Islamabad, September 18 (Xinhua) — Pakistani security forces killed four terrorists on Wednesday during an intelligence-based operation in the southwestern province of Balochistan, the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) of the Pakistan Armed Forces said on Thursday.

According to the statement, the operation took place in Khuzdar district following information about the presence of terrorists there. Troops cordoned off the militants' hideout, leading to an intense firefight.

Ankara, September 18 (Xinhua) — Turkish Gendarmerie has detained 51 people suspected of links to the Islamic State (IS) group during a major counterterrorism operation over the past two weeks, Interior Minister Ali Yerlikaya announced on Thursday.

BEIJING, Sept. 18 (Xinhua) — The northern branch of the Palace Museum (Former Imperial Palace Museum) is expected to open by the end of 2026, a Beijing Youth Daily correspondent learned from the Haidian branch of the Beijing Municipal Planning and Resources Commission on Wednesday.

According to a statement, the main structure of the Palace Museum's northern branch project has already been completed. Interior finishing work has officially begun. This branch is located in northeastern Beijing, in the Haidian district. This district is also home to the former imperial parks of Yiheyuan and Yuanmingyuan.

The branch's total area is 102,000 square meters and will include 12 high-tech exhibition halls, including a department for the protection and restoration of cultural relics, an exhibition hall, a palace gardening center, a hall of intangible cultural heritage, and more. The northern branch will annually display between 20,000 and 30,000 exhibits, which is approximately two to three times more than the Palace Museum itself, which is located in the heart of the Chinese capital.

GUIYANG, Sept. 18 (Xinhua) — China's Jiuyuan Airlines (9 Air) on Wednesday launched a direct flight route linking Guiyang, capital of southwest China's Guizhou Province, with Seoul, capital of the Republic of Korea.

Flights on this route will operate on Wednesdays and Sundays. The flight will depart Guiyang at 2:55 PM Beijing Time and arrive in Seoul at 6:50 PM. The return flight will depart at 8:25 PM, landing at Guiyang Airport at 11:55 PM Beijing Time.
