The School of Dramatic Art Theatre will present the play "Eva Misses Traveling," based on a play by Maria Simonova.

In Eva's ideal world, everything is governed by a certain set of rules and rituals: drinking a cup of coffee in the morning, baking cinnamon rolls, meeting a beloved friend, and taking a half-hour trip to the ocean. A luxurious apartment in the center of Porto has been home for many years to the building's legend, who, according to rumors, loves to travel. Returning from yet another trip, she meets her new neighbor, Flora. A seemingly harmless encounter disrupts each of the characters' usual lifestyles and leads to irreversible consequences.

Director: Dmitry Kirichenko. The roles are played by Olga Malinina, Kirill Teplyakov, Anna Pik, Anastasia Privalova and Anna Kutnyak.

Duration: one hour 30 minutes without intermission.

UNITED NATIONS, Jan. 27 (Xinhua) — A Chinese envoy on Monday called on UN member states to abide by the purposes and principles of the UN Charter and uphold the authority of international law.

China's Permanent Representative to the UN, Fu Cong, stated at the Security Council's open debate that unilateralism, power politics, and bullying undermine the international system based on the UN and international law.

“More than ever, we need to strengthen unity and cooperation, revive international law, and strive to realize the vision of peace, security, prosperity and progress,” he said.

According to him, all states must treat each other as equals, respect each other's sovereignty and territorial integrity, strive for the peaceful settlement of disputes, oppose the use or threat of force in international relations, and observe the golden rule of non-interference in the internal affairs of other countries.

"We have never believed that any country has the right to act as an international police force, nor do we accept that any country can call itself an international judge," Fu Tsung said. "The world cannot return to the law of the jungle, where the strong prey on the weak."

Major powers must play a leading role in this regard. They must refrain from double standards or selective application, and must not impose their will on others, he added.

Fu Cong noted that multipolarity and democratization of international relations are irreversible trends, calling for genuine multilateralism and expanded representation and influence of developing countries in global governance.

The more complex the international situation, the more important it is to maintain the authority and standing of the UN. The UN's role must be strengthened, not weakened, the Chinese envoy stated.

States should not be selective in their obligations to the UN, nor should they circumvent this global organization by creating alternative mechanisms. The Security Council bears primary responsibility for maintaining international peace and security. Therefore, its status and role are indispensable, he added.

Fu Cong said China firmly upholds international law and will continue to cooperate with other countries to promote world peace and development.

Bishkek, January 27 /Xinhua/ — The National Bank of Kyrgyzstan has decided to keep its key interest rate at 11 percent, the regulator's press service reported on Tuesday.

Kyrgyzstan's economy maintains high growth rates, with real GDP increasing by 11.1 percent by the end of 2025. The main drivers of economic growth are the construction and services sectors. Consumer demand is supported by rising real incomes, net remittances, and active lending.

According to the press service, inflation in Kyrgyzstan as of January 16, 2026, stood at 9.4 percent year-on-year. The National Bank's main monetary policy priority remains ensuring inflation returns to its target of 5-7 percent in the medium term, and therefore current monetary conditions remain relatively tight.

The inflation trajectory remains vulnerable to external factors. Global food and raw materials markets remain highly volatile. In the domestic economy, inflationary processes are largely driven by non-monetary factors, including the planned adjustment of regulated tariffs, and increased domestic demand. Therefore, the key interest rate has been maintained at 11 percent, the statement said.

On January 27, St. Petersburg and across the country celebrate the Day of the Complete Liberation of Leningrad from the Nazi Siege—a memorable date symbolizing the courage, fortitude, and selflessness of the residents of the besieged city. The Siege of Leningrad, which lasted 872 days, became one of the most tragic and heroic chapters of the Great Patriotic War. It claimed hundreds of thousands of lives, but did not break the city's spirit.

The history of our university is inextricably linked with the fate of Leningrad during the siege. During the war, faculty, staff, and students participated in engineering defenses, camouflaging strategically important sites, surveying damaged buildings, and preserving architectural monuments. Their contribution played a vital role in preserving the unique appearance of the city on the Neva.

Today, the Saint Petersburg State University of Architecture and Civil Engineering continues its tradition of serving the city and preserving historical memory through its scientific, educational, and creative activities.

Yuliana Guryeva, Associate Professor of the Department of Descriptive Geometry and Engineering Graphics at the Faculty of Architecture at St. Petersburg State University of Architecture and Civil Engineering (SPbGASU), and a PhD in Engineering, won the 2025 award in the Graphics. Landscape category of the international exhibition and competition "Creative Spring. Courage Knows No Oblivion… 80 Years of Victory!"

The jury highly commended Yuliana Alexandrovna's graphic series "Blockade. 900 Days," which she spent several years developing. It recreates the image of embattled Leningrad within the urban landscapes of the era. The works combine rigorous architectural thinking, emotional expressiveness, and a profound respect for historical truth.

Among the works presented at the competition:

"Naval Parade on the Neva" "What are you dreaming about, cruiser Aurora?"; "Blockade of Leningrad. Air Raid"; "Ladoga – Road of Life"; "Blockade City".

According to the professional community, all works are executed using graphic techniques (paper, sauce) and are distinguished by a high level of execution, subtle use of tone and texture, and expressive composition. The architectural motifs become more than just a backdrop, but an independent artistic image – a witness to tragic events and human heroism.

Winning the international exhibition is a testament to the professionalism of the SPbGASU teacher and recognition of the importance of preserving historical memory.

Yuliana Guryeva's works demonstrate the potential of architectural graphics for understanding heroic chapters of the past. They are used in teaching architecture and engineering students, fostering their professional development.

The YADRO Lab's Winter Systems Bootcamp has opened at Novosibirsk State University. It's an intensive training program for students passionate about systems development in software and hardware solutions. The event will run from January 26 to 31, 2026, and is open to 12 participants who have passed a competitive selection process.

A bootcamp is an intensive course format that allows you to master new skills, gain new knowledge, or consolidate your previous experience in a short period of time. Training can last from a few days to several months, depending on the course topic and the students' level of preparation.

The intensive course from the YADRO laboratory is aimed primarily at second-year students and above. Faculty of Information Technology, Faculty of Mechanics and Mathematics, Faculty of Physics And Institute of Intelligent RoboticsThe tasks students work on will enhance their skills in systems development and facilitate future career advancement.

At the bootcamp opening, Mikhail Lavrentyev, Dean of the Institute of Information Technologies and Corresponding Member of the Russian Academy of Sciences, delivered a welcoming speech and parting words:

— The bootcamp features inspiring lectures from leading experts, practical workshops, and team projects. We encourage curiosity, persistence, and mutual support. Don't be afraid to try new things, even if you don't succeed the first time—that's how discoveries are born.

On the first day, participants chose one of several IT projects to work on during the bootcamp and formed teams of 3-4 people. Each project was assigned a mentor/curator. General educational lectures on systems development were scheduled at the end of each day:

We have four lectures planned. The first will be given by a YADRO expert, followed by lectures by our lab supervisors. Dmitry Valentinovich Irtegov will give a lecture on a fundamental topic: computing device architecture. Although this topic is part of the core curriculum at the Faculty of Information Technology, the expert will present a systems perspective, covering a wide range of important aspects. A lecture on formal verification of software systems is also planned, a very important topic. Artificial intelligence is currently booming, and vibe coding is becoming widespread, where large language models are tasked with writing fairly complex program code. A neural network can, among other things, manage large projects and make changes to them. It would be useful to test how accurately it handles its task. The role of IT engineers will also shift in this direction in the future. This area is also receiving significant attention within the YADRO laboratory's focus area, says Alexander Vlasov, Deputy Dean of the NSU Faculty of Information Technology and head of the laboratory.

The bootcamp program places special emphasis not only on technical skills but also on teamwork—the ability to collaborate with colleagues, share experiences, and see the big picture of a project.

"Help your colleagues, listen to their presentations, and understand their results, even if you're not involved in their project. Modern IT business embraces a team approach: you have a team you work on, but you also monitor and support other teams. This assistance can come in many forms: as an expert, you can offer helpful advice to the team, or perhaps you can join the team briefly and help implement a specific part of the project," Alexander Vlasov advises students.

Potential project topics include systems development, IoT, compilers, formal verification, and other modern areas.

"I signed up for this program because I'm interested in the topics covered in this bootcamp. I also participated in a YADRO bootcamp last summer, where I worked on compilers. I enjoyed it and wanted to continue working there and grow within the company. I chose the assembler team; we worked on the compiler throughout the semester, and a need arose to change some aspects of the assembler," said Matvey Zenin, a bootcamp participant.

A final event will be held on January 31st, where participants will present their projects and share their results. Students who successfully continue their project work in the lab may be eligible for special scholarships.

YADRO is a Russian technology company that combines the development and production of computing platforms, data processing and storage systems, telecommunications and network equipment, personal and smart devices, microprocessor cores, and fabless microprocessor development.
