hurghada hotel on an all-inclusive basis (2 days).

You can choose either an 8-day cruise tour from Cairo to Hurghada (3 nights on the Nile cruise) or a 9-day cruise from Hurghada to Cairo (4 nights on the Nile cruise):

All of Egypt's iconic landmarks—the Valley of the Kings, Tutankhamun's Tomb, the Colossi of Memnon, the temples of Isis and Horus—will be explored; the magnificent Aswan Dam will be seen; and the Crocodile Museum will be visited overlooking the Nile; a tour of the Egyptian Museum in Cairo will be held, along with a visit to Egypt's main treasure trove—the surviving pyramids of Giza and their mystical guardian, the Sphinx.

Cruise tour dates:

Egypt cruises are another interesting feature of the "Discovering the World with Sozvezdie" project:

An intimate atmosphere – the Jaz Al Qassida cruise ship will be at the complete disposal of Sozvezdie guests during the cruise; an all-inclusive package tour with a maximum of services – cruise, hotel accommodation, full excursion program, domestic flights and comfortable transfers, tips, medical insurance and visa support (if necessary); a rich pre- or post-cruise program in Cairo and Aswan, with excursions, accommodation, meals (breakfast and dinner) at a 4* hotel in Cairo and lunches at local restaurants, as well as an all-inclusive vacation at a 4* hotel in Hurghada; support, care and attention from the group leader and accompanying staff from Sozvezdie throughout the entire route, assistance with any questions on board the ship; fully Russian-language service – an information chat with pre-cruise preparation, excursions with Russian-speaking guides, an onboard newspaper and a daily program in Russian.

The "Discover Egypt with Constellation" cruise tour period is considered one of the best times to visit Egypt, as there is no extreme heat at this time, and the air and water temperatures are comfortable for relaxation and sightseeing.

Depending on the route you will visit:

Cairo is the capital of Egypt, where majestic pyramids, oriental bazaars, and the bustle of modern city life create a striking contrast. Luxor is an open-air museum housing about a third of all ancient Egyptian monuments, including legendary temples, pharaonic tombs, and colossal statues. Edfu is the best-preserved temple of ancient Egypt, dedicated to the god Horus, patron of the pharaohs' power. Kom Ombo is an architectural phenomenon: a double temple to the gods Sobek and Horus. Its terraces offer stunning views of the Nile. Hurghada is the main resort on the Red Sea, a great place for a family vacation, diving, or fun beach parties. Aswan is the perfect place to experience the rhythm of the great river. Here you'll find the majestic Aswan High Dam, the romantic Temple of Isis, and a true oasis on the Nile—a picturesque botanical garden. El Minyu is a mysterious city in Upper Egypt, where underground tombs and catacombs have been discovered. The necropolis is 2,500 years old. Tell el-Amarna is the lost city of the heretic pharaoh Akhenaten, who renounced the old gods. Excavations continue there today. El Balyanu is a small town on the banks of the Nile, the starting point for a tour of the temple complexes of Dendera and Abydos—the sacred jewels of Ancient Egypt.

TEHRAN, Dec. 30 (Xinhua) — Iran on Monday expressed its readiness to use diplomacy whenever it proves effective to protect its national interests, stressing that current contacts with the United States remain strictly limited to issues related to the nuclear program.

Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesman Esmail Baghaei made the statement at a weekly press conference, emphasizing that Iran has never abandoned diplomacy and continues to view it as an important means of advancing national interests when the right conditions are created.

Commenting on recent comments by Iraqi Prime Minister Mohammed al-Sudani regarding Baghdad's efforts to facilitate direct talks between Iran and the US, E. Baghaei said Iraq's concern for regional security and stability is "commendable."

Iran welcomes sincere efforts by neighboring countries to ease regional tensions, he added, stressing that the start of any negotiation process requires adherence to proper diplomatic procedures.

Regarding the current state of contacts between Tehran and Washington, E. Bagai said that the official communication channel through the missions protecting the interests of the two countries (the Swiss Embassy in Tehran and the Pakistani Embassy in Washington) remains active, and there is currently no need to create additional channels.

Iran and the United States had held five rounds of Oman-brokered proximity talks on the nuclear issue and lifting US sanctions and were preparing for a sixth round when Israel launched airstrikes on nuclear and military sites in Iran on June 13, killing senior commanders, nuclear scientists and civilians.

On June 22, US forces struck Iranian nuclear facilities in Natanz, Fordow, and Isfahan. –0–

Merry Christmas and Happy New Year 2026 from Rector Andrey Rudskoy

Dear friends!

I sincerely wish you a Happy New Year and Merry Christmas! This is a wonderful time to look back and remember your victories and achievements of the past year, and to start setting goals for the year ahead.

The year 2025 ended with a significant event for our university: we celebrated the 170th anniversary of the birth of Prince Andrei Gagarin, the first director of the St. Petersburg Polytechnic Institute. To mark the occasion, we opened a new museum exhibition dedicated to Andrei Grigorievich, an exhibition of paintings by his great-granddaughter Elena Artsutanova, and held several other large-scale events.

Throughout the year, our talented undergraduate and graduate students won presidential grants and scholarships, and won regional, federal, and international competitions, Olympiads, and sporting events, furthering the Polytechnic's reputation. In December, the "Omnivorous" team achieved a long-awaited victory in the international robot combat championship, and Kirill Prigoda once again confirmed his status as one of the best athletes in the country and the world.

Our young scientists and faculty have won numerous intellectual and creative competitions. We welcomed distinguished guests to the Polytechnic University and honored our university's new honorary doctors. In 2025, these honoraries included: Alexey Likhachev, Director General of the Rosatom State Corporation; Vitaly Savelyev, Deputy Prime Minister of the Russian Federation; Oleg Savelyev, Deputy Minister of Defense of Russia; Mohamed Ali Berawi, Professor at the University of Indonesia; Mikhail Piotrovsky, Director of the State Hermitage Museum; Sergey Brilyov, Russian journalist and television host, President of the Global Energy Association; Rustam Minnikhanov, Rais of the Republic of Tatarstan; Valery Kozlov, distinguished Russian scientist and academician; and Georgy Fokin, CEO of Gazprom Transgaz Saint Petersburg.

Furthermore, Polytechnic University has acquired new reliable partners. We have signed numerous cooperation agreements with industrial companies and other educational institutions in St. Petersburg, Russia, and around the world.

SPbPU became the coordinator of the "Slavic Universities" project and actively collaborated with universities in neighboring countries throughout the year. The universities exchanged experiences and jointly participated in specialized conferences and forums.

In addition, in 2025, Polytechnic University participated in such major events as the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum, the St. Petersburg International Gas Forum, the Russian Industrialist forum and exhibition, the Innoprom international industrial exhibition, and many others.

In 2026, we won't slow down! We will confidently move toward our goals, conquer professional heights, and discover uncharted areas. Let every day be a step toward great discoveries, and our ideas the foundation for future breakthroughs.

I hope the coming year brings a bright light of joy, the warmth of happy moments, and an inexhaustible source of inspiration into your life. I wish you to celebrate it surrounded by your dearest ones—family, loyal friends, and like-minded people who will always support you and share in the joy of your victories.

I sincerely wish you a Happy New Year and a bright Christmas! May these days be the beginning of a wonderful journey filled with exciting events, positive changes, and unforgettable impressions.

Polytechnicians are recipients of scholarships from the President and Government of Russia

The awards ceremony for the winners of the all-Russian program "Russian Scholarship Holder: A Course for the Future" was held in the Northwestern Federal District. Among the 690 laureates from 51 universities were students from Peter the Great St. Petersburg Polytechnic University, who demonstrated outstanding academic achievements. Thirty-one SPbPU students were awarded prestigious state scholarships, one of the most significant achievements among technical universities in the district.

Natalia Pyatinda, Head of the Department for the Implementation of Public Projects at the Office of the Presidential Plenipotentiary Envoy to the Northwestern Federal District, opened the ceremony. She emphasized: "A scholarship of such a high level motivates us to continue our research. It encourages us to believe in ourselves and to keep going. The 690 scholarship recipients from 51 universities in the Northwestern Federal District are a significant indicator of your intelligence, hard work, and determination."

The speech by Andrei Maksimov, Chairman of the Committee for Science and Higher Education of St. Petersburg, added a special symbolism to the moment. Congratulating the scholarship recipients on behalf of the Governor, he recalled their great origins: "You have gathered today in St. Petersburg, the cradle of Russian science and professional education. It was here, by decree of Peter the Great on February 8, 1724, that the Academy of Sciences, the university, and the academic gymnasium were founded. This is the beginning of the history of Russian science and professional education. You are the continuers of the great traditions established by Peter the Great, Mikhail Vasilyevich Lomonosov, Dmitry Ivanovich Mendeleyev, and Zhores Ivanovich Alferov. For the students of the university named after the founder of Russian engineering education, these words sound like a direct parting word and a high assessment of their mission."

The success of SPbPU students confirms their high-quality preparation and active research. Based on the results of the competition, effective September 1, 2025, the university awarded scholarships from the President of the Russian Federation to seven students (in the "Mathematical and Natural Sciences" and "Engineering, Technology, and Technical Sciences" competition groups). Twenty-four students received scholarships from the Government of the Russian Federation (in the "Mathematical and Natural Sciences," "Engineering, Technology, and Technical Sciences," and "Social Sciences" competition groups).

"The 31 Presidential and Government scholarships awarded to our students are more than just a number; they are the most impressive award and the best confirmation of SPbPU's exceptional quality. This is a shared victory: the impeccable professionalism of our faculty and the remarkable talent and perseverance of our students. We are especially proud that the majority of awards were won in engineering and technical fields. This speaks volumes about the strength of our Polytechnic School and its key role in Russia's technological breakthrough. "This means we don't just teach—we train engineers who are already building the future of our country," emphasized SPbPU Vice-Rector for Academic Affairs Lyudmila Pankova.

Tatyana Sheptunova accompanied the scholarship recipients at the ceremony: The scholarship is not only significant financial support, but also an honorary sign of recognition at the federal level.

Financial support is intended to stimulate new discoveries in priority areas: IT, biotechnology, energy, and medicine.

Gazprom-Media Holding is summing up the results of its comprehensive corporate social responsibility program, "PRO," for 2025. The program, based on sustainable development principles, has demonstrated significant results and enabled the Holding to improve its position in social responsibility rankings.

Based on the 2025 results, Gazprom-Media Holding was ranked among Russian business leaders in social responsibility in Category A (Best Practice) in the national study "Leaders in Corporate Philanthropy." This reflects the systematic approach and effectiveness of our social programs and confirms the Gazprom-Media Holding team's contribution to achieving national goals and implementing national project objectives.

In 2025, Gazprom-Media Holding continued the consistent implementation of its PRO corporate responsibility program. Built around five key areas—PRO Assistance, PRO Participation, PRO Creation, PRO Support, and PRO Care—the program focuses on maximizing the Holding's media resources to address critical social issues. Priorities include the production of socially significant content, information support for NGOs and charitable foundations, targeted assistance to SVO participants and their families, and care for the elderly. Work in each area was conducted systematically, with the involvement of the expert community and partners, significantly enhancing the practical benefits of these initiatives.

In 2025, as part of the "PRO_Care" program, special film screenings were organized to support SVO participants. These screenings were attended by over 10,000 people, including SVO participants, their families and children, representatives of law enforcement agencies, the Burdenko Main Military Clinical Hospital, and representatives of the Yunarmiya movement. The Holding introduced over 3,000 children of SVO participants, as well as young people from the All-Russian Yunarmiya movement, to the media industry and organized tours of the Holding's companies. Volunteers from the Holding helped over 50 elderly people by participating in a charity delivery of hot meals in collaboration with the "Dari Edu" foundation.

The Oktyabr Cinema hosted the premiere of the feature documentary "In the Name of Peace on Earth" by director Mikhail Matrosov, as well as special screenings of "Catherine the Great," "Not on the Lists," and the war drama "August." Gathered in the cinema's main auditorium were members of the Special Military Forces, representatives of law enforcement agencies, doctors from military hospitals, members of the Young Army, students from military academies, conscripts, and schoolchildren.

Gazprom-Media Holding places special emphasis on supporting military personnel and their families, as well as the younger generation, leveraging its extensive media reach and implementing projects of significant social significance. The holding and its companies regularly host patriotic events as part of the PRO_Care project, including charity events, special film screenings, and meetings between young people, SVO members, and volunteers.

Gazprom-Media Holding congratulated veterans and participants of the Soviet Military District on the 80th anniversary of Victory in the Great Patriotic War. Congratulations to veterans of the Great Patriotic War were held jointly with the Center for Patriotic Education and the Moscow Young Army members as part of the "Parade at the Veteran's Home" ceremony, held at the residences of Great Patriotic War veterans. Representatives of the Holding and the Young Army members congratulated Pyotr Fyodorovich Ivankov, Igor Nikolaevich Antipenko, and Semyon Yakovlevich Lyulko.

A congratulatory ceremony for the Special Military Operations (SVO) participants took place at the Moscow Military Enlistment Office, attended by its leadership. Representatives of the Holding also congratulated the veterans of the special military operation on the 80th anniversary of Victory in the Great Patriotic War and presented them with commemorative gifts. The event was held jointly with the Leningrad Frontier Foundation and was attended by the Military Commissioner of the Leningrad Region and representatives of the regional government and Legislative Assembly. The meeting was attended by servicemen who distinguished themselves during combat missions and were awarded the highest state awards. They are currently serving at the Leningrad Region Military Enlistment Office.

Gazprom-Media Holding and the Fatherland Defenders Foundation have signed an agreement on joint work in promoting civic responsibility and patriotism. The document was signed by Gazprom-Media Holding CEO Alexander Zharov and the Foundation's Chairperson, Anna Tsivileva. The agreement provides for the parties to pool their efforts to implement educational, informational, and social projects aimed at strengthening traditional values, preserving historical memory, and fostering patriotic awareness among young people. The agreement was signed on the sidelines of the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum.

Gazprom-Media Holding employees supported the participants of the Air Defense Forces by participating in a blood donation drive. Eighty people participated in the drive for military personnel undergoing treatment at the A.A. Vishnevsky National Research Center for High Medical Technologies. This pilot blood donation drive marked the beginning of a series of similar events across the Holding's assets. The drive is part of the Holding's social responsibility program, "PRO_Care," which unites charitable initiatives to support the families of Air Defense Forces participants and assist the elderly. The RUTUBE team systematically supports the development of media and the blogosphere in new regions, including by providing information on moderation and promotion on the platform. For example, the RUTUBE national video hosting team in Luhansk presented the "Poetry of Victory" project, created jointly with soldiers of the 98th Guards Airborne Division, and signed a memorandum of cooperation with the Ministry of Youth Policy of the LPR. The poems were read by the authors—SVO members from the 98th Airborne Division, as well as war correspondents and bloggers Maryana Naumova, Marina Onishchenko, and others. "Poetry of Victory" is a series of videos in which SVO members and bloggers read poems written by service members on the front lines. The first series of videos was prepared based on a collection of poems by service members of the 98th Airborne Division.

In March, a memorandum of cooperation was signed in Moscow between the Russian Military Historical Society, RUTUBE, and the Nikolai Danilevsky Film Studio. The document constitutes an agreement on informational, expert, and organizational cooperation in various fields.

The first studio in a historical setting opened in Melitopol, Zaporizhzhia Oblast, at the end of June. Since then, the audience for podcasts, interviews, and talk shows created by the studio's guests has exceeded 500,000. A second studio opened in Mariupol in September. It is free of charge. Here, anyone—professionals and aspiring professionals—has the opportunity to create their own content in any format, from podcasts to short shows, using modern equipment. The studio will also serve as a venue for courses and master classes on the fundamentals of journalism.

RUTUBE helps SVO participants create media projects. For example, at the Meganom Academy of Creative Industries, as part of the "

During a trip to historical regions, the national video hosting service RUTUBE held a training seminar on creating video content in combat situations. Participants included war correspondents, active-duty service members of the 98th Guards Airborne Division, and specialists responsible for covering the division's operations and military operations in the Northern Military District. The video hosting service plans to hold such seminars on a regular basis.

RUTUBE also co-organized and acted as information partner for the All-Russian Scientific and Practical Conference "Military Journalism in a Multipolar World." Held at Luhansk State Pedagogical University, it brought together over 150 participants—students and military journalists.

The PRO_Care program won the "Best Social Project in Russia" award in the "Caring. Support and Assistance" category and was also included in a collection of best practices in corporate volunteering. The initiative aims to support participants in special military operations and their families, residents of new regions of Russia, and senior citizens. The National Council for Corporate Volunteering and the Dobro.rf Ecosystem presented the collection of best practices on the sidelines of the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum (SPIEF). The publication features case studies of companies that are developing volunteerism and setting the bar for social responsibility in business. The collection is designed to help companies build on proven practices and share experiences. The projects included in the collection were recognized as the best by the jury of the all-Russian "Champions of Good Deeds" competition and the international award.

"DNA" gives children raised in orphanages or foster homes the opportunity to discover their biological parents, look them in the eye, and ask the ultimate question: "Why was I abandoned?" Mothers can establish paternity and hold those who persistently default on child support to account. And people who officially don't exist can prove they exist. Over the course of the program's existence, more than four thousand genetic tests have been conducted. Thanks to this, over a thousand families from 22 countries were finally reunited. The program's team proved that 47 families had had their children swapped and rescued five people from slavery. Anyone in difficult life situations can become a hero of the program and receive a free, expensive DNA test, performed by qualified geneticists from the most respected laboratories. The DNA test results, announced live in the studio, become the decisive argument, capable of ending family strife.

Students and pupils of media classes visited the filming of the show “Mask”, “Show Avatar” and the musical project “NTV Apartment House at Margulis”. At the “Mask” show, the guys found themselves behind the scenes of the project and saw how the channel’s flagship project was created: they learned how the filming process works from the inside, went into the sound and director’s studio, looked at the original costumes of the show’s participants, visited the dressing rooms, and also went on stage and walked the path of a “Mask” participant. After the excursion, the guys settled down in the auditorium and witnessed one of the semi-finals of the sixth season of the show. On the set of the musical project “NTV Apartment House at Margulis”, the guys met the presenter Evgeny Margulis, learned how one of the most intimate and atmospheric television projects is created and, of course, became spectators of an episode with the popular group “Three Days of Rain”. Behind the scenes of the high-tech “Avatar Show,” the guys learned how the filming process of an incredible show works, in which the stars control fantastic digital avatars in real time from a special room, and only their voice, movements and emotions can give them away. Participants visited a sound engineering studio and a separate closed studio where digital avatars of the show’s characters are created, and where the participants themselves put on sensors and glasses. The guys also went on the main stage and took pictures near the jury chairs. This allowed the guys to better understand the specifics of working on television. After the excursion, the guys took their seats in the auditorium and watched the second episode of the fourth season of the show.
